    A pleasure-ly leisurely day off !
A cool start to the day but it certainly warmed up to hot! Was 31o this afternoon, to be cooler tomorrow .

Good sleep, woke up in my time!

Visit to the podiatrist again, I have turquoise blue feet now! ( wondering what on earth I'm going to wear on my feet on a night out tomorrow !) the taping makes such a difference. Orthotic inserts for shoes ordered at gasp amount of dollars! However, we will be able to claim back from medical insurance.

Hop skip and a jump home with my blue feet and potter , potter kind of day. Washings ( and yet more washing) done and ironing done whilst watching some catch up TV.

Made lemon slice and the hugest brownie ever! It's the recipe I have for work! I'm not expecting it to last very long in this house!

    Made a chilli for dinner.

Got a bit of gardening done. Replanted a lavender plant, I split it into 3 plants, hoping they grow. This was a very rtc plant I bought in August ( bought 4 of them , all they needed was a good drink) also moved a passiflora from a pot to the ground.

Took DD1 to podiatrist, who removed an ingrown toenail. He is lovely!
    She was very brave.

Had the biggest giggle with DD2 ...we were laughing at peoples 'selfies' on Facebook! Of course I look just as gorgeous with or without makeup!

Right I'm off to put the rice on for tea and make some guacamole with a scary avocado ! Have a fabulous day :)

kittikins boo hiss to assessor! You have had good feedback from the kids you are teaching....onwards and upwards!

    Morning

DFV - Frozen grapes are lovely when you have a sore throat, they are so refreshing and soothing.
    VickyA - Belated birthday wishes
Ampersand - :j:j:j:j:j at news from hospital

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Met friend for lunch at fav noodle bar, twas yummy and great to catch up.
    2. Parents safely back from holiday and had a great time. Shame they had to come home to problems with house renovations but those seem to be sorted in the main now so all good.
    3. Went shopping in the cupboard at home for friends birthday present . I got her a lovely makeup bag filled with hand cream, body lotion. lip balm and nail file. I love shopping in my present cupboard :money:
    4. Made a minced beef and onion pie for dinner but broke the law as no yum on the top :o but thought I could be excused as used the left over pastry for jam tarts and also some cheese and pepperoni square things.
    5. Accounts all upto date for the small charity I am treasurer for as is out AGM tonight. Cheated with the cakes for the sale as the target audience is 11-15 just bought some value cup cakes which I have iced and stuck some haribo sweets on. So have 36 cakes for about £2 spend. I know I could have made them cheaper but time was not on my side.
    6. DD has her laptop back all fixed and grandad paid for the repair in exchange for cuddles from her :)

hugs to all who need them and hope all poorlies are feeling better
  • This message is brought to you in as state of hysterics. If, again you are of little amused read on. Squeamish, look away now.

5 Raffles has acquired another grass snake and has eaten half of him already.

4, 3, 2 BoPette is outside on the Plaza de BoP. The weather is not looking good, where I am to the West, rain has started.

1 I am currently active on the southern face of the salt Mine and will not be on the bridge until about a quarter to 6, and that is still 25 miles from home.

To save reposting yous lot later, I car share and we leave at 5!

    Oh dear, poor snake! :(

Kittikins - hope today was a better day for you.

    1) Messing around on g00gle maps looking at the area around my hotel, and realising that it's in the most fantastic location - I think I've got myself something of a bargain (by London standards, anyway!).

    2) Got the paperwork for my appraisal done - it's meant to be done two weeks before the appraisal, and luckily my nice manager didn't mind that it's actually only two days before. :o

    3) Treated myself to an M&S meal deal, and am currently pondering whether to have a glass from the bottle of wine that came with it. (Erm... yes. Pondering over!)

    4) I wasn't planning on going to the pub quiz tonight, and I'm pleased about that as it's not at all a nice night out there now.

    5) Found an old TP dramatisation on 5ky, for free, which will keep me entertained instead. :)
Back after a very long break!

Just in - freezing nasties out there and the wind's ripping up again, so thank goodness-

    1. that new fence panels are finally up[in time to be blown down, je me demande?], done by neighbour's bro. Paid him en route to prayer brekkie, which was right again. Gave Alan Bennet Talking Heads audio books[they were in car]to someone who lurves this parody:
    http://www.wepsite.de/sermon.htm

    2. £70 marmalade money totted up! I was amazed, but so pleased. This money will do +£1k equivalent in little school, where all hunger to learn.

    3. A VERY useful phone call for next week.

    4. Picked up a few bits/starter kit at our CS for x[last visit tomorrow]then...good talk with another who cares.

    5. Utterly predictable - bank card wallet jumped up and down nah-ni-nah-ing at me on way out this morning. Alright, I've re-ordered Bank/Mr T cards - but it's so good to have everything else back, after almost a fortnight and I swear I loop-jcb'd &squat until until until.

