Evening all
mhagster, that poor man - horrible shock for everyone, hope you get to hear he's recovering.
Kk, love Lego Icarus - I'll pass that link on. :T
DfV, yes, I know what you mean about going carefully on the genealogy discoveries. Fortunately everything I've recently discovered has just confirmed family hearsay so nothing has been a shock.
Five pleasures for Wednesday:
1. No news about the house but am behaving as if we'll get it (we'll have to get something!) and so I'm getting on with decluttering apace. I couldn't bear to listen to the news and stuff so I've had the radio tuned to Classic FM all day which has been very peaceful.
2. Dealt with tons of books today and the charity shop pile is growing big.
3. Tackled the plastic box of toiletries/meds stored under my bed as well. Now have one box of useful toiletries and another smaller box of first aid/coughs and colds type stuff in date that has been put on an empty shelf (note - we had an empty shelf!) in a kitchen cupboard. I'd been meaning to do that for ages.
4. Because I was in all day it was a NSD and NPD.
5. Baked spuds, tuna and sweetcorn mayo and salad for supper.
Waiting for DS1 to get back home from training so I'm going to curl up with Outnumbered on iplayer.:)
Sweet dreams

A lovely sunny evening with a lovely cool breeze over here. First day off in a week was most welcome.
Phone call to friend this morning and then a good chat with my sister on the phone this evening.
Had a snoozette.
Had a poorly DD2 off with an upset tummy so if it had to happen glad it was on my day off and I was here.
Washed and ironed and washed and ironed some more.
Cleaned bathrooms and hoovered all downstairs.
Sat out on front porch and read some of my library book which I'm enjoying.
Ate some chocolate.
Made a curry for dinner, with rtc chicken, a tin of tomatoes, some tandoori paste and a tin of coconut milk . It was rather splendid! Judging by the requests for second helpings,
And that's been my day...most pleasant!0 -
Pleasures for yesterday.
1) Went swimming with my brother.
2) Took 3 sacks of horse manure from the lady I used to babysit for, to the allotment.
3) Sons had good days at school and bigger son got his homework done.
4) Went to Sainsburys to get gluten free, dairy free, taste free food. :-( The new diet is ridiculous and making me grumpy. I can't see how I can stick to it!
5) Had an evening out! We went with brother to watch Gravity at our little local cinema. Can recommend it.0 -
I've had rather a lazy day today, as I woke up this morning feeling horribly cold-y and decided I was in no fit state to go to work.
1) Didn't leave the house, so NSD and NPD. :money:
2) Felt marginally better by mid-afternoon, so spent a couple of hours clearing the comps board again.
3) Received an email to let me know I had won another competition - more books! Hopefully these will be better than the last one I won, which I abandoned half-way through as I was bored stiff and haven't yet found the enthusiasm to go back to.
4) Didn't watch Top Gear over the weekend as I was out with my DM, so had it to watch this afternoon instead.
5) Probably another instalment of Harry Potter tonight, before having an early night.Back after a very long break!0 -
1. Homemade cake for lunch. yum
2. Took some gone off cheese back to Waitrose and got a double refund! Never had one there before.
3. Free coffee at Waitrose (and YS piece of cake afterwards in car - yum)
4. Homemade beer yum, bread and German sausages for tea. Yum
5. Have found out that I can use my local library to access emagazines on Zinio. Great news as I've given up buying them as have decided they're not worth the money. Limited selection but looking forward to reading one later.

1. I think my observed lesson went better than last week's - full feedback will be given tomorrow, but the quick chat sounds promising.
2. DD perky and back to her normal gorgeous self
3. Treated the staffroom to some yummy biccies and was thanked profusely....it's the least I can do given I probably eat pretty much my body weight most weeks in biccies, and haven't been asked to contribute to the kitty, lol.
4. Spent the day dressed as the cat in the hat (wbd), v. fun!
5. Phonics Kitty was a hit this morningBut I have to plan a 'killer' lesson for Wednesday morning when I'm being observed!
6. Got home to excited folks, handing me a phone and asking me to call someone straight away - woohoo! I've got my first interview for a proper teaching job on Tuesday!! I'm so surprised and excited by it as I haven't had a chance to visit the school, applied the night before the deadline, have a slightly less pants but probably still pants personal statement, etc.0 -
I’ve been a missing a couple of days but just ran out of time nothing too bad, so a mix
1. DH has done 3 tip runs this week with de cluttering:cool:
2. And started digging a trench, trailering concrete, shifting it to the back garden and mixing it to start getting the posts in.
3. Pilates class was hard but good.:o
4. Just happened to get rtcs right, it was a weird coincidence, there is a chap who goes on Thursdays who was there and always clears the shelves no matter what and barges etc. but they did a second round as we were leaving and we happened to be there so didn’t feel guilty, whole chicken 90p, ham for pennies, some single cream 16p, finest pizzas for 40p, finest burgers and sausages 60p again. The freezer is sighing. Ohhh and flowers at 50p much to oh’s disgust, he prefers live plants to cut flowers that’s his excuse.:money:
5. Having time to be on the laptop tonight, and about to catch up on others pleasures:)0
