Frith - I've seen that pricing anomaly, too, on various items in Mr T - different sugars, flours, seeds and grains, choc. They'll set things in one section, then feature/shelve it again at stupid-times-price in some other aisle, like World Foods or Home Baking or Seasonal.
ccp - hope Isis didn't hear you writing '...minus the cat food, which I forgot and will have to buy later in the week.' But who buys a can of dogfood@£2.36, as heard on R4's You and Yours today?
kk - no frog prince yet, but Miss Honey will have her happiness, be assured. You already have your clever and perceptive Matilda-dd. I think it's time you reminded yourself what a brave, long-term sacrifice you electively made for every pupil who will ever have the good fortune to be on your Register. They will remember you as the teacher that every child should have at least once in their formal education[the earlier the better],but so few do. We're here to cheer you on all the way. You are bringing a 360 degree round of talents and disciplines to those children, Humanities, Arts, Sciences, in a personal and accomplished way. I'm certain Vicky, vjm, dd all see it there.
vicky - how was your day of similar?
TWIMC:-) - won't say how many copies of The Hare with Amber Eyes are around here. I buy it when I see it, another tuck-away for foisting on too-slow-to-escape others.

Now children, &'s itchy spelling fingies can't be stilled. Thus is the subject of 'brooches' broached.

    1. nsd/npd hier.

    2. L-h visit again today, with two 1sts which would mean nothing here, but help bring levity, lift mood where I go.

    3. A particularly messy multiplex of traffic lights/lanes/turns were green, which I cannot remember ever having happened before.

    4. McCulloch - no idea why, but found myself hoping you were hearing this yesterday:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03s6jv9. Was on way out but stopped.
'A Shepherd in London'. Annoyingly, I've missed the first one. Enjoyable, judicious writing. Loved it.

    5. Troubling things, but must persist for those who can't. So, & equates this symbolically with tonight's 2 overcrowded pots of Tête à Tête narcissi in little £land pots=£1; another little crammed pot of tiny cyclamen ex w8rs, [STRIKE]£3 [/STRIKE]19p, now watered from bone-dry dust. If they can recover, survive, thrive, so can the people with whom these struggling plants have parallels. I suppose there's something like this at work in most of my No More Plants buys.

Good grief, where did 9 o'clock come from?
    ##########
pk - that's a Hugs post. You and your OH are very special.

    Evening

Kittikins - Hugs and have a better day tomorrow with no toads to sour the day.
PK - Gentle hugs to you, nice that you can share happy memories

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Packed lunches for everyone today with leftovers for me, very nice it was to
    2. Booked myself a theatre ticket for Thursday afternoon and it only cost £11.
    3. Opened DD's bank statement by mistake thinking it was mine. Big sigh of relief when realised my mistake as thought account had been hacked.
    4. Sausage and Pasta soup for dinner with two portions leftover for lunches.
    5. Made some good progress on boring long project at work today see if I can keep it up tomorrow.

Hugs to all who need them

    3. Read an interesting blog on a family that have decided to live a year of thrift. http://ahiveofactivity.blogspot.co.uk/
I must get along to the Darlo Sunday Market and say hi to this lady, who has a stall there. I've committed myself to shopping locally and maximising NSDs but I haven't been outside the town for shopping - apart from online - since October.

Thanks for so many interesting posts.
    Pleasures:
    1. Some useful freebies in the post and some to come that I can use as raffle prizes.

    2. Haggis... not on Burns Night as Dr C had a meal out with colleagues, but this evening. Spicy and tasty.

    3. As was my second effort from the soup maker. I'm warming to this gadget very much indeed.

    4. Angrove Rumbaba did it again. Best coloured, best horse shown in hand, reserve champion two weeks running at different shows. People are showing real interest in his half-brother, the stallion 'Pudding' as a sire. Exciting.

    5. A lovely machine washable Kilkis mat is now down in the kitchen, big enough to provide a warm surface to stand on when at the sink and prepping food on the worksurfaces. (100x 67 cm)
Paid for with survey vouchers, and £10 cheaper than in the cheapest retail outlet, with free delivery, arriving 4 days earlier than expected. Result.

