Thanks for Youngest Frith best wishes!
Pleasures for yesterday:
1) Nice train journey into Birmingham.
2) Went to the Museum and Art Gallery and we liked the Grayson Perry tapestries exhibition. Also in the basement bit, they had someone who had brought in chameleons, toads, snakes etc so we got to handle those and look at stick insects and other minibeasts.
3) Was outvoted at lunchtime so McDs.
4) Another easy train journey to Five Ways.
5) Over an hour in the Sensory Room at Autism West Midlands.
6) Back to New Street which, I have been told, was the highlight of the trip, running from platform to platform to see as many trains as possible culminating with TWO Pendolinos in the station at the same time. :-D
7) Got lost as around New St is so different so had tea at Subways and the shop assistant got google maps on her phone for me so she could give me directions.
8) About 500 people chucked out of Snow Hill with no directions whatsoever as to what we should do to get home. But everyone on their phones, trying to find out what the problem was, and waiting patiently to get on the mysterious "number 9" bus that someone found out about. Got on the third bus.
9) The driver stopping to let us off half way home... and no one commenting that we had made their 4 hour journey home even longer!
10) A tiny train ride from one station to another and a kind lady letting us off first as smaller son was sinking fast.
11) Another long coach journey with everyone in some kind of Dunkirk spirit by this point.
12) A nice lady at the 24 hour place in hospital who managed to diagnose smaller son despite the fact he would not leave the waiting room...
Only been awake about half an hour today!0 -
Feel the breeze. If you are of soft eyed, and raffles deserves cuddles sensibility, please avert your eyes now. The following has occurred
Emergency call from BoPsie this very morning. Raffles has decimated the local vermin. One has apparently accidently encroached on his patch, and is currently cornered, awaiting sentancing … As BoP, so caring is at the Salt Mine, it looks exceedingly good fortune for Raffles. I doubt Raffles will be injured during the making of this post. BoPsie is in tatters.
Music to our lungs. Soup for the warm. Parcel at the door, Quiizes at the Pub.TV Brick goes missing,Milk, Bread (Beard???) and eggs. A time to move. More broth and cheese. Bumping into chums. BALL C0CKS. Kings Cross. Beetroot, and apple tart. Steak and chips. Leftover curry.
5 Stranger things have happened since the last time I posted, but BoPsie is getting confused to her specs.
4 last nite for tea, we had a good Mushroom Snoganoff And, of curse, it was delish. Then we had a quick game of Scrabble, and I was streets in front, as usual, as you all nose I do not lose that many, and never three on the pounce. BoPsie suddddddenly comes in at the end, with Demands. 7 letters, over 70 scored. BoP has horse and cart left in his hand, and she, not she normally does no count back the tiles. She counted back 13 from BoP and put them on her score. Fortunately, BoP was that far ahead, I still won by 18 points. So the BoP record remains intact.
3 Good job BoP not plied with loads of lemonade, otherwise he would not had walked off with the one last remaining cake this very morning. BoPsie has already texted her disappointment at losing this prized object. I can confirm it was very nice indeed.
2 nite I have custody of the paraffin heater in the Dog House
1 It is that Friday feeling.
And for the poorlies.

Oh, and the cake, so chocolately nice!

1) A mixture of yellow thing and rain all day, culminating in a lovely rainbow over the sea.
2) Called the company whose parcel was delivered yesterday as, when I opened it, two of the items were badly damaged - they're going to send me replacements and I can keep or dispose of the damaged ones as I see fit. :T
3) Switched the dehumidifier on for an hour and it produced a decent amount of water - I've now had to turn it off again as Isis was clearly terrified by the noise and has vanished into hiding.I'm fairly confident she'll get used to it - the washing machine doesn't bother her and that's far noisier.
4) Dug out the rest of the ice skating which I missed when I went out last night, and will watch it tonight instead.
5) Pizza fakeaway for dinner - pizza and nibbly stuff from the supermarket, all on SO. :money:
Frith - hope Master Frith feels better soon.
BoP - you are a meanie, scaring us like that!Back after a very long break!0 -
Oh, gals CCP &; BoPsie rang this morn as I car shared from the Old Passage, and you can read that part above. Just highlight the text!
I am pleased to say, sentencing was not carried out, BoPsie was able to do a rescue and put said carry out, through the front door. Raffles retrieved his carry out, and returned. BoPsie rescued again, locked raffles in the naughty room and let the carry out go free. Raffles is mega! BoPsie well retrieved the situation.0 -
I am pleased you liked Kieran's song Solo, Mhags. It was written for his then toddler daughter (Now 18, living at the top of his house and the subject of a song called 'Bat In The Attic'...!). His daughter told me at a concert years ago that 'Solo was her favourite song too.
DD & DGC visited!
1. DD blitzed kitchen for me, bless her. Ditto lounge. She is so good and quick at cleaning and tidying; I can FIND things later.
2. All liked the 'leftover' gifts I had for them. I also decluttered a Cushelle koala so that the dogs can have one each at home and remembered to send the dogs' treats home with the humans.
3. Seeing hearty appetites in action and the treats I had bought for them really enjoyed.
4. Some very nice goodies on the way from Amazon Vine, not particularly OS. but will enjoy using them very much.
5. An email asking for my bank details so I can be paid for work I did a few months back.
As always, your pleasures..Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Broomstick: Hugs, what a day, hope you are feeling ok? And great advise from LFS on the house hunt adventure.
McHags: Lovely to hear you confident about the new work, and enjoying it.
VJsmum a very positive post, despite technology.
LFS: I’m enjoying your blog.
1.A sneaky one from last night, as whoo hoo filled up a freezer shelf with some meat reductions not silly reduced but half price not to be sneezed at. A whole chicken with lots of spices, casserole steaks, and bits and pieces. Oohh and I admit I hung around the rotisserie with intent when I saw the lady there take things to reduce, 2 whole chickens and a whole load of odds and sods also 70 off enough for the weekend and freezing and turning to stock.:p
2.Guilty pleasure watched Ice Age 2 on TV and chortled.:rotfl:
3.Feeling a lot unwell as the stresses of the week catch up, but feeling better after sleep and waking up to sunshine.
4. I put bread crumbs out by the back door as the robins love them, and watch all the birds on feeder, with the crocuses coming up dotted all over the garden in memory of animals that are still here in spirit, and snow drops.:)
5. I am working at home so can job hunt as well, and put the commute money in the savings tin.
6. I got a few loads of washing done
7. I took a half hour to deep condition my hair, face pack etc, I feel better but don’t look any different.:rotfl:
8. Did a very small amount of tidying up, clearing up.
9. Got some scones out of the freezer to go with the RTC cream we picked up….yummmmm.:D:D
10. Put some spare or repair bits and pieces on Freegle, or they go to the tip.
I’ve just sorted all the rtc rotisserie chicken into 8 portions, 2 large, 5 regular, and a casserole meat. Anything left was put in the pressure cooker, from that I got 4 stock pots and 2 tubs of animal food, I let the stock tubs cool, scrapped off the fat and added it to the animal tubs. I don’t know if it’s “worth it” with 45mins of gas for the pressure cooker, but I like that we don’t waste anything.:)0
