    Morning

LFS - Glad DS is getting some help. Mental illness can be so frustrating for those who have to look on (my DM suffers) but all we can do is be there when needed. Your children know you are a fantastic mum and will always do right by them ((((hugs))))

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Another NSD
    2. When a member of staff was asking some very intrusive personal questions I kept calm and just told her it was none of her business and not to _____ off, I will let you fill in the gap ;)
    3. Naughty but nice dinner that included cheesy bacon chips, yum yum
    4. DD enjoying the treat of a posh milkshake for her and a friend that is having a hard time thanks to Mr.T vouchers.
    5. Nice walk home from work, the parakeets are out in force again. They are very noisy but still an impressive site. They tend to settle in a tree that has no leaves yet so make the tree look like it is full of big green leaves moving in the wind.

Hugs to all who need them
  • Everybody’s playing the game.

Blanks, naughties. Ironing and cows. Of curse, Esso Blue! Snorker, onion in a roll. Snorker, gals. Stay on the day tablets. Has to be a squirty egg sandwich, real mess. Cooking apple peel. That’s lick toe nailed onions. Yummy! My money is on a hoss. Going grey. No, BoP never went rusty. Proper gravy, has curdled onions, bit of salt. Touch of corn flour, sage, dollop of seeded raspberry jam. Spun round pan of meat drips. Flavour to taste. BoPette bought bisto once. It has been out of date for 25 years. Aye, deleting them means they are not answered. If they were urgent, they would come to mes desk. And I did get into BoPette’s smalls drawers once. And look at my chopped fingers.
:heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls:heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls :heartpuls

No more claw sandwich this week, thank you. It tastes like an old beach and is full of sand.

5 Yellow stuff organised for the morning, but look away now if you drive a bmw or are squeamish and fear little things.

4 Always is nice to go past at 70 mph a crimped bmw. Occupants on hard should, no other crimped vehicle in the vicinity.

3 Forgets to say, that Monday passing, Ms BoPette was out in yard with raffles cat, and he had a grass snake about the size of my little finger. BoPette did not now at thirst what it was, but called for her hero. BoP soon had the situation under total control, chases BoPette around the yard. BoPette soon retorted on faceBuck that it was a fifteen foot boa constrictor. And that BoP was lucky to survive.

2 And survuive your BoP did, to tell you all that I have retained control of the yellow thing and this weekend should be a stunner

1 But nobody’s rules are the same!

    Pleasures for yesterday:

    1) Treated myself to lunch from my favourite sandwich shop, which closed three months ago only to re-open on Monday, much to the delight of its many fans. :j (I had to suspect, though, that the chillies in their HM chilli chicken sandwich filling had been maturing the whole time they were closed - yikes, it was hot!)

    2) Listening to the foghorns blaring away, a noise I never get tired of.

    3) Realising late in the afternoon that, while I was tired, I was nowhere near as mind-numbingly exhausted as I have been recently, so I think I'm finally shaking off this nasty bug.

    4) Got home to find another competition prize on my doormat - it's another book, this time a non-fiction one about the Kinks, a band I dearly love. :)

    5) Decided I was awake enough to go to the pub quiz, and found that my sleepy brain was an advantage, coming up with answers I don't think I would know normally. (Such as 'what is special about a sessile leaf?' - answer is that it has no stalk - why / how do I know that?!:huh::huh:)

5b) Came home with a bottle of cider which we won, and it's now chilling in the fridge ready for a treat later.

    And for today:

    1) More foghorns when I woke up this morning.

    2) A colleague found what she thought was an insect in her tub of raspberries - it turned out to be a bit of leaf, but even the possibility of an insect made her head towards the bin to throw the berries away untouched. Luckily I managed to intercept them, and thoroughly enjoyed my unscheduled berry snack. :D

    3) Got my fantasy F1 team all set up for this season - I just hope I do better than I did last year, where my drivers had a nasty habit of running into walls! :o

    4) Super purry Isis when I got home - she purred so hard she fell over at one point, and I had to struggle not to laugh at her!

    5) Lazy chorizo and bean chilli for dinner tonight.

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    1. Isis the kitty :)

    2. My weekly report was better than I was expecting, and another minor improvement on last week's! I could have been blown down with a feather.

    3. Without us having to ask, we were given a unit planning masterclass (not by our teacher who was marginally less grumpy today, but the other one - really helpful :) ))

    4. NSD

    5. DD's cuddles

    6. I remembered to send a very important email that I've forgotten to do for a couple of days about DD's party!

    7. Chocolate, nomnomnom.

    8. Yummy dinner

    9. Small glass of wine

    10. Having more than 5 pleasures again.

    11. I've found another job to apply for......

2.DH and I continued moving the fence into place and tidying the garden up
3.The washings all up to date, with cleaning solution cycling through it at the moment.
4.And the house smells nice with yellow food slow cooking hm chicken curry with turmeric rice does that make it a risotto??

Well done kk - didn't we all tell you?
Well done Isis - ccp's needed to laugh again.
Well done pk and OH - thank goodness you have each other and furry friends. They make a powerful difference at those times.
bop schadenfreude - no new beamer for Raffles this Whitsun??

Hold on, just have to go and get rid of Any?s - can't stand it, get too worked up and angry. Thatcher years were the 1st worst, but now is not better. David Hare was succinct and correct in a short i/v on Front Row moments ago.

