Exciting prospect kk - they'll snare you on the instant. Mutual coup de foudre:-)
broomstick - fingers still crossed for That Roof and you feeling better.
    Well done pedometer repair man.
skogar - you are so much one of us AND 2 lots of cake. To think I was too late for my w8r0s freebie hier...such a letdown, then was too late for Ash Wednesday too.
ccp - I think it's an Isis plot to keep you home for cuddles.
frith- that sounds like food-free food. Not exactly appealing.

    1. Made up for missed last night at Prayer brekkie today. VG, lots of little 'moments'. Marmalade is selling well. Ginger one repeat bought already.

    2. & is being Lent-y. Will I manage to continue no dairy, no coffee, no choc?
    One day at a time...:-)

    3. Have spent all day on something, fingers crossed.

    4. Thumb thing is not right, but won't do better now, so looks as if it may have to be re-chopped. Still means no Spitalfields and it's getting v. tight for NZ living time, with car tax/insce due this month too. Ah well, such is Life.

    5. If I hadn't walked to p/b this morning, I wouldn't have seen a clump of violets blooming between old concrete slabs in a back lane farm short-cut .

Eager for hwb, little summyweat, book, byes.

Nightynight all - oh, moon wasn't visible here last night. Did it continue brilliant anywhere else?

Kittikins - great news about your observation! :j

Missed yesterday as I was *whispers* out at the pub ona school night  :D

So, for the past couple of days:

    1) Yellow sticker pasta sauce with pasta for supper this evening. :D

    2) New Boots extra points vouchers have arrived.

    3) Went to a course 40 miles away today. Meant that I came home and did some school work. Not enough, but some is better than nothing. No?!

    4) Loads of recycling done. :D A few books sorted for the charity shop too.

    5) Bought a deal for https://www.redspottedhanky.com on Amazon Local for £16 worth of credit for £8. As I'm seeing a friend in London at the end of March, I'll be definitely using it!

It's been a funny sort of day... Smaller son off school because the thought of having to not wear uniform (world book day) gave him at attack of the vapours. Including refusing to get out of the car right outside school.

    Here are the pleasures:

    1) Collected our EBay pond liner so we can finish our replacement allotment pond at the weekend.

    2) Did the charity shops and got my dress for my sister's wedding! It was £8. :-)

    3) Popped to the station (smaller son was with me) and watched a few trains coming and going. Then we were looking at the engine of one of the trains and the driver opened the door and invited us in to have a look around!

    4) Bigger son had a good day at school.

    5) Went to mum and dad's for tea. Nice meat pie etc for everyone. Baked potato for me. :-/

    6) Enjoyed watching DIY SOS.

    7) On the way home from mum and dad's, stopped to pick up a few toads (there are always loads on the lane this time of year and we pick them up and pop them over the wall so they can get to the lake). Bigger son spotted what he thought was another toad but it was a newt!

    8) A very strange pleasure.... drove back up to our village and, as turning East to park (that took some thinking about, to work out the direction!) we could see weird lights in the sky ahead of us. So we got out of the car, walked down the steep hill out of the village a little way and the sky was coloured with a band of bright green. It changed colour very slightly to lighter green and we are sure was the northern lights! (Later got a compass on my phone and we were definitely looking north). We watched for several minutes.

It all got a bit farcical then as we phoned my brother and he went out with the dog to have a look. Then we bumped into MrN and he walked down with us to see, with 3 of his sons - and it had completely gone. :-S

Hurrah for Friday and day off number 2:
Woke up at ridiculously early o'clock ( around 4am) so got up and give mum a quick call and then went back to sleep.

Had a GP appointment first thing...went with a list! We have to pay to see GP and need to see a GP to get repeat prescriptions...so I made sure I got my money's worth :)

Then went into next town , got my eyebrows threaded. I did not like it one bit! So back to the 1,2,3 ouch waxing for me I think. ( plucking gives me the heeby Jeebies) but I look less hairy beast than I did before .

Then into department store and bought 2 very pretty dresses for the girls ...for Christmas! Very rtc in the sales.

