  • Pesting, Nesting and Jesting day.

1 Just had an ice lolly, sky rocket type. Yummy and sooooo cooling, but not too cool as I am still in Smug Bassardo Mode.

2 Yellow thing is out, and another Aussie is out. Yes, walk Aussie, WALK/ Apologies to MHAGS neighbores, but I explained to s Whack years back

3 Suddenly, it lloks like the Ashes are over. Think that England should bat and put them out of their misery (Oh no, another wobbleades and another Aussie walks!)

4 Golf is on as well. Bit of sexist talk about that. Well ladies, I also have a male Only room at the Ship, My private chambers.

5 Always look on the Bright side of life. Yep, days and days and days to do for one. Then we is out of SPARRA shire for good!

    Evening all.

ampersand - the golden majoram sounds interesting, thanks. I'm going to a food festival on Sunday and I know from previous years that there's usually a fantastic herb stall there - I intended to visit to get a new mint plant to replace my rather sorry-for-itself looking one, so I'll keep an eye for this as well.

    1) Watching Madame Merle scarfing dried mealworms this morning - she clearly knew I was watching her but decided my presence was less interesting and important than eating as many worms as possible before Monsieur Merle and the Merle-lets turned up. (I was going to say 'Merle-lings', but a merlin is something else entirely!)

    2) Until the last half hour, a very pleasant and quite day at work - I spent a chunk of the afternoon messing around on an opinion website, posting on everything from VWs (love), to Marmite (indifferent), to Boris Johnson (can't stand). (The last half hour, BTW, featured a student complaint - not directly about me, but close enough to send me into a minor panic. :o)

    3) It's the weekend. :D And I WILL NOT think about that complaint again until Monday. :naughty:

    4) Went shopping this evening. It would have been more OS to make do, of course, but I desperately needed fruit and veg after a week with no shopping and it's great to have stuff in the fridge and fruit bowl again.

    5) Veggie enchiladas for dinner tonight - all I'll have to do is put the bits together, stick them in the oven to warm through, and pour a glass of chilled white wine while they're doing so.
Back after a very long break!

Yesterday I struggled with pleasures as we visited dad in the evening, I'm glad we did it made him happy, even if it leaves me feeling a bit sad.

    For Today
After soul searching and much deliberating with finances, DH and I agreed I will take action about work, it feels like such a relief to have decided. I have not handed in my notice just yet but I will be soon, feels like such a weight off, the smiling and laughing has returned, we are both so much happier.:):)
I returned some tops I ordered online &
Put the money I would have spent into the holiday pot.:D
Just had a home made salad, and with food plannning have a lovely pork joint defrosting for Sunday.:)
A sparkly clean home, yikes, just need to put some clean bedding and towels out and blimey we are passable and not just for visitors.
Desert is on the menu, Blackberries / strawberries and some ice cream:):)

    Have a lovely weekend

    Today's pleasures -

    1. I have discovered Refresher ice lollies! :j

    2. Watching our small girl running in delight on a large expanse of grass in the sunshine.

    3. Seeing first hand the kindness of others to people they have never met, at the Foodbank. A sadly much needed service.

    4. A glass of cold water on a very hot day.

    5. Loving library books :)

    I think it's a little bit cooler!

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) Terrible sleep thanks to next doors AGAIN talking and playing music in the garden til after 1am. After our discussion following the loud 3am party last weekend, she said to Facebook her if she was making to much noise. I did this, but she didn't read it for 12 hours!

Anyway, got up 7ish to get sons off to school, did a few odd jobs then thought I'd have a lie down to listen to the Archers. Woke up just before midday feeling lots better.

    2) Physiotherapist phoned to see if smaller son is walking better now (he tends to walk in tiptoes). I said he can now walk better if he remembers so she wants to see him in September for a follow up.

    3) Another load of washing dried outside. To be honest, it is still out there waiting for me.

    4) Bigger son's last day of term. :-)

    5) Special fried rice for tea.

    6) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    7) Hours of table tennis!

    1. All your pleasures gave me pleasure as I caught up, esp. pk's work decision which mirrors mhags' and has to be all good. Also mhags, did that latest run of bullying stop? Hopefully new school will have no repetition of that.

    2. w8rs queue - lady saw my 3 things, said 'Go ahead of me' which I did, but she was struggling with arm in plaster to unload her trolley so I did that. She said how tiresome it was becoming 'but you wouldn't have much sympathy if you knew HOW I did it' 'In that case you HAVE to tell' said &. 'Well, I was doing underwater handstands with my grandson at the swimming pool....' & answered that this was a splendid way to do it. Nice lady's Star status is now 'very high' on grandson+friends scale. Didn't stop for free drink, wanted to hurry back under yellow thing. Had 2 'w8rs paid me's in form of 3 pks of baby corn, ditto cooked baby beetroot.

    3. 5 lots of butterflies dancing today, trios and couples.

    4. Not sure how, but another 1/2lb of black currants[inc a few whites] suddenly appeared, ripe, now in freezer. More readying.

    5. Unsmooth, non-meshing, hither and yon petrol day, but diverse and fiddly bits done. Still back in time for perfection of more yellow thing The Wireless, The 2nd Test[talk about Blakean pertinence over both days now:What immortal hand or eye / Could frame thy fearful symmetry? ] Where will these Ashes end up? apart from the back 5 in a few months. Golf. too. It's obvious that McIlroy needs a Lendl.

    6. Cheap toms now tomates provençales. That singular, gorgeous, slow-turning scent drifted out to weather that passed for recette's birthplace....my sort of Heaven on earth.

bop - I suspect that there's a Women Only room in The Ship aussi...'chamber' being the pertinent feature. Don't go in there. Rules won't be changed any time soon. Bristol-applicable also.

sparrer - You could help the Bedfords out with their housing application. Not sure what the local rent cap is there, new Regs having come into force country-wide this week, but they'll learn to manage. They only qualify for a 2-bed, until the children are quite a bit older. Have you actually given them notice yet? Here's a wave to Mr S:hello:it's all sounding v.g.

    more (((((()))))) to you,lfs.