    1. A difficult reply sailed. Not regretted post-delivery.

    2. One of the saved w8r0s callas[must be ccp's] has a little spike. Ok, I probed the soil a little, but it's there:-)

    3. More rainbow chard - it's going mad again. My equivalent of your psb, lfs. Swappies? Still good sweated with good huile d'olive and remaindered lamb casserole.

    4. Jaunty News Quiz tonight. Holly's a QI addition to the line-up.

    5. Tumti-tumti-tumti-tum...well, I didn't see that coming. Did you, Ruth? An Everyday Story of Farming Folk..........

    6. Lovely long, long[till phone dies]time on phone to France last night - a birthday. Little Lara Melissa is already a month old today.

    7. Still haven't found what I've been house-wrecking for. It has to be here somewhere. But I'm so loving my Johnny Vegas Beatrix Potter darker tales.

Lots of other goings on. Being pulled in all directions. Time-consuming and here I am, in nightie d!jà. Yellow thing yes, but freezing wind.

Fly back safely and when you can, our two little birds, chicken and sparrer.

    Creeps back in....

Hello all, I have been AWOL, though just not posting - I have been reading and thanking. I keep hoping to see chickens return, but no.. :(

I may post a bit then edit as I just lost a big post, but tough you are getting it anyway :D

Soooo unbelievably tired, have worked and worked and worked. Alright, it's not coal mining as my dad unsympathetically told me but still.....
Lots of interesting developments at work, some :( some  some :T and some :rotfl: most are  ridiculous emails asking why my module which had 100% pass rate but an average mark of "only" 47% was a "failing module". And why xyz module was also underperforming. The fact that xyz module is not mine is apparently irrelevant. What tosh. And then, a new module got 98% pass with an a age mark of 69 "must be too easy" I spent sme time explaining in great detail that it wasn't too easy but it has nearly killed me getting students to that standard

I think that and various management changes and requirements and just generally the way they are treating staff, the time has come for me to look elsewhere. A job has come up somewhere I used to work, although it is an FE college rather than HE. But I think I would enjoy it there. No harm in looking anyhow,

    Part two

So, pleasures for last few days

Walking along the beach grabbing a moment for myself in the midst of some madness. Warm sunshine and a mill pond sea.
    Seeing my lovely sister
FN was on a school trip overseas but she got back an hour before I left
Walking home from train station on Sunday with four of my senses assaulted by spring. The feeling of warmth on my skin, the smell of the daffodils and some distant woodsmoke, the sight of said daffodils and blossom on the trees, and the sound of the birds.
External examiners standing up for the staff at our exam board. Saying we do a fantastic job but need to work less hard, cos we will all be dead
Going out for a meal with some American visitors, that work paid for
    The camaraderie amongst colleagues

    Part three

Two hours to myself this morning, except I was doing housework for one of them
    The cleaner came
A freezer full of food so I didn't have to worry about feeding us all
I spent Tuesday night driving DS around, but on a trip on my own after dropping him off I had U2 at full blast and was singing along
Another rejection for DD but she took it well
OH taking mother in law away for half an hour when I got home yesterday as he knew I wasn't in the mood for her inquisitions
Overhearing a conversation on the train between two women about their Wally trolleys, owned up to mine :-)

Probably enough, have a good weekend all

    I will be marking.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Kittikins - excellent news indeed! :j :j Richly deserved. Great news about the other, non-grumpy, teacher. I'm afraid that I think that my students think I'm a bit of a grump today!

    So, my pleasures:

    1) I praised a child in my class for really writing well. "You know why I can write so well, Mrs VickyA?" he said. "No," was my reply (dreading to think about what zombie/beat 'em up movie he'd been watching). "Because I have a really great teacher." Cue Mrs VickyA (me!) sobbing! :o

    2) HM chicken tikka masala from the freezer!

    3) DH was internet shopping but remembered to go via TopCashBack. :j :j The training is paying off. :D

    4) Latest few payments on credit card has been paid! :j

    5) We're watching Gogglebox. How come watching tv, with people watching tv is so interesting?

    Pleasures for today!

    1) Up early enough not to have to rush and also to make porridge.

    2) Gave brother a lift to his physio session.

    3) Sole fell off my boot yesterday (just cheapy ones). Popped to Clarks today on the off chance and they were 50% off! So proper leather ones now. :-)

    4) Got a crochet hook and some wool so I can keep practising after my crochet course on Sunday.

    5) Picked brother up after appointment and we popped to the allotment and he dug out some bracken for me. :-/ Also collected up all the logs (it is seriously full of rubbish!) and took them to dad's and he can chainsaw them for his stove.

    6) Mum was on good form. They are a bit grumpy at the moment as the phone has been off for over a fortnight (phone line knocked down by a falling tree and BT completely useless about coming to fix it AND they have no television reception!) Anyway, mum had done a recording of she and her friend Shirley playing a piano duet that neither of them liked - very discordant - and we were in stitches after listening to it. After they had finished, the tape had picked up Shirley letting out a big sigh!!

    7) Went to my sister's for lunch.

    8) Remembered to go to the school office and pay smaller son's trip money, his sponsored read money and hand in the Sainsburys vouchers.

    9) Re-potted all the little cauliflower plants. 20+ of those.

    10) Bigger son's school report was OK.

    11) Bingo in the village hall with sons and brother. Brother never wins anything ever but tonight won a roast chicken dinner! Chicken, potatoes, carrots and parsnips. Smaller son won lots of veggies and some stewing steak!

Last but not least - 12) Smaller son is finally properly getting better. :-)
