Do you mean I look like Bopsie, BoP? How did you work out which one is me?!

    Good pic, VJsmum.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Took a hanging basket and sweet pea tripod to my sister's house (with my brother). She is still on honeymoon so we broke into her garden (using a pair of scissors to move the gate lock!) and left the stuff round the back. There were 2 glasses of what looked like the remains of bucks fizz left on their kitchen table. :-)

    3) Went to see my friend's mum in Worcester to pick up Easter presents for sons and also a Dr Who duvet cover my friend had seen in a charity shop and thought would be good for bigger son.

    4) Dropped brother in law's waistcoat off in possibly the quaintest shop I have ever been in. The man actually said "Thanking you" as I left!

    5) Lunch at dad's (mum on holiday). Carrot soup for lunch.

    6) Did lots of college work this afternoon (and another hour completed just now).

    7) Had a tidy up and cleared under the stairs and went through the food cupboard.

    8) Put a few bits on Ebay.

    9) Went to see dad and brother for tea. I took a beetroot tarte (Hugh FW recipe) and dad had cooked some lamb, peas, sweetcorn, baked pots, HM gravy and some rhubarb!

    10) Lots of texts from sons and they popped in this afternoon as they had come to pick the go kart up.

    11) Bed just now and will watch Holby City.

Frith - I see no mention of pics, fence line, dealing with. NOMB of course[never stopped & yet] but don't see reasons not to? 'Sons away' seems a good time for doing this, with firm but fair letter/note/time limit to the N's.
    Please...:-)
    This too for you:

I thought the person I decided was you looked lovely, très WOTY, but didn't see the children you referred to, unless yourselves in rel.to your DP's.

In middle of rather big sth which has suddenly cropped up. NZ related, but nothing to do with getting & to Heathrow in time...it'll happen somehow.

Morning, Ampersand. Did you look at the Quaker blog link picture? With the jolly children at the right? :-)

No mention of fence from MrN but he gas replaced the gutter down pipe after 2 years so we no longer get soaked when we walk to our house. Downloaded land registry map (too small a scale to be clear). Haven't phoned council for advice yet. No pics at all from "before" because it's a weird corner of my garden so no reason to take any of that bit.

    Morning

LFS - Belated happy birthday wishes
Frith - Wedding sounds like a lovely occasion
Ampersand - Please take care of yourself

Pleasures for the last couple of days
    1. Lovely, lovely long weekend at parents.
    2. Managed to get seats both ways on the ridiculously busy train.
    3. Took DM and DD to the local theatre to see a very funny if slightly rude play for DM's birthday which is today. She was happy to have an early present. Price of 3 tickets similar to price of 1 ticket for the West End.
    4. Great catch up with Best Friend and her DD along with my DD. We all went for posh Champagne Cocktails in a great little bar (it just happens to be owned by by DB).
    5. Lovely catch up with DB and DN again at their bar with DD. Oh to have the powers of recovery that an 18 year old has from having one too many while I was on water she had a Raspberry Bellini.
    6. Found a lovely Black Scotty Dog while at parents. There was no sign of anyone missing her so took her to the vets to be scanned for a chip. Luckily she was chipped so owners contacted, they were away overnight and she must have escaped when someone went to check on her so they were relieved to have her found. We were glad she was reunited with owners but DF would have happily kept her.
    7. Lots of doggy cuddles off parents Westie. He followed me everywhere and at night even slept on the bottom of my bed. He is a very cute if slightly naughty doggy.
    8. Nice to get home and back to my own bed

McCulloch - I made a trip to N.A over the weekend to my aunts house. I have got to say I was impressed by how clean and neat it was especially all the flower beds and grass verges not at all as I remembered.

:TMorning all - thanks for the sympathy re my rainbow coloured leg
Bop - forgot it was Earth Day, and I missed Earth hour. Will have to do something to make up
Sparrer - Didn't tty the prunes - they don't like me :o though I love them
CCP - have a nice break
Supersaver - Ooh ef and see. I prefer other people's to my own!
Kittikins - thanks, pain killers seems to be the way forward. Family are nagging me to go to Doctors / A&E, but I am not sure what they can do. I can't take very strong pain killers anyway and I am afraid they'll say I shouldn't go to Seoul. If anything is still amiss when I get back next week I will go. Am so excited for you with your new start
LFS - rat! Your post reads that you overfed mate with 10 tins of condensed milk.
DD - your DD is doing the right thing for her - there will be her way and she will find it. My DS will not be a degree person either, and he knows he will have to start at the bottom and work up - the same as his dad (who does have a degree, but couldn't get a job in the early 80's recession)
VickyA - welcome back. I am in Amsterdam on Tuesday on my way back from Seoul. I have about 15 hours, plan to go to the Rijksmuseum and a boat trip. Lunch in my fave pancake house near the Anne Frank Museum. Not sure what else - depends on time.
Frith - Gosh, I wish I was as productive as you :T
Ampersand - have an amazing trip
Tealady - well done on dog find.

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. dicky leg a good excuse to not go in to work. THey are OK about it. Struggled to get motivated, but did do a book review for which I will receive a bundle of free books. Also caught up on emails.
    2. No fresh food in house but used up some bits from freezer for lunch
    3. OH did shopping - glad I am not eating most of it as I am away. A real mans shop - pies, ready meals, bacon.
    4. But he did get sausage mash and beans for tea - just what the doctor ordered.
    5. A soak in the bath with the Archers - Tom and Krusty, will they? won't they?

