Bella.
Bella, can't wait to try out the picnic stuff! Any recipes?;)
But, what car? I haven't had one of those for nearly 9 years now, since the only one I ever had broke down for good after 12 years of dodgy service! This is why I can afford a few little luxuries, because we no longer have the money-draining machine that is a car - luckily in London you don't really need one at all, if you are in good health.
Re. salads, are you planting indoors? I have seeds but was under the impression that the ground is still too cold to plant! Suggestions welcome. Thanks!
Love
C xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Evening all
Mine for today
1 Leaving for school run on time as ALL the kids ate and got ready quickly!!
2 Shepherds pie in the slow cooker which we had for tea and it was really nice - ds1 wants me to make it every day!! :rotfl:
3 Popped onto flylady again and completed todays tasks of living room, hall and stairs. I even cleaned the windows and door inside and out again!:j
4 Baked some choc and raisen twinks and some choc, raisen and peanut twinks.
5 Got all the veg chopped to put the stew in the slow cooker first thing in morning!
phew - had a busy few days, making up for my time off at weekend! :rotfl:0 -
ACEY sorry to hear about the fire, hope all went well at court today
My five for today:
1) tea and porridge in bed courtesy dp
2) cuddles/chat with dd this morning
3) positive telephone conversations with friends/colleagues today
4) tea and bacon butty at Wa!trose at lunchtime
5) cultivating my inner Samuel. L Jackson whilst overhearing negative conversations and reminding myself of 'If' by Rudyard Kipling 'If you can meet with triumph and disaster; And treat those two imposters just the same'"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0 -
My 5 are (again) mainly food related!
Lunch was sarnies made from left over Mother's Day roast chicken
Sharing chocolate spread toast with OH as he was getting ready to go training tonight
Arranging to go look at some lab puppies on Saturday (not food related obviously!)
Making a huge pasta bake with left over chicken and cream
Making stock from chicken carcassClearing debt to save for a simple wedding.Starting 2016 With debt of £77000 -
Evening Ladies (and the occassional Gent),
Yep, back late from work again tonight... and another 12 hour day. No Ollie, the 12 hour days are not part of my contract. I'm contracted to do 40 hours a week, but nearly always do more like 45/50 hours a week (not much compared to some I know!!). My main bug bear is that nearly everyone else in the dept is on 36.25 hours per week and they leave on time! More fool me really...
Anyway I'll try to find 5 pleasures for today... it is going to be tough though...
umm...
1) I finished all the sweeties that I brought back from France for my colleagues. Infact I probably ate the vast majority of them!!
2) Nice soup for supper from the freezer
3) the senior team was in the London office today so us minions weren't hassled (much) all day
4) Rocking out to Guns and Roses at full blast on my way to work... and listening to their slower tracks on my way home
5) Giving the girls on reception some of chocolate samples that we had going spare. They were appreciative and it is nice to be nice.
Saving for Oz - I have also decided to not renew my internet dating subs when they run out next week. Not sure what is happening with KiwiBoy, but I think I need a break from it.
Night night all - got a long day tomorrow so need my sleep.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

2) Getting some of the hard and big jobs done today
3) Doughnut from one of my colleagues
4) NSD
5) Chatting with 10 year ex on the phone for over an hour and a half
Hope you all had a good day. Take care
CxAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
Evening all,
Mine for today:
1. Bacon muffin for breakfast, was cooked for OH but he didn't have time to eat it. It was yummy though;)
2. Lovely pasta and sausage soup left from last night for dinner
3. Really long lovely hot shower, never has a shower felt so nice
4. Tidying out another section of the kitchen
5. Having the option to be able to work from home so I didn't have to use a days holiday today.
6. Parents evening at DD school and hearing some really positive comments about her progress. The SENCO there is fantastic and has worked so hard to help her with her dyslexia, such a difference from primary school.0 -
Evening all! My 5 for today:
1. Feeling really good about my decision to stay single, and thanks to everyone for the messages of support. I am very happy with my life and look forward to it getting even better.
2. Reading some great online fiction.
3. Working really hard on my short story this evening. I really do think that this time I've finished it. Although I've said that before...:D
4. Finishing work at the client's premises where I've been since last Wednesday. Much as I like it there, I shall be glad to get back to the office tomorrow.
5. Giving myself a rare morning off from the gym, which meant that I could get up later and sort everything that I wanted to before work.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Jexy and Ampersand - come back ladies, I miss your lovely posts!
Welcome back Rummer, all pleasures, one or many are happily read here, lovely to "see" you back
1. DD came in to my bed at quarter past 6 this morning and was delighted that I immediately burst into a fine rendition of "Happy Birthday"I brought her presents up to bed and she loved them all, especially the tutu that my DB and his GF bought her, she wore it for dinner tonight!
2. The sun shining again, hope we get another day of it tomorrow, but if we don't, we've had a few good days which is fabulous!
3. DD's dentist visit went well, he said her teeth are fine and not to worry about the grown up teeth coming in before the baby teeth have fallen out
4. DD sang me Frere Jacques as part of our evening lullabies - quelle surprise, she's in my bed again tonight, but hey, it's her birthday, she's allowed lots of treats!
5. Had some lovely chats with people at the gym at lunchtime, people are friendly once they see you going reasonably regularly!0
