Looks so good bop, I've decided put it here again. I might leave a small[healthier size] portion for you and Lady Smack, depends on your scrabble comportment and forswearing of triple-word placements.
Hands in butter = touchy-feely variant of yellow thing?
ccp - there are such days and this is the country and far too long season for them I fear. Your yellow calla lily continues though - one for each of us survived and it will be yours when I'm next that way. A kitty on your lap would be cuddling you now and giving strokey purrs in response to your mood. You'll feel right again come visit day. We all need somebody to love, of whatever kind.
dd - glad you made it to Ruswarm[westernised sp]. What cake did you have? Goodness me, I declare postie's been by the time you're back tonight.
1. Well, out at sparrow's this morn. Weather vile - poor booters, but picked up a sweet tilt-top table with a lovely flame/oyster quartered veneer, just before the horrendous downpour. Greeted floridly - but it's lovely - by M of Spits. Yes, I will be down on Thurs.
2. Found Pound on Ground.
3. 2 hi-arc rainbows against pewter sky as M and I spoke. Pics taken. Thunder rolled.
4. Greeted by H, way off home territory and he thanked me for suggesting Trump. Despite weather, he was selling well - has real antiques, good stuff. I could handle this sort of companionability with The One, but my Lovejoys here are young gay chaps. H., with his then-partner, was beyond wonderful to me at time of R's suicide.
5. Quick free w8rs cappu in last hours before month's denial. Such consternation expressed by all in queue. We are given 4 dated '£3 off shop' vouchers as apology for upheaval. We might be mollified. Was v.v.v.pleased to buy Burts Bees Lip Balm@49p, instead of £3.49, as all who know of Burts Bees anything will know!!! Have 6.
6. Why not do late tack over to Rowley Mile, taking pouring rain and thunder with me, to Antiques Fair? Immediately see M, S, M, S and R from Spits[Oxford comma] and others, as you do....weather Hellish, awful for those supposedly under cover outside. Packing up started early. A horrific glass-y sounding crash over right somewhere. As usual, the instant hush, and no-one quite looks across to see who/what. Word'll get round soon enough. 3 good bits of ivory for £10 - a flat yokai, possibly hu usage,an immaculate little hinged-blade fruit-knife, silver pinned, but wholly ivory, inc. blade, which I've never seen before and an apothecary's speculum, poss. cut down but still good and I think I see a very worn set of characters on the paddle.
7. Remembered to pick up 2 sacks of carrots for neighbour's bunnies, now housed in très luxe high-rise condo's.
8. rtc w8rs coffee eclair for no good reason - call it dessert, but that's what I've called the turkish delight also bought. Might go and have some more....of both. Bed, books, radio, green tea. WARM WATER ON TAP - such pleasure. This time last week was in my O2 seat.
Hearing more unwelcome forecasts for the Sydney firefighters.
It seems to be the season of trials for many on this Thread too. I wish you all the magic wand of need or choice.
Continuing pleasure - spooky men's chorale continues in my unconscious humming a great deal and was again asked about it twice today. In w8rs, man said he was following me to listen, liked what he heard.

p.s. mhags - ablutions have been performed throughout, especially in hotter climes a.k.a. South of France, even in septembre/octobre.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

5 for today
1. Woke up , dozed off again because I could.:)
2. Opened another free sample of Clini*ue to use , that I got in B**ts yesterday- should last me about a month or two.
3. Two more loads of washing dried on line before the heavy rain
4. Roast chicken dinner made by yours truly.
5. OH took the terrier out with me which made a change.
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

YUP!!!
Lots of us in that Club, chicken.
Suspect Frith may want to join?
Just heard inept verbal flatulence of govt minister for 'free' schools, whose employment of English precisely demonstrated the level of unqualified teacher she must have had...'new innovation' being one tiresome example.
Her repetition of 'incredibly' as inflating adverb in screechy defence of l.c.d Gove-nomic education spout was manic and flawed.
Having heard the remarkable 98 year-old Jeremy Hutchinson speaking of the dismantling of things achieved in his lifetime - DID today...case in point.
Just heard minister's name - Liz Truss, sounds about right.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