Getting stuck into the marking today, which will be another thing ticked off. May reward myself with Jimmy Perez later.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Let’s get ready to Stumble

Daisy wheel printer, that will be like a steam driven typewriter with double kylchap blastpipe for extra speed! Frith, the things nightmares were made for! Just like a massive tatties field. We need pictorial coverage of this. Earth day. We need no special day, just take what you need, live a little, love a lot. But when up the creek, paddle your own canoe! Oh, forgets, the old typing pool. A den of perfumery infused wisdom and fear. Apprentices entered, but most were ridden and eaten up before lunch.

Suppose nowadays it is pdf and be done! Lunch, more real claw sandwiches again and again and again.

5 Victory, victory. Now I nose yous lot would had put your money and house on BoP looooosing it, or 4 on the bounce at Scrabble, but fear not me harties. I won. So there. Pip squeal and all things. No wobbleades were used during the contest, only proper cocoa, not that instant powder nuclear infusion mixed with citrus carp. Just cocoa, bit of milk and sugar. Makes you sleep.

4 On the bounce did not BoPsie gett. Though she tried, but I managed to lay OUTRAGE on two double words. 84 scored, and a disaster averted. BoP still championi. It the last result that counts. As BoPsie keeps the jotter with all the scores in it, there was a chance that some pages could be torn out and history rewritten. Except BoPsie has decided to scan some pages in!

3 Yestdi, Raffles did his strutting along. BoPsie was upstairs, and caught a glimpse of Raffles striding along the fence and decided to call him from the upstairs window. He leapt, full on, to the conservatory, straddling the apex, in an attempt to enter via the bedroom window. He failed, extravagantly and is licking his paws.

2 I see the railway mechanics Institute is in turmoil over who has the right to pump up the ball before a knock about. I can bring you good news on this. I hear the Borussia Dortmund manager, Jurgen Klopp has ruled himself out of consideration for the sudden vacancy. His uncle. Clippardy is suggested as a suitable replacement.

1 No Toads were found in the vicinity last night.

Double Kylchap blastpipe, used for extra suction, so the draught roars over the fire. Used by Sir Nigel Gresley on Mallard.

I like Harry Ramsden's (think they are the tastiest) - preferably when on offer. Chippies done in my halogen oven are juicy, but the Arsda ones I bought are a bit hit and miss (lots of crunchy scraps) which is okay when you have better teeth than mine. Still was all delish. :) Same tonight I think :):)

and I ate most of a
1.Lindt Chocolate Egg - gifted to me by 'nasty work' .....
    2.....which wasn't nasty today.... :o
3.Run round the park with DD (difficult with all that choc in my tum).
    4. Free lunch (yums)
    5. Met up with some nice people I know
    6. Off to have a shower, a relax and an early night with my ef and see's.

  • I has just got home and ignored Raffles. As BoPsie is out doing girlie bits, I have not fed him.

No worries, he has nipped out a grabbed his own toad! BoP has rescued said toad, much to his annoyance.

SS. Soap and water for even mentioning Mr Ramsden. In Grimsby, we water on his fish!

If you want proper fish and chips you need to go here.

    Okay, not long in.

1.Nothing packed or forward achieved today...only more:mad:catch-ups. Optician fixed glasses. Bon. Then 30 miles other direction:mad: - consecutive days now, with lappie again, for J, head fixit blokie, to sort for & to use in land of kiwis. Looks promising, maybe.

    2. Comfy chat and world righted with neighbour this a.m. on my way out. Gave over some excess fruit for bunnies - down to 4 Giants now and they are!
    Muntjac size,

    3. Off-loaded lots to storage - big hooray.

    4. Several hours on more of NZ situ/prob this a.m. Epiphany moment of Thanks for modern comms.

    5. Called on friend in near village, otherwise unlikely to see her before leaving. Surgery was nearly a year ago and things are just not right. One of those occasions when time had to spill and flow...we walked round the garden, noting each growing of bud and leaf and flower in warm sun, but aware we were noting other things, in concern and friendship. Madame Duck has arrived in this long, narrow, every inch used, village garden, and laid 2 utterly unlikely eggs, tucked up to old brick wall, completely hidden by tumbling creeper. She let us peep carefully!

vjm - that is a wonderful pic and experience and Eeek rainbow leg. Happened to me in days gone by with R, vaguely sparrershire-wards[St Neots]. Scary. I was trapped between boat and high metal piling in a lock, no purchase or grip anywhere; swirly ingress water pushing me down.
Frith - I'm off to look again after this:-)
ss1000 - think I need some choc and early bed aussi.
bop - I'm enjoying Raffles vs Lady Bopsie for The Challenge Brush. But OUTRAGE is &reaction to this appalling scrabbler's reversal. May your effinceas be rapt in those missing pages by the historiographer as she rescribes.
Is Raffles a...how to put this delicato?...a Vetted gentleman? Yes, I believe so. I feel his manly pain if not:eek: I'm sure consoling treats in number are being plied as we speak.

Still trying to Jimmy Perez likewise vjm, Yes, [yawn]we all knew what was coming...- tumti-tumti-tumti-tum, tumti-tumti-TAH-dah. Now I may not like Tom, but rasping voice Krusty and screeching spilt dress blahblah Henry storyline were becoming too much to bear. Peggy was struggling with Conveyed Script tonight, I thought, and Tony Newvoice's about turn+defunct John just didn't work. All Moyes'ed - while we 5 OSP writers are newly engaged as of now:T
Mainlining on hier's Dr's painkillers, unlike & - just wish agony would stop. Trapped sciatic nerve from last week's weird falling about. Anyone else had it? How long does it last? Any advice?
    #
Well, now apprised of Raffles update. I am still wearing my toad I see, phew - had to check: leg unripped. Am I mistaken? I believe we've had f+c boastings before. bop - I'll see your Steels [I do like web designer suckerfish, very lamprey] and raise you The Frying Dutchman....