    6. Have been watching Jeremy Paxman on The Great War as I type. Brilliant, he is a warm and empathic presenter for this type of programme, the very opposite of his Newsnight persona.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

I so wish I had the time to read every post properly and talk directly to all of you lovely people. Alas, another post on the run after skimming the earlier posts. Here are my blessings:

    1. In spite of another bad night, I got up and made DH breakfast and pack lunch
    2. Making lists and posting them to a closed group of internet friends is helping me keep focused and do things instead of moping and slumping.
    3. Nice morning chat with DS, he is an absolute delight these days, thanks God.
    4. Yoga class at lunchtime
    5. Tea and cake (1/2 each) with friend after yoga
    6. Lovely lentil soup for a simple dinner with DH

    Good night xx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Hello all, I seem to have gotten behind with my posting.

Kittikins, what a pillock. There'll be others
DD, welcome back. Glad you had such a lovely time.
    Mhags, stay cool

For the last few days, sorry if any repetition

That amazing storm on Saturday. I love a good storm. Though I am sorry that people suffered damage
    Getting through the marking
Had I been to see August Osage County? Anyway enjoyed that
Went to friends on Saturday night. Drank copious wine and the birthday champagne they gave me. No hangover - result :T
Friends cooked a delicious curry and amazing ice cream (if you cook ice cream)
Saturday was a logistical nightmare as DD was in the city at rehearsals, DS went to Manchester for a footie match, I was at home and OH was in Milton Keynes helping Mil move. Amazingly we all ended up in Nottingham at friends house. Blew their minds. Proud of DS who took himself off to a Manchester suburb to watch our local team and then got himself to Nottingham - he is only 14! And he kept in contact with us at various points so we knew where he was.
SiL has overtaken me in the league of ace daughters in law as she also helped MiL move and turned a bunch of boxes into her home within 5 hours. I am resigned to second (of two:D) place.:rotfl:
Call the midwife and musketeers. Not sure i am following the latter. Did get some knitting done though
Lunch with friends today. Though two of them nearly came to blows  the one who isn't really a friend was totally out of order. I wonder if I should have stood up for friend, though she did rather well on her own
Lovely lamb shanks cooked in slow cooker last night, with the best roasties ever
Have made lovely rocky road and bread pudding. Rocky road gone within a day

    Think that's me rounded up

    Night night all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Ah, bless you kittikins, DigForVictory and CCP. That means a lot. xxx

    So, my pleasures for today:

    1) Observation went well :j :j I've been teaching for 8 years and have been observed goodness knows how many times; it never gets easier. :o My nerves always take over! :o

    2) Cake club was great tonight. I owned up and said that DH had baked my cake - but I drizzled icing over it! :D It was delicious. Also a good venue in a pub I'd never been to. Definitely will be popping back.

    3) Friend and I have decided that we'll be teaming up to watch loads of "chick flicks" as our DHs are allergic to these films. :p

    4) Shirts washed... Not a pleasure as I detest ironing them once dried!

    5) Contemplating what to cook tomorrow night. I love having a freezer full! :D

    Night all x

KK you are so much too good for that idiot (would use a stronger word but think I might get banned )
Tealady thanks for the memories, my first visit to that theatre was when I was 17, we saw a wonderful production of Salad Days. There have been many since but I remember the atmosphere and delight of that particular theatre like it was last week.
DFV the felt flowers sound lovely, clever son
DD safe flight. Having your layers to hand reminds me of when DS worked for some Saudis, when the women came here to shop they changed from traditional dress into jeans etc halfway. Except you'll be changing from summer clothes to Sherpa gear!
chicken had to smile at your efforts to get off your drive. It must be difficult going from your large OGV to a smaller one as I discovered with my new Korean job. You'd think it would be easier but it took me weeks to park in straight it in my drive
Broomstick I've just read the synopsis of the Hare With The Amber Eyes, there are so many similarities to my family I need to read it. Will be on the lookout for my copy tomorrow.
Frith well done on finding the coconut milk at the right price. It certainly pays to look around sometimes

    1. I've been helping a family member sort out some finances. they're now in a far better position that a month ago. They've also become keen readers on MSE and learned a lot of :money: tips
    2. nsd/npd
    3. turned the last of the haggis into a hash, layered with mashed swede and topped with cheesy potato. Pretty yum
    4. a snowdrop. Just the one but so tiny, pretty and smiley, well it made me smile anyway :D
    5. a bit of ironing, a bit of dusting but mostly a sleep day. Usually I hate them as they're a waste of time but have to admit I did enjoy being lazy today

    Sweet dreams :)
