Hope all dry and safely gathered in. Dundeedawg seems well on road to recovery, though did stop him eating a postie rubber band on walk and candle wax back home! But there is a nasty doggie gastrowosit going round and friend at cathedral's mum's dawg has been similarly afflicted
    1) lovely weather. Did some gardening before walking to church and finished mavis cheek book walking back from church
    2) lovely service. Declined lunch as wanted to get home to check on dundeedawg(xoh being away for postponed valentines, postponed due to ickky dawg which new bf not impressed by lol)
    3) bought v nice slippers on way home and walked home. Pennies saved and exercise to boot
    4) lovely lunch - hm thai chicken noodle soup. Made it yesterday and finished it off today slurp. Recipe was for 4 but with all that gardening and walking...
    5) have knitted another two squares for dd2's dr who blanket. So that makes ahem 4 but i have been away :-) her bday is june and the squares are 9.5 inches. Today's squares are cybermen

Evening, I am watching BAFTA. Love an award, me

Not sure when I was last here - Thursday? Hope everyone has had a fab weekend. LFS has, anyway:p

    Good luck sister of CCP.
Frith, did you "brm, brm" as you went?

    Pleasures for yesterday

1 had a reasonable lie in
2 did some work then had a bath. dD had gone to drama and DS went to a local team away match in North London. He had to go on the supporters coach due to weather issues but it all worked brilliantly
3 went for a walk with OH on Cannock Chase, in the pouring rain
4 then went for tea and scone in a garden centre - practice for being retired:D. There was an outlet there with a sale and I bought two very long line cardies for £15 each. Come down to my calves
5 went for dinner with too infrequently seen friends. Had a lovely time and drank too much :o:beer:

    And today

1 hangover is not too bad.
2 not much work done, but don't care that much. I will tomorrow
3 took DD out driving. She don't like it much and isn't great at it, she isn't used to that - she's either immediately good or gives it up if she can't do it (I realise how awful that sounds). But she has to work at this until she can do it. But she got in and she practiced and is already Better
4 OH and I went out for a walk. Intending to go round the block for 20 mins, we ended up walking for an hour and 20 in the warm sunshine.
5 OH cooked dinner while I gave us clean sheets for tonight.

    Nighty night, sleepy tight
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    1. NSD

    2. Was triumphant at a word game this afternoon :)

    3. DD made us all laugh with her fabulous charades - not films and the like, but activities like "pretend you're shoeing a horse" :):)

    4. I have sorted out loads of lesson ideas and resources, in preparation for working in the library tomorrow - what fun ;)....!

    5. Yummy veggie cobbler for dinner, nomnom.
  • Sunday pleasures

    1. Waking up without an alarm and feeling refreshed.

    2. Sun streaming through curtains, a joyful sight.

    3. Playing cards with littlies, lots of giggles.

    4. Went to the filming of the chase tv show at london studios.
friend got free priority tickets so we strolled past all the poor people waiting for the chance of a stanby ticket.:o

5.Sitting with friends by the thames after filming, scoffing mcds and enjoying the quiet hum of london after dark.
    SIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:
    Very BNPL - £353.00:o
  • Arf Term. Good, the roads are clear for the rest of us, but I suppose most educationalists will be on holiday. See, get in thirst!.

Chicks run free, buds run free. Salmon Brunch and toast for lunch. Celery soup, Fresh bread, hope it is toasted instead of just bed. Crochet in bag, is that just knitting with big holes Yes, Raffles is abso as in ab so lute lee. Tea and sit by stove. Slipped yer feet into slippers, got to say this. We call it Chicken Poodles! I nose, you get it cuff, off the cuff. Lie in and bath. Goes in one. Nows, why BoPsie has a bath, it takes an hour. But when BoP has a beard trim, to sharpen the stubble, he makes a bee line for … naughty! Hangover. No sympathy. But let them f e e l the car. Insteda of just turns and burns, a longer drive Cobblers as well.

And to those having tubes, and poorlies. Here’s Jenny :heartpuls :heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpuls

5 No live Scrabble at the weekend, but BoPsie getting a little .. Now her shoes seem rather small at the moment when she plays. She slips into a slight lead, last nite I think it was 100 to BoP, averaging massively, and BoPsie comes in with a mega word, and slams down the X for Max and Zoom. Puts her in front, on 101! She then offers, or cannot control her giggles! Best of three. She lost one nil, again. What can I say.