Then into another store and got them PJs for Christmas....also very rtc

Then petrol station. Petrol is very expensive just now with reports in the paper it's to increase in price. So topped up by $20 ....and stopped exactly at the 00. This is the first time in about 5-6 weeks I've put petrol in, mainly as I have been on the train.

Then grocery shopped, just got what I needed ...well of course I needed the rtc profiteroles and cream filled lamington! Melons were advertised at $1.98 , I was charged $4 , their mistake so got my refund. It really does pay to watch the till screens me check receipts. I also had a $5 loyalty voucher to use.

Oh and I bought some beautiful teal, velvet cushions.....they have given me pleasure but were not reduced or even particularly cheap....oops but they're very, very pretty!

Then home and pottered, stripped bed and hung out on line, even though rains's been threatening all day it dried....just need to remember to put it back on before bedtime.

DD1 came home from school early and we sat and ate cake , drank lemonade and watched Waterloo Road on YouTube

Walked up to post office for a stamp ( funnily enough) then popped into fruit shop for strawberries ....$1.99 each or 2 for $2.50. Go on , I will have 2!

I have given up diet cola drink ( yes....again , as my son asked!) for lent. I don't drink tea or coffee and drink too much of the fizzy stuff. I know it's not good for me but..... I can stop for a while and then usually start again.

    Have a. Fabulous Friday .

4 Lost the key for the alarm clock. No bells, no bells, no bells. And, if you check my holidays, yous gets loads of YELLOW, YELLOW, YELLOW, YELLOW. Tested now for Easter, for if yous offs next week. guess what ...

3 I has control of it, granted last year by & And it is on limited supple at the moment, and I bagged it all this week. In fact so much so.

2 day I even forgets what day it is. Oooh to re laxo BoP'd

1 Do nose bovver will a load of twaddle, codswallop or why yous lick.

    PM to ISIS from Raffles
You are a cat that is too young to understand that your keeper bought yous into their life for cuddles. Now we know you not like it at present, but you must tell your keeper that she has not to chase you round the house and let you breathe for a day or too. That way you can get out. Also, you need to get used to the comforts of your keeper, so you should find an old top to sleep in. It will not hurt. That way you can get used to that humanoid. So Raffles suggest that Isis is given a free range to come out.

Oh, feet go back up, but Raffles has wrecked my deck shoes!

    Latest update.

Unfortunately, we have had a bounce out. As usual, used pots are thrown from stove to sink. AS spoon, covered in hot sauce, has bounced out of the sink and marked BoPsie' floor.

No worry, Raffles is onto it!

And in even later news, KK is removed, & takes over!

    1) Phoned in sick to work this morning, and my manager had a brief listen to my ill-sounding voice and told me to go back to bed - so I did. :D

    2) Late breakfast of toast and honey, with Isis curled in a patch of sunlight at my feet, purring gently to herself.

    3) A lovely warm day, so I opened the patio door for a while. Isis was very brave and came out of hiding for long enough to look out of the door, although she made it very clear she had no intention of going through it! (Note to Raffles - Isis would be more than welcome to go free range - she just doesn't want to!)

    4) Making an 'odds and s0ds' loaf with the ends of various bags of flour in the cupboard.

    5) More HP tonight, I think.
Back after a very long break!

DFV and Ampersand: I can’t get the book from the clues of Celia and 2 boys, could I be cheeky and ask what it is for a fellow book worm.
DH and I were planning to head over the bridge for a couple of things but one glance at the traffic reports and we decided against that idea and we just couldn’t quite get the ompth to do shopping battle, so we are up bright and blearily early tomorrow to try and miss before people get out.

1.Working from home busy but nice to feel up to date for 5 mins
2.Managed to fit in 2 phone calls and a few loads of washing
3.Ordered some replacement medical shoes for dh and some bits and pieces online all with offer codes and free p&p
    4.Cleaned, hovered, tidied upstairs.
    5. Friend of ours has invited us to a steam ralley we have never heard of but sounds like a little gem.
    6. We joined a camping club after not finding something specific “up norf” and was able to get the friend in no5. a voucher for saying they recommended us.