Feeling very tired all arvo. The return of bitter cold does this.
You're wise ccp and Madame Diva[do like that]will insist.
Au lit for me - bonne nuit.

Thanks for the reminder McCulloch xx

    1. Despite things, I got through the day at school.

    2. I have appreciated that my mind is in a bad place and so I am going to try and see the doctor as soon as possible.

    3. I have been sensible and shared most of how I'm feeling with my folks (not DD, I'm not too irresponsible, she just knows I'm feeling tired and stressed, that's enough), so they are doing their best to support me.

    4. I tried to speak to my teacher today about how I'm feeling. A positive, but the negative is that she was acting head today and lots of stuff kicked off, so we didn't get to talk. Oh well.

    5. It's Friday tomorrow.

<<hugs>> Kittikins, a big and brave first step. You have had a life changing event in more ways than one. House career relationship (IIRC). It takes its toll eventually. Seeing the doc is the right thing to do

    Hugs to all the poorlies

I am just about saying upright, DforV, hope you are too

    Today's pleasures

1 DS has two random inset days so I didn't have to run round like a mad thing quite so much. He has been train travelling and revising all day.
2 went house cleaning prior to putting new house on the letting market. By crockery (ha autocorrect) crikey it is dirty. It's like they had a massive fry up and then just walked out. Enjoyed four hours boogeying along to the radio and a job part well done. Lots to do though
3 didn't go to work or do any work, for the first time in what feels like ages
4 started the 5:2 diet today. It's been ok. I am going to do it for 3 weeks before my holiday and see if I can do it. If I get used to it than I will continue when I come home. Saw someone in the mirror the other day that I didn't recognise, lumps and bumps that I didn't like. Had slice ham and slice cheese with melon and tomatoes for breakfast, and prawn stir fry for tea. But tomorrow I can eat what I want :T
5 having the rest of the evening off.

    Have a nice evening everyone.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

KK, some very sensible moves there. Hopefully your teacher will have time tomorrow for you.
    Can now put together 5.
    1. Was worried for Dr C. as he had to attend a funeral service for a former work colleague today. The full circumstances of the young man's death are still not fully clear. It was a lovely service, he said, and not the harrowing ordeal that funerals for young people so often are.

    2. A!di had my favourite facial serum back in stock. Hooray, hooray!

    3. Howling gale today, but unusually, it wasn't head-on on my route into town cycling. It almost always is, other than when it's an easterly and head on coming back from town.

I had a TG moment when my rucksack, not properly clipped on, fell off the pile of shopping on the back of the trike, and this was promptly pointed out to me - by a lady who is one of my fellow trike riders, though she was on foot today. Just before this, I had let two people in front of me in the queue at Heron, that was quick karma.

    4. Filo pastry was in Heron again. £1.50 each in W8rose or Tesco, 3 for £1 or 40p each in Heron. Now in freezer.

    5. My Jocasta Innes cookbook has arrived already. :)
For a book that is 22 years old, it's in excellent condition. I feel slightly sad, though.
It has a nice dedication 'To Debbie, Supercook of 1991, Happy Christmas from Jane 24.12.91'.
But the pages were pristine - on first taking it out I had thought it was a new book. Unlike my other Jocasta books, it's a hardback.
Sad, then, that 'Debbie The Supercook' never bothered to read it or try a recipe, unless she had the knack of keeping a book in immaculate condition when doing so.
Many of the people reviewing The Paupers' Cookbook were former owners whose copies had disintegrated from over-use.

    6. Amazon Vine night.
Joy of joys, I have a new Roberts digital radio en-route, cutely compact, that I can use to listen to 6 Music and 4 Xtra in the kitchen. No more muffled highlights filtering through from the lounge.
Also a remote controlled car for DGS, though reviews state it may be less than robust and reliable. Oh well.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

    Good evening everyone :hello:

Kittikins - You are doing your very, very best. As others have said, you are getting great feedback from the children. If they are motivated to learn by you then they will succeed. Also, you're half way through the year AND you've had positive feedback from a potential employer. You could come and be my student teacher. I'm hoping that my current students think that I'm helpful and supportive; I definitely find the good in the lessons which I observe!

Last night's meal was divine. I might get used to the highlife.

Unfortunately, yesterday morning I had a bit of a meltdown. Far too much to go into here and only some of it was to do with work. The headteacher sent me home in a sobbing heap, so my observation has been postponed until just before the hols!

So, my pleasures for the past couple of days:

    1) A meal out with DH last night! :D

    2) Was on a course this morning, so I walked to the venue and walked back home again.

    3) Paid my birthday money into the bank on my walk back home & have added the totals to my spreadsheet.

    4) Similarly paid £40 worth of £2 coins in, so this has been added to my savings for my road tax, due in October.

    5) £40 payable on TopCashBack! :j :j Duly added to my spreadsheet too. All seems a little spreadsheety today, doesn't it?!

    6) After last night's extravagant meal, tonight was HM bolognese from the freezer! :D

    Night all xxx
