mhags no wurries, I get things mixed up all the time - I can be a little crazy so a cold shower would be appropriate at times!

    1. Lovely to see people in tee shirts, skirts, even some in shorts today. All the cycle clubs and horse riders out in full force, have to remember to add another 10 minutes to my 6 mile journey through the lanes
    2. Met with friends, had lunch out. Delicious roast beef and eye-watering horseradish cream.
    3. DD's dog has done a sterling job of getting rid of the moss in the lawn - and a lot of the lawn but he lives on hard landscaping so needs teaching which is which ;). I've swapped my boy with hers for a week as one of her girls is in season and another due to whelp any day, so he's been just a bit noisy!
    4. Had a chat over the garden fence with my lovely neighbour, first time this year. We do like to put the world to rights from our back gardens
    5. Been invited to a burlesque dance lesson next month - it's not on my bucket list but what the heck, I'll probably never get another chance and I do like crazy :D

    Sweet dreams :)

Public holiday? What public holiday? Aaah the one that everyone else had off apart from my 2 colleagues and I! We were seriously crazy busy! Anyway....another day and another dollar or so earned!

Was a hot day at 35o , quiet drive to work and my lovely husband came to see me and drove me home ( he got train).

Payday :) we are living off my wages as all of OHs went in one day and straight back out , thanks to uni fees. Cupboards and freezer full and grateful that I can bring left overs home to feed my brood! Just 2 filled rolls today but still plenty of pesto pasta left......a text from DD1 went along the lines of ' could she have some pesto' ....' Mum, you're the besto'
    To which I replied 'yesto!'

OH had been busy gardening today, I think I've said before , we live in a huge corner plot with all different areas of garden , so much to do and not enough garden bin space to do it all! We would just love some rain to really give the garden a good soaking but not on the radar this week.

I watched last weeks casualty on YouTube....hoping someone puts the most recent one up soon.

My lovely husband putting lemonade in the fridge so I had a cold drink when I came in....'tis the little things :)

Not needing to cook dinner as everyone has been fed with leftovers but I think I will think about tomorrow's dinner as I'm on a late shift .

Have a fabulous Monday ....may Spring send you more sunshine today:)

    Morning

Everytime I have gone to post over the last week something has happened to stop me either something needed doing at work or DD stealing the laptop at home as hers is being fixed.

Anyway there have been lots of pleasures over the last couple of days in no particular order

    1. Lots of lovely sunshine so my washing basket is back under control again as have been hanging clothes out to dry everyday.
    2. Found a taker for my spare ticket for the Globe, a young french student that we have on placement at the moment came with me. We had a lovely walk along the South bank in the sunshine with me pointing out various bits of interest. The Globe is a beautiful place to go can highly recommend and the show which was a modern adaption of the Merchant of Venice was excellent.
    3. Treating young student A to a late lunch after show. Not MSE but I would hope that if my DD was away from home for a couple of months someone would do the same for her.
    4. Food shopping done for another week and coming in a little under budget which is always good.
    5. Last but by no means least we are now Mortgage Free :j:j:j:j. i went into the building society to pay it off on Friday morning. I think the girl who was dealing with it was more excited than I was. She said the past few months had been a bit grim in there with people struggling with finances so was nice to be able to do something so nice. Enjoyed a bottle of champagne we had at home on Friday night to celebrate. Tis a very nice feeling, still have big smile on my face.

Hugs to all who need them and hope all the poorlies are feeling better now.

Congratulations on being Mortgage Free, Tealady! What a lovely story about the young assistant being excited, goes to show that some do care. I can remember telling a job adviser over the phone that I didn't have to claim jobseeker's allowance in school holidays any more as I had landed an additional tutoring post, she was over the moon, said I had made her day.

