' have wandered around throwing things into piles to go into the car - a very random selection, but based on my previous forays into fields, it seems to be the odd things like cheese graters that go more quickly than the lovely books and clothes!? '...spot on kittikins - and don't set things up too prettily either.

    Nw3 duly waved to ampersand
Just had breakfast. £30 b&b per night in hampers was not expecting much. How wrong. Toast, waffles, cereals, eggs, cheese, tea, coffee, fruit juices and spreads. Now stuffed and ready for a day doing the monopoly board, something i always meant to do while here but never quite got round to. Still not sure about community chest - maybe centre point. The weather is much cooler might even take a jacket!
Oh and reverbed 50p on way out of refectory

But are you going to take a chance and pass Go, DD :p

And here's hoping you don't go to jail, though - is there an interesting one worth a visit? I saw a poster for Klink? Klinkers? Yesteday

Edit - just looked it up. The Clink prison museum, near London bridge station

Edit again. Not on the monopoly board, but don't forget Mornington Crescent! It's near euston.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Hello, sitting absolutely stuffed from dinner. Made slow cooked steak ( RTC) pie, roast spuds and parsnips (RTC) cauliflower, broccoli and carrots and sprouts . I do love my veggies !

Slept until 7 am which is a lie in for me.

OH and I went on a drive through the hills... Temperature dropped from 6o to 2 o as we got higher in the hills . The views were stunning. The sun was shining after a day of rain yesterday so everything was sparkling .

Stopped for brunch in Healsville , which is a lovely country town.

Then we stopped at a chocolate factory which was so busy but worth a look around.

On drive home I got the call I've been waiting for offering me the job. I start in 2 weeks so I will have 10 days break between jobs which suits fine and I'm looking forward to! More news as I get it!

Borrowed a DVD from library and watched it whilst ironing.

Made dinner , ate dinner and collapsed on sofa on front of MasterChef !

Have a lovely day and thank you for your good wishes, it's nice to be able to share my good news.... You've put up with my moans for months!!

I'm going to a food festival on Sunday and I know from previous years that there's usually a fantastic herb stall there - I intended to visit to get a new mint plant to replace my rather sorry-for-itself looking one, so I'll keep an eye for this as well.

Well, I got my mint plant, and a golden marjoram. And a Corsican mint, a Tabor thyme, a tricolor sage, and a lemon verbena. I think I got a bit carried away! :o

    mhags - that's great news! :T

Kittikins - hope everything's going OK.
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all.

    1) With apologies to anyone who's getting tired of flower photos, my favourite dahlia has its first flower of the year:

    4288667a-0819-46a1-95ec-a23b0f630d6d_zpsc9f5fe60.jpg

    2) Mooching around the food fair this morning before it got too busy, so there was time to try things and chat to the stallholders.

    3) Planted up my Corsican mint and have put it just outside the patio doors, so I keep getting wafts of mint scent. :) The other mint and the thyme have also been potted up, but the others will have to wait until I get some more pots. :o

    4) The blackbirds have been back for more baths - I've had to refill the 'bath' twice already today!

    5) Complained to my DF that there was no sport on except cricket and golf, both of which make me smiley-sleep010.gif, then found the IPC (disability sport) athletics world championships hidden away on one of C4's more obscure channels. :)

I hope everyone's enjoying the continued warmth. :) (Except mhags, of course - sorry. :o)
Back after a very long break!

    1. You lovely lot :)

    2. Despite forgetting to put any suntan lotion on, I'm only pink rather than lobster! Hoorah for sunshine!

    3. Only made £38 profit but at least it was profit.....took a couple of bags to the tip, recycled some books and kept a few things.

    4. Picked DD up from camp and she had a brilliant time and was very happy to see me, lots of cuddles and chat about the fab time she's had. I think its been a good weekend for us both :)

    5. The kind people at the car next to mine gave me a carton of juice once I'd finished my water as they could see I was on my own and couldn't leave to but more drink.

    6. Wonder of all wonders, my ex husband paid his maintenance this month without me having to remind him! Would have been even more of a miracle if he could see his way to increasing it even by £5! (A £15 increase in 8 years isn't much after all.....)

    7. A lovely friend popped over with her 2 youngest children for a natter, a cup of tea and the children had a brilliant time in the paddling pool :)

    8. All in all, a very nice weekend :)
