http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilma_Mankiller

DD wash your mouth out with the soap box and water. BoP has postie vote. So for me, it is over!
No pleasures as away from BoPsie and is her birthday the morrow. Just that on the tredder, down bridle passage two cars. No occupants in one. Tut tut, in midst of land of Sparra, someone was being naughty!
Beware of modern day slavery, supported by charity?0 -
Good evening everyone :hello:
AWOL for a couple of days, due to cake cluband work
.
ampersand - Yes, my boys were far too polite on Saturday. Ah well, nearly the end of the season and we have a member of the Tigers family returning to the fold as coach. We never look far out of the family for our coaches. The two times we have done recently have ended abruptly and "on mutual terms" - yeah, right.
Frith - delighted that the new job is going well.
Pleasures for the last few days:
1) 2 x NSD! :j :j
2) Massive vat of bolognese sauce made and now ready to hit the freezer. Many veggies used up too.
3) Catching up with a friend.
4) Sorting ideas for my science club tomorrow! The very first time I've done one... I'd got fed up of doing an ICT club.
5) Washing... as far as the eye can see. Oh and DH did some of the ironing.

IC shoes?
VJsmum IC is Irregular Choice. Take a look at their shop but be warned, they're addictive!

Evening all from a cooler Melbourne. We go from one extreme to the other. Yesterday started with a storm and then was very warm , today was cooler and showery.
Shift number 9/10 done ...just one more to go before the weekend off.
Made $22 in commission yesterday, it was a madly busy shift but worth the hard work for some extra cash!
Stunning autumn display by Mother Nature.
Had PTA last night. I enjoyed it , hardly anyone there.
DD2 had a contact lense trial....what a palaver ! That's an hour of my life I will never get back! Read a magazine!
But random, but 2 "celebs" from a TV cookery competition, came into work yesterday...we were a bit is it/ isn't it...but it was.
Have a lovely Thursday0 -
1. 'Grateful' to the NHS is inadequate. State-of-art procedure. 'Thanks to Addenbrookes proximity. I think we're the only one in the country to have this' said excellent nurse. Huge changes since last painful time....which turned out to be 2006. Growlings. 'Every 2-3 years, or immediately for any slightest change, not just the ones you read about.' Excellent, clear, sensible photo charts. Ladies - DO THIS, PLEASE.
Meeting someone in town later emphasised this: her daughter was 15[2013], noticed 'something'....and, d.v., told Mum. 'Benign, but it was the worst week of my life - Adbkes were brilliant. Daughter tells everyone now.'
2. A most amazing discovery. #30841, no.7:
& does early daily checks on new aniseed Ruby Red raticide. Out to do same yesterday, noticed mess of leaf, stray straw etc. had blown into porch shelves, right by &'s back door.. About to scoop it all to compost and.....IT'S A NEST!!!....a beautiful, tightly woven little thing of deep mossy roundness, with &'s hair too:-) No eggs and it really is an impractical, unsafe spot. Can't touch or do anything to obtain tools, DIY immediates, etc. The overspill is spread over a copy of Amnesty International's latest issue, which I must have plonked there on way in one recent day. I'm within a foot of it every time I go in and out, not to mention door being opened right there. Having already touched it, I fear I've done the human contaminant thing, but also hope it's not too late for them - blue tit couple? - to try again in a better place.
Photos after this - if only I could work out why pics aren't uploading any more.
3. Loved y'day's heat and light and the difference this makes to everyone.
4. On rte back from 1. called into to thank M, and met former colleague. More fab.fabrics[not upholstery weight] handed over and big catch-up re: &'s mahjong gbfs now in Spain and what's happened with S. Now there too. They missed & 3times apparently on their rtn over Easter and found they couldn't phone. Explains a lot and why S has been out when &'s called/texted over last fortnight. Can sort it all out now, happily.
5. Found a couple of perfect extras for nz aunt's 83rd[very Var for francophile &], not that it will quite reach her in time at this rate:-)...as long as it goes before or on the day is &'s rule..........speaking of which, spot on today for Lady Bopsie.6. Should end on that happy note, but last night's late patrol/sundown/book[still plumbing glorious depths of Fathomless Riches, trying not to finish it]meant deer, huge hare, partridge menage à trois and just thoughts and thanks at end of a fortunate day.

