Bit of a storm going on, lashing rain , thunder and lightning. It's been threatening all day and has finally happened. Hurrah for rain for the garden and glad to be in rather than out.
Woke early. Gave mum a call, very sad about cat.
Then phoned MIL for a chat
Watered the veggies, hung the washing out and then went into work for 3 hours as a favour to interesting staff dynamic Person! ( she is kindly going to work my Sunday in a couple of weeks when it's my birthday) , so whilst I was dreading it a bit as Saturdays can be very busy, it was actually rather gentle and quite enjoyable! Also worked with 2 of the nice girls I don't normally see
OH dripped me off and picked me up and then we went for a spot of lunch which was very nice.
Then made a make shift frame for the peas....they have grown and grown and needed more height....cue rtc valentines twine coming into use! All very blue peter with some canes and lots of string but hopefully does the trick.
Then the great passport photo taking hunt.....ended up back at the photo booth that we first started at having trawled round the photo shops. I looked rather presentable when I left the car but had obviously been invaded by an alien by the time I left the booth! Passport photo shocker....but not just me , OH and DD1 and DS too.
Then home and in for the night
Have a lovely day0 -

Morning all,
Five more pleasures:
1. All your pleasures. It's very grounding reading pleasures.
2. Am getting to grips with tons of 'stuff'/rubbish/disorder and am on a roll. So much shredding and filing is being done and today the plan is to complete the business accounts for this year ready for April 5th. My American 'motivational' library audiobook lady is helping a lot. I ignore all her supermum-type chapters though! :rotfl:
3. Still haven't seen my mum so my windowsill is now boasting a flowerpot full of beautiful tete-a-tete daffs in full bloom. (I shall have to return to the shop and see if they have another that's just in bud that I can get for her so she can enjoy the blossoming too.) Heigh ho. It's been worth the £1 spend on me though!
4. The plan is that we should be getting a new washing machine next week. :T I managed to do another trip to the laundrette yesterday though and did accounts while I was waiting - felt very virtuous.
5. My pedometer has died for good. It has been telling me lies for a week or two following it's traumatic wash ('67 steps' after a really busy day was a whopper!). I've put step counting on hold until I can afford a new one that tells the truth. However, I've put myself on max dose tablets and am feeling as if I'm getting better and energy is returning (please don't let me be speaking too soon) so I'm sure I'm increasing my activity anyway. The trend is in the right direction.
oh and an extra one for all you old BBC radio iplayer lovers...
6. Go onto the Welsh version of the site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/cy/radio then click 'Dim Diolch'. Then, if you can't cope with reading Welsh, get the system to translate it. In Google Chrome that means right clicking and then asking to translate into English. Hey presto, you are back on the old, sane, BBC radio iplayer site, for a short while anyway, until the powers that be decide to wreck this too. It's lovely to be able to use it again even though I know it will be time limited.
Enjoy the yellow thing wherever you are.
B x
Edited to add a PS. I put this on another thread but I hope you don't mind me sticking it here as well in case anyone else was interested in signing. Jack Munroe has started a new petition on change.org before the March 19th budget calling for every budget to have a 'hunger test'.

Lovely, lovely day.
1. We went picking up logs againso we now have another 14 foot odd trailers worth which I have been told is around £300 worth of wood :O for FREE!!
2. and my mate came too, the one who heats or eats, and he got a trailer full too!! For FREE! So he can heat and eat
3. And I'd made him rock buns as a treat and he took what was left home
4. DS is now with his dad so it is quiet...shhhh..I can feel the calm enveloping me!
5. Beautiful dark green organza to make a summer door curtain for my portchIts such a lovely colour! And I have a proper stretchy cord thing instead of drawing pins! And it was £1.27 a metre:D I want to wrap myself in it or make fairy wings!!

