CCP which one is your sandwich ? It wouldn't let me see on my iPad or my laptop.
So almost bedtime here in rainy and chilly Melbourne ....just been for a walk around the sports oval with OH ( did it last night too) and we were just in when it started pouring ...so the pleasure was staying dry.
Worked for 8 hours today ....more cleaning but getting paid and getting more hours from next week.
Met up with work girlies for coffee pre work this morning,I got the train in and sauntered down all the while chatting to my mum on the phone.
We went out for lunch and had a cheap and cheerful sandwich. However tomorrow I think I will take some fruit in with me as I can't afford to eat out everyday...normally we get our food provided but we've no equipment / food in yet.
Made chicken fried rice for dinner...well I enjoyed it! apparently it lacked taste! Chicken was rtc.
Think that's been my day!
Hope you're not too storm damaged0 -
4 Radio silence still imposed. I bet the hacks are scurrying around thriving to inflate the figures. Seems to be the only thing blowing here. Nor hath the flood of great biblical aberrations shown itself.
1 He thinks himself a Poet!
2 gether with Ms Whack yesterday. We had roast buzzard, and for the thirst time in years, when we put the buzzard out, it has remained out! Gone this morning as the birds have swooped and taken. Also, we had the seconds from last weeks spotted !!!!!!, with extra lumpy custard, with sunken skin!
5 Amazing fruit salad, all home made by the current Lady BoP. Melon, Pineapple, oranges. Fresh, not the canned variety. She does big tub and covers it in the fridge. All part of me five a day and nice as well. Marmite, cheese and crunch sarnie as well. Proper good food. Now all I need when I get across the swing bridge, is some hops to complete my five.
3 Will not be doing a FA Cup 3rd round match this year, though DD the mariners are through.
Catch up later, must dash0 -
I may have got excited about getting a new cat too soon. The manager at CP is now having serious second thoughts about my suitability as a home for Isis - she's going to call me back when she's thought about it, so in the meantime I'm sitting here biting my nails and wondering which way she'll decide.
Sorry, just needed to share!Back after a very long break!0 -
CCP what on earth is their problem?!? does she / he give any reasons at all. What a numpty, I hope it's just a glitch. but fingers crossed when you have Isis with you safely I would make it very clear how you feel.
When we adopted our first ferrets many years ago, they came over and the first thing she said was, I don't know how to keep ferrets!:eek:0 -
To be fair to them, I can understand their thinking - Isis was a farm cat, and they're concerned that she won't be happy moving into a city, particularly as I work full-time and she won't be able to come and go whenever she wants. I will be... not happy, but accepting, if they decide we're not a good match - it's not knowing what they'll decide that's getting to me.Back after a very long break!0

No help at all ccp, just wanted to send a slightly
To think of all the little lives needing such a home as you offer.
You are being too kind in seeing their point of view.
Hugs from all, I'm certain, as we wait to hear...
As for 'Isis was a farm cat, and they're concerned that she won't be happy moving into a city' - hasn't she been with them 4 months now?
Of all domestic animals, cats are the most adaptable.
Fingers crossed for you.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Big Hugs to CCP - the waiting is 'orrible. (That it Does tend to power the elbow through Everything on the To Do list is No Excuse!)
Assorted digits crossed!0 -
Panic over - Isis is coming home on Saturday as planned. After calling three times I finally got hold of the manager, who told me she couldn't remember what had been worrying her and "I'm sure it will all be fine".:mad::mad:
Just to mess with me even more, she told me that the cat I liked best (who, as you might remember, I decided not to adopt as she doesn't like other cats on her patch) has never been as friendly and affectionate with any other visitor as she was with me - thanks for sharing that.
I can now go back to looking forward to getting Isis on Saturday, although I will probably have a polite but firm word about messing me about when I go to collect her!Back after a very long break!0 -
Chickenopolis - sounds like you should try Frith's storm proofing techniques?
Kittikins - World's End worth hunting down!
ampersand - lifetime map updates are ace!
CCP- mner mner doo doo do-doo! Drat CP "having to consider" - how many offers of a loving home has that cat had in 4 months?! Cat chose you - what more do they want?! HURRAH - sense has dawned!
mhagster - chicken can be a deceitful protein... (Says she eying marinades & my standby buddy, soy sauce.)
BoP - the fruit salad sounds glorious!
Purple kitten - are ferrets as loving & intelligent as I hear?
OS pleasures
A real proper loving mother wouldn't laugh, but eldest chanting "Rise! Rise! Rise!" because he hadn't changed the clock on his Kindle...
Nice to know he wants to be punctual for his consultant though.
"Food is to chew, not inhale!"
"Could've fooled me." (Child got me squarely, bless him...)
"Common sense doesn't see things my way." For every four times he tempts me to consider infanticide, my teenager will at least once near blind me with laughter.
Listening to the unexpected shouts of laughter as back-from-Expedition son catches up with The World's End - he's wearing headphones, so every chortle is startling, but he's clearly loving it!
Family bouncing at stir fried rice with PEK. They're feeling the cold, or my Cupboard Surprise wouldn't be anywhere near as acceptable!
Big hugs & solid weatherproofing to all who need them!0 -
Good evening all !
I do hope that you are all ok? PK- were you hit badly?
CCP - sorry to hear about the leak. Glad to hear that Isis will be coming to live with you (hopefully no more puddles on the carpet)
DFV - nice post, as ever