bop - have you rebuked dd rather than &? re: washing out mouth with soapbox?
pk - still on the road? hope to hear daily tales of your new work regime to join Frith and bop before long.
vjm - j'assume &'s honey icecream melted before you could hand it over?:D
Well done, revising son.
tealady - good to see you post+23 years of Congrats. You started the IC Cult here:), remember.
vl - good boss-avoid tactics. Advice given many decades ago to & is well-known: Imagine Person doing...you know the rest, image/activity of choice.
mcc - is all well with you and Dr C?
dfv - family life adapting, I hope, for you all.
ccp - long absence?

Afternoon, all!
A few OS Pleasures recently
Lancashire sheep largely still pregnant, or folded out of sight. I can look forward to more lambs larking.
Hallelujah! Cherry blossom out, great generous bubbles of colour along graceful arcs. A joy to eye & heart!
Three ducks on the river, ignoring each other in a very politely English way...
Holidays, sunshine & I'm one of about 6 at my desk. Working aboard the Marie Celeste has it's charms.
Pinny spotted reading "Dinner will be ready when you hear the smoke alarm." (I resisted, just.)
Ohmiword misunderstandings! Child misheard "overdosed on heroin" as "overdosed on herring" - yes, "one rollmop too many", dodgy "chasing the herring" etc. Son charmingly not getting most of the drug references.
Found an Army top in a charity shop - son delighted & Himself has requested a Bluestone 42 patch (TV series) to customise it a bit...
The Grand National! Just so much excitement & fun, shared across such a wide community. Looking forward to a piebald runner soon!
Himself saw & liked a solid pewter mug in a charity shop. Researching the maker's mark later, he's shocked to find it's still in production & retailing for over £100.
Sons tidying up funeral baked meats and cakes and crisps. So Helpful!
"Strong magnetic field. No pacemakers. Risk of Helium" - love the signs clearly for window cleaners by the MRI building.
Eldest now officially 5'9" & So Chuffed about it!
Considered later, after a good night's sleep, a good funeral really helps with the grief. If only to feel the support from everyone else there. Very happy we sorted a bugler for The Last Post, even if we lost it en masse for the duration thereof, when we hauled ourselves back together some of the pain had gone.
Recognising some lovely old songs & wondering if I might venture in to see the pianist - to be somewhat startled by an automatic piano, black & white & lovely, keys dancing & *no* pianist!
Box of Twinings Earl Grey tea gas left in kitchen with "too posh for me" note - cheerful view that we can help tidy up that little problem.
Husband reassuring me that with anniversary presents the right thing is more important than the right time.
Frith - love unveiling a shed! Hurrah First Day! Throwing metal cars at windows? Froideur goes glacial. Flying Princess Anne...
Dundeedoll - coauthoring a paper in Poland?! Win-win-win for travel & publication & vodka.
VickyA - delighted to hear Grandma still going & family all within reach as needed.
Ampersand - amidst everything else, you've become a political animal too? Awe!
mhagster - all my most loved sweaters are pas de tout chic. Hurrah an A in Maths!
VJsmum - welcome home & love love love your sig line!0 -
Good to see family functioning in altered but enhanced form dfv - all the more so with your very singular and special posts:-)
Political animal? - suppose I have always been that. We are people, ipso facto:-)
Just want to add I reluctantly, but necessarily, moved little birdie's nest just now, unsure what to do with it - and there is an egg! One tiny little beige egg, not even thumbnail size. Well, feeling bad enough as I was, what next?
Lifting whole in situ meant the Amnesty International mag stayed beneath so I saw headline story title 'Our Rights....' - none for this putative feather family.
