Thank you for so much interesting reading. Esp the weeing duvet.
1. Decluttering continues apace.
Dr C. was in the attic yesterday unearthing all sorts of boxes for things we no longer own. In December we will have been in this house for 25 years. We let it out for 6 months in 1992, and I swear some of the boxes in there were from when we returned, so around 20 years of age!
I've never been able to fully climb into the attic as the roof space is low and I am less than nimble.
I just stand wobbling on the ladder reaching through the hatch for what is in arm's reach.
Dr C. filled the car in a trip to the recycling centre this evening and there is still more to go.
2. Profit decluttering. Unwanted, unloved but 'too good for CS' items that were too much of a faff for the bay of E went to C@sh Converters this afternoon. Dr C/DS came back with £99.
3. A lovely Sunday lunch chicken stretched to a lovely curry this evening and a bag of scrappy bits that will be ideal in a risotto.
4. Brown rice on as a Specialbuy in A!di, along with risotto rice. Duly stocked up, Dr C. is v. fond of this. Brown rice £1.29, as against £1.75 in Mr T's. Risotto rice 79p against £1.10 or £2.09 in Mr Ts.
5. Had completely forgotten about the little treat of a luxurious shower creme that I had ordered for myself from Av0n that arrived this evening. Sandalwood and vanilla. I have confessed all on the toiletries thread.
6. On - line learners actually doing some work! Hooray!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Hello sunny x
Thanks for the well wishes, uni was fun!
1. Slept better last night and woke reasonably refreshed but with a bad case of bed head, lol
2. Got to uni in good time to meet up with other newbies for a coffee before the first lecture
3. The 'getting to know you tasks' were suitably groanworthy but at least we did them in our tutor groups not in front of everyone!
4. Took a packed lunch
5. Have done some work for tomorrow's group presentation!! Thankfully we have time tomorrow morning to work on it together
6. Lovely email from my old boss wishing me luck today.
7. Managed to get home in time to take DD to her first Brownies session - she loved it, and they look like they're going to have a great term (kind of wish I could be a helper but maybe that's a tad ambitious....)
8...although I am seriously debating going on a 6-week BSL course on Wednesday nights through uni. Am I crackers?!
9. Have made friends with librarians at uni - such helpful people to know
10. Have made some new chums, and not everyone is young enough to be my child, just most of them, lol.
11. Feeling relieved that I've got the first day over
12. Looking forward to going to bed with the nice crisp fresh cotton sheets - oh and with a 'good' book, anyone for a spot of 'Reflective Teaching'? 590 pages of fun, fun, fun I'm sure0 -
Welcome sunnyskies, love the cheerful name

BoP there will be more sparks flying if people don't stop saying 'what if....' as in what if the curtains had caught/what if you hadn't been in the room etc etc . Nothing happened, all is well, so what if I just bopthem on the nose
. Oh, and you sound so happy to be with Mrs BoP every evening now, so what if you do the gentlemanly thing and let her win once in a while?
mhags bloomin' freezing, windy and wet here too, with occasional glimpse of the yelllow thing just to tease us into thinking it's on its way back. Sadly no chance here but at least you'll soon be seeing it every day

Yoohoo! Waving hello from my new table and chairs in my front porch, it's almost 6 pm, still light and here's what's happening in my garden. Birds are being noisy and getting ready to roost, I can hear the always noisy magpies, minah birds, my crows , in their nest in our gumtree , they have babies. My lovely blackbirds singing their song, beautiful lorikeets and the cockatoos will be over soon! The sunset is reflecting on the tree trunks across the road and if I don't look at the weeds the garden is very pretty. Alstroemerias at front door, pots and pots of lavender, geranium , freesias, roses starting to bloom, anemone , bottle brush bushes, cyclamen and lots and lots I don't know the names of! It's very soothing to sit here.
So number one pleasure a day off! Yes chicken I am a lot happier in this new job, when I sat with old customers yesterday , whilst I didn't want to biatch about old place as that wasn't the only reason I left, they knew why ( who) I had left! I told them little angry man had told me I had terrible customer care skills one day. They were horrified as I was probably the one person who knew everybody , what they liked , which department they worked in etc because I talked to them. Talking to customers is very much encouraged in new job. I actually went to my GP to get my hormone levels checked as I thought I was peri menopausal , I was so emotional ( crying at work everyday!) ....hormones fine....little git of a manager not so fine! So I have not looked back , not once thought ....ooh maybe I should just have stayed, job was secure, hours were regular , every weekend off....etc but I wasn't one bit happy! The fact that my old customers have came to find me at my new place speaks volumes to me!
And I have not cried since! Not even once ! And as a professional cryer that is something!
Been a busy woman today, felt quite a lot achieved in my day whilst still being fairly relaxing.
Hoovered, washed floors, cleaned bathrooms, washing out ( always with an eye out the window as promised rain never came! ) , made DD2 her collage with photos and show programme.
Postie brought me 2 letters, enjoyed reading them and wrote straight back to one and posted it!
Went into next town and got photos developed, sorted them out and into envelopes for the grannies! Bought a few groceries...milk and fruit and rtc coconut/ jam biscuity things!
Made a chicken curry in the slow cooker, smells lovely.
Went to library with DD2 and we borrowed some DVDs.
Swept ( again!) the driveway, last nights torrential rain brought down lots of twigs and stuff off the tree.
At the moment the sky is a beautiful light blue with orange and pink whispy clouds....in 10 minutes it will be DARK o'clock! We don't have a dusk, we just go from light to very dark in minutes as the sun goes down.
I wish you all a lovely day.....thought of you frith and frith juniors as our local library was doing a geocache talk today!
DD1 is not eating with us again tonight , has been invited back to her friends .....they have 5 kids so I guess one more wont make too much of a difference....all the more chicken curry for us!
I'd better go in before the mozzies come and get me!0 -
Went Awol as usual, back again now, Hopefully I'll be able to remember to post and will stick around a bit longer this time :rotfl:
My five for yesterday/this am.
1. Caught up on the ironing, not a pleasure to be doing it but a pleasure that it's done!
2. MIL sent plum compote, plum jam, fresh eggs and homegrown tomatoes as a thank you for us having their dog whilst they were away.
3. Going to spend the day in the kitchen, baking and soup making.
4. Discovered the Xmas thread and decided to make the chocolate Santa sleighs for all the family! Brimming with ideas for things I can use.
5. Got some vouchers from surveys to spend. I'm thinking of using them to invest in a food dehydratorComper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150