Ampersand: you sound like you have a lovely busy life, and a wonderful family communication over the pond.
1. After dragging myself out of bed earlier than on a work day it was really worth it absolutely loved the days training.:j
2. It finished a little early so headed to the garden of course, replaced the glass cleared up, and cleaned up the greenhouse:)
3. Made a big salad, grilled a burger for dinner.
4. About to have a lovely pear cider, with a scone, jam and squirty light cream? If there is such a thing?:rotfl:
5. Took some macro photography of bumble bees on crocus’s0 -
1. Bumblebee and butterfly and lacewing and B-I-I-I-G hyacinths out in garden, 2 white, 2 purple.
2. Neighbbour's dear bro. may come and put up fence panels. Have given up on friend's son, who owes me 14 hrs labour. Didn't want to bother friend, as her major surgery is being a long, slow haul with post-op incompetence adding to the mix.
3. Yellow thing- but that sharp wind is still here.
4. Some glorious 6N footie this arvo. In NZ next month, shan't have to sow confusion re: 'footie'. No other word there. The other thing is 'soccer'. Wales as managed by &Gat found themselves again. Scotland's discipline imploded. Brainectomy pre-match, methinks. France vs Ireland was a glorious testimony to Rugby as she should etc.etc. and only just a fair result, but more than that a Just one, on this BOD day of days - and again, he played well. But oh, my Basta boy...parce que Toulon!
-and, how could I forget? I'm also 6N winning Mgr as PalmyNth&Joe S.
5. Won't allow me to thank but thank you for continuing to post pleasures....they really do make me smile and are a part of my day
So back to work today ...with a bit of a twist. My boss took over my duties and I did hers....except she's not used to doing all of what I do and I now have lots of extra stuff to do tomorrow...bit of a different Sunday for me, had to work an hour and half extra too.
Good drive to and from work , free parking on a Sunday .
Came home with 2 bags of food!
Then we went over to our friends house. He was signing our highly unattractive passport photos and forms! Sat and had a good blether. Their lounge overlooks bush land and we saw a mob of kangaroos bounce past which was amazing and some beautiful red parrots.
Had takeaway for dinner , 2 portions served us all. So a tiny bit money saving! And a big bit delicious!
The lorikeets ( google) were all returning to roost , the noise is terrific.
the trees shimmy and shake.
Have a lovely day0 -
Afternoon all, what a glorious day
I am emerging from the marking tunnel and what wonderful sunlight awaited me!I have to go slowly putting my world back together after everything else has had to get by for a week or two - if I go at it like a bull at a gate, I will run out of steam fast.
VickyA - What a lovely thing for your pupil to say. Makes it all worth while
Frith - I love those bingo prizes, winning a dinner, perfect
DD - I love the idea of knitting diseases. Maybe I should get my lot knitting foundations and steelwork - especially as they are nearly all lads :rotfl:
Mhags - LOL at passports. My friend's are always cracking but everyone else I know has shockers. Wow Kangaroos
Skint - Glad cold is going. Seems to be a lot of it about.
Broomstick - I love daffodils
LFS - Ooh I haven't made rock buns for yeeearrrrs
PK - Sorry about the greenhouse - what to$$ers
Ampersand - lovely jacket
My pleasures for yesterday
1. This is a pleasure for you all as I should stop banging on about it, but have finished very big, very late batch of marking. :T I will have more but it should all be manageable now.
2. Managed to get out for a walk, yesterday afternoon. Lovely blossom, lovely daffs, lovely tulips, lovely sun
3. Did some baking - banana bread and lemon and lime drizzle. Family favourites
4. Left over left over curry for tea - i'd defrosted too much on Friday so we had the left overs.
5. DS went to the footie for his birthday treat (15 on Tuesday!), with his mate and OH. OH has had "the cold" (or pneumonia, depending on which one of us you talk to :rotfl:), but was well enough to take them - so I didn't have to. Their team amazingly won so all were happy!
Right, been out shopping for DS birthday today and most things acquired, except "main Present" but DS is going to have to come with us to choose as it is a laptop. Going to juggle washing, cook lasagne and tidy up ready for when my lovely sister arrives - she is on a course in our town and so is staying a few days which is :j and :TI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Weekend pleasures:
1. Spendy, but fun day yesterday! Nail varnish, make up, YS smellies in Carbtree & Evellynlovely summery clothes for DD.....
2. My friend couldn't get to the town in time for lunch, so I had a yummy picnic (of YS salad and fruit salad from M&$) in the park and
3. Chatted to lots of lovely people in the park.
4. DD's birthday party was a huge success
5. I made my own pizza too!
6. DD gave the lovely manageress who taught us how to do our pizzas a piece of her cake - A was so pleased, she put a picture of it on FB, how cute!
7. DD is now 9, and started the day in our traditional way, by spending the night in my bed and having lots of cuddles and reminiscing about what it was like when she was a baby
8. Sat outside under the gazebo and have done some lesson planning for the week
