    Almost bedtime here.

Have had a good day, work was good and got away half hour early again which was nice.

Watched casualty this morning before work, the first time in weeks it's been on YouTube, so watched and ironed :)

Borrowed 3 magazines from the box at the library .

Watched the first 2 episodes of call the midwife ( same YouTube uploader) with the girls this afternoon. We won't get it here for a few months.

Made a bolognese pasta dish ( no spaghetti just twirls ) for tea. Using courgette and tomatoes from the garden.

    Peas are coming up!

It rained this morning, blessed sound and most welcome . Then a cool 28o!
Back on the rise again from tomorrow again! Hopefully sleep better tonight.

I'm looking forward to my days off, all 3 of them.
    Have a lovely Wednesday :)
  • Snap Snap at the heels. And things that dag into your bodies. Ooop, got told last night not to remark on that. Oh well, are the cats ok today, even if their stocks of food are low. How is that Isis, our Raffles has his seating places all over now. In front of the fire, on the stool, atop the boiler, on the sidebored.

Oh, and this thread is how I like my tea, and my women. Loose.

5 Victory in the first game of Scrabble, due to a rule check being upheld. Rules as usual kept under the bored. And we have had to bring the referee in over Monday’s result, where I won by 3, and the final score was 5-2. On checking the small print, I won 6-1. Can you feel the beat gals.

4 Anyone else want to try it on. I am sure it will not dig, as I can say, in the ribs.

3 Always a pleasure to watch the BoPsie in the morning, and doing the Porage. You see I get to feed Raffles, she gets to feed me. And why does the cat, when a new can of food is opened, turn his nose up. Perhaps he likes his food matured!

2 day, well earlier &, just tuned in to the radio, to hear Eion Morgan send the ball flurrying into the crowd, only to be bowled next ball. Bring them home via Paris, and then they can walk the rest of the way.

1 Never actually tried one on!
  • Good evening all !

LfS- sky rockets in sight :rotfl:Hope they put your bits back proper like???:p:rotfl:

VJsmum - re cheese sauce .He didn't guess :T

    5 for today

    1. Day off :D it rained but still a DAY OFF !!

    2. It would be nice to actually drive when it isn't raining. Went out just to get fish and chips for me and DM for lunch. Large portions of both and ..err ate DM's chips that she couldn't manage :o "where do you put it all ?" She has been saying this for the last 44 years :)

3.Catch up tv in between snoozes with terrier this afternoon.

4.Dipped hair - half a box as per usual

5.Rummaged around in DM's bin as she had chucked out some vouchers that she thought was junk mail. She does use this shop so was pleased that her daughter is a dumpster diver .

Have a good day all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Evening all. Didn't get round to posting yesterday's pleasures but have caught up on all your posts - it's such a tonic reading other people's pleasures.

Five pleasures of mine for this soggy Tuesday:

    1. Mad rush getting jobs done in town late in the afternoon in the rain including going to the dump with recycling, getting Euros for DS1 who is abroad this coming weekend and braving W8rz where my freebie coffee was very welcome and warming.

    2. Got to the library as well, returned a book for DS1 and collected two I had reserved. Still no sign of The Hare with the Amber Eyes though. I still haven't read it yet Sparrer, although I know it will be a book that resonates a lot. I shall keep checking. I don't want to reserve books that are in our branch's usual stock. Reservations cost too much.

    3. My waterproof cape/poncho is fantastic in this weather. The DSs say that I look like one of the Rangers of the North from Lord of the Rings when I have the hood pulled well over my head. :D

    4. Enjoying Bletchley Circle (even though it's still a bit ott) and Paxman's WW1. Thanks for the heads up on that one whoever mentioned it. I don't see trailers because I only watch iplayer etc.

    5. Got DS2 back from work just now. Only DS1 to go and he'll be cold and tired when he gets in after midnight. Am going to put tikka on for an easy hot supper with a YS apple pie for DSs pud. They need the calories. I don't!

