npjc, hope Grandma recovers, or at the very least, continues to keep happy with bedrest and sherry!
Welcome, SSS, that sounds like a good five pleasures-worth to me!
DfV, not Risk (I might have been tempted to play if it had been!), this was some sort of role play game but with two extension packs so it was huge and took them over 10 hours of actual game time in the end (with extra time spent on reading rules). They really enjoyed it.:D

    Five pleasures for Thursday:

    1. Slept in again.

    2. Went back to bed to keep warm after I'd had a shower :D, and read. Very lovely with sun shining through the windows. I'm determined to rest my way out of this sore throaty bug.

    3. Lots of good children's lit on radio iplayer at the moment. Agree about National Velvet, Ampersand. Easy listening to Susan Cooper's King of Shadows - the book's better but this isn't a bad adaptation. Good 'Archive on 4' about the history of fairy tales: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01pf5sv/Archive_on_4_What_Big_Teeth_You_Have.../ and there's Alan Bennett's/Richard Brier's Wind in the Willows too which I've heard before and is lovely.

    4. Quorn fillets, baked spuds and big helpings of salad for supper. very easy and good.

    5. Nearly restored kitchen to a state of cleanliness. Babysteps. :D

    Sweet dreams.

Another restless night in jetlagsville! Sounds wild and windy outside. I read that back home we have bush fire warnings over weekend. I have a gaggle of friends coming over tonight and I'm looking forward to catching up with them.

    Have a lovely day :)

    Morning

Sounds like everyone had a lovely Christmas.

Pleasures for the last couple of days,
    1. DD and OH loving their presents and I got some lovely and unexpected presents as well.
    2. Very yummy Christmas lunch cooked by MIL
    3. Lots of laughter as DD, OH, FiL and Sil played card games, think lots of cheating was going on but they were all enjoying it
    4. Day at the races yesterday at Kempton Park, just a few minutes walk from inlaws. DD, Mil and OH all had a win so happy people.
    5. Christmas dinner left overs yesterday again at inlaws
    6. Back home to our own bed

Just waiting for the builder to arrive as lost another tile in the winds last night so fingers crossed is an easy fix.

Sparrer - hope all goes well today

Hugs to all who need them