Frith, when Dr C's voice first went down deep, I often had a momentary panic hearing a strange male in the house... Explaining why I had shouted "Who's that?" was extremely embarrassing..
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Frith - all the very best with smaller son as well as your own health/dietary challenge. Frogs & steam trains sound wonderful <especially from having to be a grownup in an office> Carved tent pegs? There's an always handy skill!
lovefullshelves - there's something about a bonfire & that it keeps your dad closer in memory better still. Glad you got the line drying done first!
mcculloch - a deep voice is a lovesome thing. Well done on sorting the trike chain so handily!
sparrer - hasn't this Tshirt weather been wonderful! Burlesque dance lesson? - grab it! - if only for the clothing & the giggles...
mhagster - it is rough working public holidays but oh so well done you both putting son through Uni! Gardening, & lemonade from the fridge, oh my.
BoP - all this yellow stuff! Yes, change the duvet cover - share the pleasure of clean bedlinens!
Tealady - massive congratulations on being Mortgage free (and cheering bank staff!) as well as wonderfully treating the French student! <blazing admiration!>

Not so much a pleasure, more a Public service alert: Soap should *not* be the same colour as your sanitary fittings. (Ceramic or enamel, it's uncomfortable to land on.)

    OS Pleasures today
Chortling at Cussons technique for overcoming small boy resistance to soap with smells including 'cola bottle' & 'chocolate orange'!

Yellow stuff in my eyes as I drive in!

Reading up on Anglo Saxon leather & metal punched decoration - patterns we saw on the Silverdale Hoard (Viking, Museum of Lancashire) & plan to copy on things we make!

Green leaves visible on cherry buds - blossom soon! Bloke who runs carpark by it as pleased, even though more to clean off cars!

Seeing another poster whisked into place & resisting the urge to ask if it is Art Decau...

Son cooking dumplings - didn't check the lid on the pepper - dumplings au poivre tonight!

Big hugs to all who need them, healing & restful sleep all round & phew - no longer Monday!

DFV - I love pepper, so your dumplings au poivre sound good to me!

Tealady - many congratulations on becoming mortgage free. :T:T

    1) Felt better enough to go to work today. (Is that a pleasure? Given how exhausted I now feel - and, according to my colleagues, look - possibly not!)

    2) Since the last vet visit, Isis has got into the habit of running away every time I stand up, in case I grab her and put her in a box again. This morning she did the same as usual, but 'ran away' at the slowest saunter you can imagine, which I hope means she is on her way to forgiving me for my cruelty in getting her prompt veterinary attention when needed. :undecided

    3) Went up to town at lunchtime to get a new cook's knife - just a cheap one to tide me over - and it worked out even cheaper than expected as it went through the till at half price. :money:

    4) Easy dinner tonight as there's chilli left from last night (it's actually more like feijoada, but very nice all the same!), followed by RTC cherry and almond pudding with ice cream. One of the good things about having so little appetite is that, when I am hungry, I feel like I can justify eating what I like! :o

    5) Last weekend's episode of Jonathan Creek to watch later, as I forgot it was on at the time. :D
Back after a very long break!

Oh, Tealady, what AMAZING news! :j :j

Those who were wondering.... *stands up*

My name is VickyA and I am a Lakelandaholic - and proud of it! :D

Hopefully that statement satisfies DigForVictory :rotfl:

    So, my pleasures for today:

    1) NSD :j :j

    2) Walked with my class to and from the swimming pool. I'm shocked at how few of them are able to swim, but we're lucky that we're able to have two excellent swimming teachers to support them.

    3) Bought my rail tickets for when I visit London with a friend at the end of March. Martin would be proud: tickets bought via TopCashBack, using my BA Avios credit card and vouchers bought in a deal. :money: My friend I'm going with is incredulous at how I can find all these deals. My reply? I'm just conditioned after years of research! :rotfl:

    4) Credit card paid.

    5) Sausages for supper. Mmmm, yum. :D

Right, school work to get on with.

Tealady, that is news to celebrate congratulations on being mortgage free and secure.:j:T:beer::T:j so happy for you.

I’m sure I posted yesterday but there’s nothing there. Ah well
    1. Mondays work is out of the way, no money spent as a weekly rail ticket and took lunch in with me, and had lunch sitting in a park.
    2. A simple chicken and rice plain tea.
    3. Enjoying catching up on free books on the kindle having finished something along the lines of a 3000 pager which was amazing but I read a book on there and it “suddenly” finished. :rotfl:
    4. When I got through the door the animals were happy to see me.:o