DD.Love the link, that is very talented I just know I wouldn’t have the patience, we have a wooden lorry with drawers as the sides for the sweets
1.I forgot to mention yesterday DH bought a “gold marmite” tis supposed to be festive, with gold flecks in?
2.Actually downloaded a couple of films and watched them rather than just have it on in the background, with some great laugh out loud:)moments
3.I forgot to put some chicken in the freezer so I have cooked up curry and casserole bases and they are going to be frozen away
4. Had a lovely Sunday afternoon
5. Had a lottery win, a whole 3 numbers, half way there.:T
6. Had a snooze.:o0 -
CCP - how fares the search? In a mostly-quiet office?! Hurrah on those orange sticky wins! Glad the peppers thrive. Time under the duvet is seldom wasted.
VJsmum - the upside of monster preparation is that it's good for ages. (I'm 'sound' on Tudors *decades* after I learned the nuts & bolts!) enjoy the weekend - and the marking if possible!
Purple kitten - real chicken stock <awe!> Delighted to hear you can entertain with Both Feet Up. Have fun with mooli! Gold marmite loads of fun - startles the unwary...
Frith - the joy of hair is that it grows. Meanwhile a woolly cap is not hard to knit [*I* managed...]
mcculloch - share your concern about sitting, but standing not always a feasible alternative. I'm doomed.
ampersand - great getting email to NatWest. Love sweetpeas... Keep BoP in line, eh?! Delroy hero du jour! Your odd little jumble sounds brilliant! Burts Bees win superb. Tailed for what you were humming, eh? (Pets with issues slightly easier IMHO)
lovefullshelves - heroine for helping Fred, sure his missus approves!
sparrer - covet your cylamen!
BoP - those games are bad for your wealth - cats are safer! Wobbleades may make your scrabble score go down. Yeay for Real Porridge! and Phwoar that photo!
mhagster - hoping listening to FILs funeral helped? Love the idea of tex returns whilst painting toenails! (You really are a nice long way away from the bad fires?)
Skint yet Again - all gfs should be out by 11. Or be fianceeees. All the best with personal trainer - even if pain doesn't feel good for you.
Kittikins - hospital visiting & bus tickets - atta girl! Very well done on weardrobe overhaul!
DD - if you can't get the sleep to fight off the cold, hit the paprika! Travel safe! Love that advent - where will you get matchboxes?!
Chickenopolis - wondering what you bribe a hen with... Happy birthday DM! Dozed off because I could - lovely!
OS Pleasures this weekend
Sons cleaning bedrooms without swearing & bathroom glinting like a surgeons theatre. (Visitors expected!) All without a word of prompting!
Clippers revealing the lovely lines of sons' skulls. Free father son bonding & smart results - win win win!
Son studying 21st century women - some days I look forward to reading his homework! (He thinks there's only stereotyping & sexism in Some workplaces - curious, I asked him where it wasn't & got told to go away for being depressing! Ah well.)
Drafted notes on the benefits of being legally employed and then listening to m'father's somewhat stunned response - he's never been the employer before!
Granny sent glow sticks for Halloween... Lurid green uplighting great fun for all!
Bannock - made with ground almond, sultanas, etc as well as oats. Yum!
Bacon sandwich made by son learning how to use a camping stove correctly. He's so pleased & proud, & it's not that burnt. Hurrah for DofE!
Food tech requires two sons to bring in chocolate. I do hope they are studying hard & bring work home...
Son has a Reading Week coming up & has asked if he may borrow from my Pratchett collection?! He's dived happily into Mort - I may wean him off graphic novels by Christmas, but as long as he's reading!
Checked peppers - now three little green nubbins & still four flowers!
Great big hugs to all who need them!0 -
Peeks round the door. Tiptoes very quietly in. Whispers.
Hello again.
What a year... and it continues bumpily along. It's not been easy at all hence my absence for 8 or 9 months and there's more difficulties ahead. I have so much catch up reading to do here and it's lovely to see so many old faces still around. I miss focusing on simple pleasures so I'm back again.
:heart2: to one of my father's best friends/contemporaries/ex colleagues who died at home today in his late 80s. I know it was the right time and place for him but it's still so sad. I'd known him since I was tiny.
Five for Sunday:
1. A management consultant whose children are involved in our sports club telling me what an amazingly good job we are doing running it.
2. Making a friend who'd had a tough day today laugh lots. She had a very smiley voice at the end of the phone call.
3. Spending time with my parents, glad my DSs and I were there when the call about my dad's friend came through.
4. Listening to Episode 4 of Pamela Brown's Golden Pavements on Radio iplayer - book from my childhood.
5. Eating a Magnum for pudding (hardly MSE but DS1 bought them as a treat for us so it cost me nothing!)
Sweet dreams

Definitely not the rain we have had today as a pleasure, one of those days when your washing was in then out etc....
1. Lovely walk with little dog who didn't growl, out stare or lunge at another dog, for once.
2. Cuddles with new DGD and many photos.
3. Meeting up with a lovely friend who has had a serious op and is recovering well.
4. Chinese for tea.
5. knowing i'm off work this week so alarm clock firmly switched off.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000 -
Welcome back (((hugs))) Broomstick
. Sorry you've been having a bit of a bumpy ride, hope the expected difficulties won't last long.
DFV I'll look forward to hearing what the DS's make with the chocolate - if you ever get to see the results!
chicken well done on the free sample, it'll save you a good amount
Skint good for you keeping up with the exercise plan, it should get easier as time goes on
CCP you're wise to think twice about adoption, if you're feeling unsettled about it now it's best to wait until you're certain what you want to do. Though I wonder if your forthcoming visit will change your mind, which is why I have to stay away from rescue centres
1. Bought a replacement mop at last. Is that a pleasure? The floors will be clean again but it means I have more work to do:eek:
2. Lunch out with friends, had a child's menu of 2 courses plus a huge cup of tea which was under £5 and more than enough for me. The cup was so big one friend asked if I was going for a swim :rotfl:
3. There are always lots of riders through the villages on Sundays but today there was a party of about thirty riders and several pony and traps full of children. It was a charity ride for disabled children, they looked so happy that even the damp weather didn't spoil it for them, waving at everyone as they went past
4. Sunshine this afternoon
5. Lovely message from DGD1 to say that she and her OH had their first meal in their own little home, champagne chilled in their new ff and a Chinese, which will be their last take-away til they know how much their expenses will be. Sounds like they have their priorities in order