Well I try to be nice, but she gets all so clumsy in her chair these days. You see her eyesight is fading now as well. And she came to her fab BoP on FriDi for sympathy about her eyes, and that she is going to be a speccy four eyes, only to get a retort from the Glasses wearing BoP. Not content, she rings her dad, and gues what. He called her that as well. At least the Dog House has the parrifin heater ready. Now, BoP does not condone the use of paraffin heaters without adequate ventilation. Ands, of course, we would not want BoPsie to be too cold do we. As for food, we have a spare can of soup and spagYETTI. Suppose it will be back to the Mary, Mungo and Midge for her!

4 talking of cans, Raffles, he is abso &, always goes of food refusal when a new can is open. Bit of a trait. But he seems to venture off, over the gate somewhere every morning. He hath routine. He is so comfortable on his boiler, that he now dangles feet over the edge.. On feeding, he lands on top, not like YestDi, where he missed the tables. If he could open the can, he would. But why, with the new can, does he let it mature first.

3 Bean bags ready, well we has had clear out, BoPsie is staying, but the old wood is going, in a few days. To the dump. And the old barbecue is off as well. Was hoping it was going to stay dry this week, but maybe I will put the stop weed down in a fortnight. Bin nearly 5 years since the last one, the edges are a bit ruff, just like BoP. No wrinkles, but the edges just need to be smoothed over.

2 Cannot understand when I sharpen by stubble, that the following day it starts to itch. Itch like a b…h it does. Now yesDi I splashed the real after shave on it, the one with the sailing vessel, and yes it does sting so. But normally this gets it sorted. This very morning, not itchy. But still just stubbly enuff for BoPsie. And also, because it was as close to the ides as can be, I cut my toe nails and bathed. Then put some body spray on. Now I am one to boast, but BoPsie was well impressed.

1 It is not for show, you know.

And the view from the salt mine this week. Slave to the labour. Is all about dithering dogfish today. To much to do, but nobody dare walk the plank.
  • Good evening all !

Frith - Oooh loving your allotment :D

DD- glad to hear that the hound is on the mend :T

VJsmum- Poor DD. I hated driving for ages . In fact my Driving Instructor used to turn up and I used to pay him to go away . I then did an intensive course (once a week for an hour not enough for me )for a week had a pervy examiner who put his hand over mine on the gearstick whilst I was doing my test and said stuff about how my boyfriend must love my blonde hair and blue eyes !!! Honestly you couldn't make it up really... and the git then failed me :rotfl:I preferred my motorbike even with chilblains :) I wish your DD all the best xx

LfS - nice to hear that you are in good working order;)

    5 for today

    1. Work ok

    2. 5 multi coloured eggs of varying sizes :DEarmarked for colleagues who always bring in stuff for them

3.One hen hoofed it when my DM fed them at lunchtime . She did the Benny H*ll run around the garden and managed to get the critter back in.:rotfl:

4.Chicken in a pepper sauce and rice for tea . Sounds nice but a bit too "chickeny" for my taste .

5.Used the exercise bike last night - butt now feels like its back where it should be ;).... for a bit

Have a good evening all !

  • Brill, my nite is maid. Just having vision of Mammy Chikka chasing chickens round the yard, and Chikka prepping the Pepper sauce.

Now what tune was it on Benny Hill!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    1) Had the rest of the smoked salmon on HM bread for breakfast.

    2) Had another go at chasing up my LL but found he was on holiday, so spoke to one of his colleagues instead. She was actually much more helpful, and I now have a promise of a heater (as they can't get a dehumidifier until the end of the week at the earliest), a contribution towards my electricity bills for running the heat, and (possibly) payment of the cost of my DM's hotel room as she now can't stay with me when she comes to visit next month. :j

    3) Took advantage of the lack of rain and went for a chilly but very pleasant walk in my lunch-break.

    4) Isis the whirlwind was back, for the first time since her illness. :D

    5) Couldn't be bothered to cook but knew I had to eat something as the tablets I'm taking give me stomach pains if I don't, so I had a RM, RTC cheese and onion pasty I picked up a couple of days ago.
Back after a very long break!

Not a meat cleaver in sight :o .

At least that Benny Hill tune knocks "sky rockets" out of my head

  • Quick five for today -

    1. Made a tortilla that included left over cheese and some cream from the weekend.
    2. Church science fiction and fantasy book club tonight. My wine wasn't started last time so someone is bringing it to tonight's venue.
    3. There are two chocolates left over from Valentine's Day which I can eat later.
    4. Planning a day out in the city with a friend - coffee and a salad at a cheap cafe chain and then the art gallery, which is free. We know how to live!
    5. MiL is home from her operation and is feeling chirpy. She has a lot of physio ahead, apparently, and she is rattling with medication, but she is doing well.
