1. The school visit was lovely, I really like the place, so fingers crossed.
2. Missed the dullest English seminar in the world - hoorah!
3. Last lecture of the day was nice and short, as it was just telling us similar stuff about placement to the last 2, so going over old ground.
4. I met up with the course supreme leader to have a bit of a chat about my slight concern with teaching a wide age range in such a tiny school....she was nice - and I didn't cry
5. Took out some awesome books from the library
6. DD has tucked me up in bed as I'm cream-crackered tonight!0 -

2. Boarding Pass printed. Cbs/H'row coach tkt printed, bearing journey ref. HUTT-12345. & was born outside Wellington in a little place called Lower Hutt, way back when. Early-ish cab booked, as previous transport contacts are not well enough for me to ask.
3. Ridiculous Hurrrrrrrrchurs and enjoyable irate/displeased discussion on Feedback Silly wedding episode.
4. Good talk with France just now -

mcculloch - glad you came to play at Nelson Park School. How lucky we were in our education and surroundings there. The earthquake threw up the land which is now our little airport.
dfv - you make such generous attentive posts...and will manage nålbinding socks aussi. I have very suitable spun yarn, if June ain't too late and you're still struggling? Lovely to play algebra, very satisfying branch of Maths[&known to doodle simultaneous equations to see if brain still works - always liked them, still do.] Felicitations to son on work experience placement.
Back to packing, weight guessing wildly[bathroom scales of ancience poss. correct to 20 kilos-ish]. Barbour or Burberry of most numerous pockets to charge up[worth another 7>8 kgs easily] with crowning glory:p well de-grayed, red hank renewed@College Salon hier.

Be ready to wave mhags - spotted you 2 years ago:D.
Farewell for the now...with extra special thoughts to chicken, pk, skint, kiwiblue and all who people my thoughts and concerns, plus our wider world.

A quickie from the other side of the world.. It is morning here in Seoul
Pleasures for last several days and half days - kind of woke up yesterday, had breakfast, then it was nearly bed time. .this travelling lark can be odd.
1 finished outstanding exam paper marking - only one complaint :T
2 leg improving
3 SiL posted lovely pic of DS and I on FB. He won't let us take many pictures now so any we get must be cherished
4 delayed flight into Schipol meant that there was angst regarding connection. Fortunately (?) all flights were delayed so made it ok.
5 flights ok and I managed to sleep on long flight
6 but not before watching "saving mr banks" which is one of the loveliest films I have seen in a long time
7 interesting chat on the Seoul metro with an ex Korean Army pilot now flight instructor. I love public transport it is so interesting.
8 yummy steak risotto and cheeky glass of vino. I was craving steak but didn't want to pay a fortune so the risotto was perfect. Still a bit uncomfortable eating in a restaurant alone, but my trusty kindle provided good "hiding in plain sight"
9 slept the night through, thanks mostly to Nytol but you gotta do what you gotta do
10 Gangnam style :-D. Walked down "ubiquitous Media Street of Gangnam" it's not "Acacia Avenue" is it?
Off to talk for 8 hours solid, sleep tight allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
dfv pizza and irn bru lol sounds like a candidate for vickya's fat friday
Have a fab time & and you vjsmum
Thank goodness it's weekend, though the weather is so foggy when i went to walk the dawgs i couldn't see the top or the bottom of our road! 5 for yesterday
1) took flask ds gave me for xmas and filled it with left over coffee after seminar for afternoon in library
2) seminar excellent and took left over cake to security guys
3) walked home. It was very cold and wet but another £1.80 saved for my venice holiday in 2016
4) ds and dd2 home for supper. Xoh cooked while i thawed out
5) watched girl with the pearl earring. Had read the book but not seen the film before. Curled up on the sofa with the dogs and a wine glass of dry cider - a good way to end an exhausting weekMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

BoP - that's what I was missing! Fish! Have to admit to preferring cricket - the lines have more curves if that makes sense?
Kittikins - be warned nålbinding can be addictive & abrasive - wool is Rough Stuff! Glad Supreme Leader was nice & that daughter has you well tucked in!
Frith - thank you! Will add the roman coin to my mischievous funeral plan. Simnel cake - I really miss various relatives who were devout in the kitchen. I could always have a swing myself but I'm the marzipan addict of the house. Hurrah Fb & seeing photos - all American relatives will be able to see family fine & happy & spare themselves complex timed phone calls!
VickyA - of broadening, altering, bending & expanding, I reckoned the latter suggested the most without actually implying anything specific other then growth! Love Fat Friday idea - and share satisfaction of towel wash (not least as harvest the fluff from the two in dryer for fire-lighting.)
Sparrer - one of the satisfactions of gardening is a new thanks for rain where otherwise it's lugging watering cans etc. Hope recovery flowers soon!
Ampersand - titian haired temptress, have a glorious time! Always wear heaviest, biggest pocketed garb par avion - if only so heatwave wherever you land!
VJsmum - you made it! Thank you for tip on Saving Mr Banks & hurrah cloak of barely visible powers of Kindle! Public transport abroad is fun - more time & space to appreciate strangenesses!
DD - lads fearsome possessive of their IronBru - you really do have to Ask Nicely! Remaining cake to security? Brilliant - you'll find that a very shrewd investment as they know all sorts of useful things... Sofa, dogs, cider - sounds wonderful!
OS Pleasures
Husband cooked 2 sorts of bannock (not quite porridge in biscuit form!) - oats, barley, raisins - one slab & a brew & even the lads feel full!
Flag practice with Scouts ready for parade tomorrow - the Beavers look so Tiny compared to the Explorers! (Senior leaders all pretty senior - this is clearly good for longevity.)
My opinion sought on a very battered brassard - we *could* extend its life with a new base piece & stitching but for tomorrow, PVA & a watchful eye.
Stitching on my own Scout badges! Still faintly bashful but clearly tagged as belonging.
Rain or no rain, will plant peas. Do I coax gardener's mate out of bed or let Saturday breakfast get him upright?!
Big hugs to all who need them, happy travels & returns to all who journey (including those who haven't posted for a while) & kettles' on!0 -
Thank you DfV. Your encouragement is like a warm hug.
I will do my best with my job however the effect of the stress on my relationships means I am fingers crossed with my application. Fairy dust has apparently been cast so I am keeping hopeful and trying lots of hugs.
Green gym sounds fun, you are a busy bee.
I may have slightly mislead about my Harry Rs. Mine come from a box in the frozen aisle. We have no restaurants near sadly. Thanks all for the tips though. Nothing like fab f&c. I'm told our local pub is excellent but I am trying to be a supersaver. If my application is successful that will be my treat.
My 5 for today/yesterday are:
1. Getting there with the accounts
2. People leaving me alone for a change
3. Managing a situation well due to my organisation (I love it when a plan comes together)
4. Do with some new and old colleagues and able to build some support contacts
5. A no work day today
6. DH paid so bills sorted for the month ahead and a little bonus
7. A good rest today planned:)OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10
