Sorry to hear about your friend's husband, VJsmum.

Glad you are enjoying Berlin, DD. Its been ages since I went to Germany.

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Went to the scrapyard for pneumatic things that hold the boot door open. I have an MPV and the boot door is so heavy, I needed a son to hold it open. If they'd let go, I would have been chopped in two! Anyway, bought those and fitted them in just a few minutes and now the boots pings up with just a touch, instead of having to be yanked up and forcibly held up.

    3) Went to a pub with brewery attached with mum and dad. In the Black Country (where dad comes from).

    4) Also on tour of duty in the BC, went to see uncle (94). Dad sat with him so we could take aunty out for a cup of tea as she is his full time carer. It was the first time she had left the house for months.

    5) Sons came home! Hoorah!

    6) Smaller son has confirmed arrangements with his school friend about going bowling for his birthday on Sunday.

Frith - Full of particularly noxious envy, I'm determined to hi-jack 'now the boots pings up with just a touch '...mine's still not pinging at all.

    Guten Abend, lieber DD x

Very glad DrC is on the up Mcculloch, don't like to think of a good man being down in the dumps x

    1. We've come home for the weekend :):):)

    2. Fruitless morning going to another agency, doing all the tests and spiel etc etc, heading off towards the town where they hoped I'd have an interview for a booking..........then getting the call to say the company had decided not to get a temp :( But, I got to have a nice chat with the agency woman, who is also a single mummy about our lovely children :)

    3. Had a call this afternoon offering me 3 weeks temping with one of the agencies in Oxford, the pay's pretty poor but it's better than nothing and then I'm thinking I might 'insist' that I take my final week off before the madness of Uni starts!

    4. Lovely friend G and her daughter came and helped me tackle the kitchen of doom! Tomorrow night we tackle DD's room of doom, which will make the kitchen look like heaven!

    5. Lovely friend A has texted me to say she'll be coming over a bit early tomorrow for a natter, when her removals chap comes to pick up the sofas. (We'll be sitting on camping chairs or dining chairs after that!)

    6. Estate agent called to say that everything is looking good for exchange next week........and buyers do want to buy my dishwasher, yay!

    7. I made delicious thai veggie curry for dinner for the 3 of us :) G had 4 helpings, lol!

    8. DD is having one last sleepover with her lovely chums.

    Morning,

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. As OH needed to drop car at garage opposite my work got a lift to work but meant I was there at 7 . think I scared the cleaners and security as I never appear at that time.
    2. Friend at work got a call to say her step father had just died (this is not a pleasure) but the pleasure is how everyone rallied around to cover the reception desk so she could go home straight away. Please send healing thoughts and prayers her way.
    3. Had to buy an unexpected meeting lunch for work from M&S and managed to rescue lots of yummy things that were not eaten. Now safely in my fridge for lunch today and it also fed me yesterday.
    4. Had a small charity fundrasier at work yesterday selling sauage and bacon rolls. We had the stuff in the freezer left over from a previous charity day so needed using and we raised £40 for Variety. Which will convert to £80 once work do matched funding :T
    5. OH was supposed to be out last night so had planned a dinner that I like and he doesnt but change of plan at last minute and he was home for dinner. I managed to adapt what I was having so that there was enough for both of us and that he would eat it. Very nice it was aswell but I missed the courgettes and mushrooms in it that I love but he hates.
    6. Listening to the rain, thunder and lightning dudring the night and feeling a slight cool breeze. Am start in the garden now in the morning cool which is very pleasant after a night of feeling rather warm (its my age).

Hugs to all who need them

tealady - doing so as I write[and read]. Until I pop in while passing, any directed thoughts or prayers in my mind usually have village Church for setting. It is a calm and ancient place of still quiet. It is never oppressive, but warm, with old wooden pews, brightly stitched pictorial kneelers. It is my nonsense? vanity? need? pleasure, to think a bit about which one feels right/appropriate before I sit.
    Accordingly, this alters.
About now, early sun should now be high enough above great old trees to flood through the main stained glass window, throwing colour down the main aisle.
This is where all my bumbling thoughts and more directed prayers, as for your friend now, make their home. It is a good place.

I zap courgettes and mushroom ensemble[often with garlic]as a little dish, also leek&mushroom which was R's invention. Would this work as a side portion for you or do they need to be mixed in with recipe?

    Hello.....no Saturday carbohydrates !

Groceries bought very reasonably with lots and lots of veggies!

Went to cinema with OH and girls , saw The Heat, which was hilarious and lots of laugh out loud moments but far too much swearing! Used my discounted vouchers....saving at least $30 on actual prices.

Took a bag of chopped carrot and baby tomatoes .....shining my halo!

Bought myself a pair of fake ug boots for a cheap price of $10 ...very comfy and my new slippers....old pair in a sorry state. Might not be very pretty but very comfy.

Dinner of stuffed mushrooms ....stuffed with bacon, onion , garlic saut!ed, mixed with cottage cheese and topped with Parmesan and then grilled. Served with salad and not many carbs!

My DD1 is home after being away at snow camp for 3 days ....nice to have her home :)

    Have a lovely Saturday :)

I see & could be wavering some white things at a group of wannabe hairy persons. I hope she has not locked one in her boot! No beard hug for you today. (Every one else, heres you go Grrrrrrrrrrrisly alls down yers spine)

See my super union has got tooo big now. Bring back the ETF. Had to vote for a LBGT what ever that was. As I never select wummins on boreds ofd companies, standard rules applied. Not PC and Proud!

5 Back home on the nest ...

4 Cat has found new sleepy holes all over the place, and they are in the shade. Now why does cat, when given a choice, eat tinned tomato.

3 O'Clocks are back for some. Now there is a lot of talk about some clubs being ducked points. mI am now glad that Grimsby did not enter this party called the Premiership in 2002, but instead eked an existence without going bust. Shame some other clubs, have not! Football fans are not holier than thou. Rugby starts in 14 days.

2 gether with Ms BoP, on the nest ...

1 Leave Bill at home and then the shops will not come after you.