Have lovely evenings and sweet dreams

    Easy Seamstress!

I guess expecting BoP not to make a smart a*** comment is like expecting a cloud not to rain! ;) Isis is well, thank you, Raffles - I bought her a nice new bed to sleep on and she has, of course, now decided that my bed is better.

DD - glad you're home safe, and enjoyed the rain - I bet it won't be long before you're as sick of it as the rest of us, though!

    1) A slice of delicious HM lemon cake that a colleague brought in for her birthday.

    2) Received my payslip for this month, with a small pay rise in it. Actually a very small pay rise - even back-dated for several months it's well under £100 - but extra money in any quantity is always welcome!

    3) Took a packed lunch into work for the second day in a row.

    4) Took advantage of my forthcoming Monday off and booked a grocery delivery, using a company I haven't shopped with before so I could take advantage of a money off and a cashback offer, both for new customers only.

    5) Made a pan of spicy chorizo and veg stew, for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow.
Back after a very long break!

Feeling quite blue again today, various pants stuff going on that if I wasn't feeling low already, I would be able to shrug off.

    1. Had a lovely hair cut this morning

    2. The school visit was ok, they've got great facilities and it's a lovely village school; there were 2 other NQTs from my uni there, I felt old and grey (well I am certainly the latter, realised my hair is going more white than silver at the front :( ) and hopefully I made the right kind of comments to the head and deputy who we met whilst going round the school, so they'll remember me fondly when it comes to reading my as-yet unwritten application! Not sure why I didn't come away buzzing with excitement from it, thought I would, but that could be my general grrness coming through!

    3. Remembered to take a coat, so didn't get completely soaked in the tipping rain!

    4. Great time at two of my favourite museums this afternoon which I have to visit with my uni group as part of our learning how to take children to museums....which is okay for me, as I take DD to them a lot ;)

    5. DD's cuddles, which nearly made me cry as I love them so much.

    6. Had a nice long lie-in this morning, as I didn't have to go out until about 9:30am :)

    7. I picked up my new glasses and they're FAB! I need to get used to the varifocalness of them, but it's lovely to read any sized print I like :)

    8. I'm reading a great children's book, all about ghosts but not in a scary way at all. Must pass it to DD afterwards, and she's reading a book I've got my eye on too!

    Evening everyone :hello:

Not many OS pleasures today, especially as I had my hair cut. My hairdresser has put up his prices, BUT he does an amazing job. He was the first hairdresser I've ever felt comfortable with, so after 8 years of paying his prices I'm almost immune to them!

    So, my pleasures:

    1) Sausages for supper (haven't had them for 2 weeks! ;) )

    2) Finished my last bit of cake taken from cake club. It was delicious!

    3) White wash done!

    4) Read tips on how to clean parts of the house that are often neglected. So by reading and not doing the house cleans itself. No? :rotfl:

    5) Sorting out birthday cards to send in February. Then all I have to do is post them close to the birthday date!!

Busy day tomorrow, so off to bed I go. :) Night all xxx

DD - I don't know why we don't have sardines on toast more often as we all love them!

KK - sorry to hear you are not feeling on top form. Good news re museum visits, though. (Don't forget to give their Education Officers a ring and get a copy of their Education Programmes)

Lots of tummy aches and burping again so have made another appointment with the doctor.

    Pleasures for today.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Smaller son had a good day at school and his class teacher stopped me as we left to say she was pleased with his homework.

    3) Builders came to measure up the bathroom and emailed me their quote within hours! Still massively expensive. :-(

    4) Went to the Airfix/Hornby modelling shop after school.

    5) Chicken with harissa and chick peas for tea then apple and raspberry crumble. Still ploughing through all the bags of brother's apples that I froze!

    6) Assignments and info arrived for Mental Health Awareness course.

    7) Smaller son and I made a station to go with his railway.

    8) I am now back on my best mummy in the world pedestal!
