Hugs PK, hope the flat feeling passes soon x

Phonics Kitty did not make her presence known today - I have a SEN boy who was missing from the group the day she joined us, and on speaking to his TA, it sounds like she'll be welcomed, but a phonics puppy would most certainly not be! Phew! Maybe tomorrow....but maybe I'll be evil Ms Kittikins and make them stew a bit longer....

    1. NSD

    2. I'm teaching mainly maths this week - lesson one went okay, but my timing is still pants :(

    3. I taught music this afternoon - yay, all bar 1 child fully participated in the lesson :)

    4. DD's not feeling well :( but :) as my parents have been looking after her whilst I was at school. I think a day off tomorrow may be called for.......her not me!

    5. Had a nice chat with the Headteacher about how to do a fabulous personal statement to apply for a job. Of course, my draft is slightly pants, over-passionate etc....but I have some good pointers to follow now. Thank goodness for her lovely helpful tips.

The dictionary has been removed from the shelf, but only if a challenge is coming. BoPsie whine is pored. The S is being held tightly. She could get within 1 game of three on the bounce!

No need for the dictionary tonight, BoPsie keeps a tight grip of the S. Scores 11. Not enough to beat BoP, as RE is played. BoP wins and the record is safe again.

BoPsie is upset as ISM was valid.

BoPsie settles down with a decent whine!

Now the cards are played. Cribbage till late. Going to be another Duvet day coming up!

    M'Lauds, BoPettes and Gentlemen

My it be my pleasure to inform you, that BoP has won the game of card called Cribbage.

Only snake and ladders is left!
  • A lovely sunny day here, which makes everything look a little better.

    1. So little traffic, saved time on the journey to work. This only happens on a random basis but is very welcome when it does.
    2. Left over curry (mostly juice, but I like the juice) and rice for lunch.
    3. Am wearing a top which was about to go in the charity bag and find it's actually quite good for work, so it will live another day. There's also no excuse to buy yet another purple top in its place.
    4. Tea was a reheated unlabelled casserole I found in the freezer yesterday, with jacket spuds and veg.
    5. Text conversation with DS as I type. We're talking about Disney films! He's 20!

    Have a peaceful evening everyone.

I wish I could take you up on your offer, Tealady, but it's a bit too far away. We enjoyed looking round the museum/visitor centre next to the Globe a year or two ago.

    Pleasures for today!

    1) Not a bad sleep apart from a nightmare. :-S

    2) Sons had good days at school.

    3) Went to Sainsburys.

    4) Applied for smaller son's transport to school from September.

    5) Went round the charity shops before collecting smaller son and found exactly what we were looking for! Bigger son loves "survival" and camping and there were 2 brand new little camping stools! Then we needed a foot pump for the wheelbarrow tyre (plus footballs and car tyres) and there was one of those from Halfords for £2!

    6) Made 2 recipes from Jack Monroe's book for my tea. First was Roman pasta with tangerines and basil sauce then a white chocolate and peach tray bake.

    7) Smaller son did tonight's sponsored reading without fuss.

    8) Stove going nicely and about to watch One Born Every Minute.

    Just in.

    1. Glorious new crescent moon. Please pop out and look before you all go nye-nyes. Put on sth warm; there's frost sparkling on my trailer tarp.

    2. It is possible to transport 15kg of loose lemon curd in a bin-liner, in a carton:-) Dropped it off at one of our houses, while en route to

    3. Penultimate visit. Took pic of crows nesting high; in normal seasons=sign of good summer. Had to wait 10 mins in hail, sudden stormwind and rain, no shelter. Change and future discussed. Now we look forward. This is good. Really, really good.

    4. Left in different direction, heading to Kettle's Yard for 2nd talk in series. Only just made it in time, so no further look at Exhibition yet. BUT, tonight Jovan Nicholson, noted scholar, grandson of Winifred and Ben, spoke, simply, wonderfully, with child's eye knowledge and love. He is exceptionally gifted himself. I could have listened for hours more and we chatted afterwards....treat, treat, treat.

    5. Leaving 4. was attracted over road to St Giles by rippling, soaring virtuoso trumpet and wind chorus. They were rehearsing something composed by one of their number, tuneful, modern, didn't mind my stepping in. It was a fantastic sound.

    6. Some more heads-ups and danged if I won't try to keep the first for ever somehow.

    7. Well, it just so happened that way back to city ce soir passed by No More Plants at Scotsdales. Didn't take long. Only 3-RTC. And sign across road says Shelford are playing bop@15h samedi!

    8. The first and loveliest for today - a perfect gleaming celandine shining super yellowlyamongst the strawbs, out kitchen window.

BB - I like your writing.
pq -there's always reason for more purple tops - our Jenny Josephs mantra. I've just eaten similar supper from slow cooker over weekend. Perfect tonight.
tealady - hope you've had a taker for that ticket. vjm - your daughter?.
broomstick - have had fingers x'd for positive viewing news on house today.
bop - now look. R&I played cribbage every night, as the sun went over the yard arm. &'s already set up your walloping at scrabble and now you wish same with cards? & still has mahogany board swivel top[hidden recess for Harrods initialled pack]] and turned brass pegs she made for R. & is entrusting yellow thing remote to Raffles while bop learns how to play properly under & tutelage. 'ism'...un mot permis? sans tiret?....pishtush.
frith - really intrigued by 'Roman pasta with tangerines and basil sauce' and especially like sound of 'white chocolate and peach tray bake.' Perfect CS finds day. Such a good feeling.
dfv - I Do Not Like new version either[not Luddite, sound reasons], but we're not supposed to 'discuss', are we?
    ###
Oh well, here's 9 - did pancake batter for demain, can stand covered o/n. 'Twas ever instructed thus. First 2 eggs in bowl somehow flipped into dishwater...something to do with elbow and moi and selective memory loss coupled with domestic blindness.

Hello from hotsville again. 34o at 7pm and I'm boiling.....however to be fair, I've been at work all day in airconned environment , I'd a 2 minute walk to train station , a 4 minute wait for train, a seat on the train ( no sprawling thighs tonight) in an airconned carriage for 12 minutes and then a 4 minute walk with an accompanying breeze home. So it is home that is warm! Having been shut up all day in the heat. Just had a rejuvenating shower with the final blast as cold as I can bear...or even bare!

So , today's good news include the fact that our UK tenants are renewing lease for a further 6 months.
I had a nice chat with my friend from home this morning.
I wasn't starting work until 9.30am rather than 7.00am. So I actually woke up at 7.00 am which was nice rather than at 5.15 am which I've been waking of late.
I hung out 2 loads of washing and watered the veggies whilst chatting on the phone! I'm clever like that!
I had a good day at work, one more to go and then some time off, yahoo!
Saw an at loose bunny rabbit on my home, took it's photo ( as you do,) and then it hopped back under the fence of ( hopefully!) home. The grass just have been greener on the other side after all :)
Have dispatched my son for fish and chips for tea!
Brought home sandwiches and rolls from work which will do for lunches tomorrow .

    That's been my day :)
Pk Killin and the surrounds are very beautiful ( as is most of Scotland of course) sounds like a good choice! I look forward to hearing about your trip.
frith hope you feel better soon. Shingles are not nice.

Have a lovely day everyone :)
