No frost this morning.....just thick fog!
No car this morning .....my lovely OH drove me to work and then I had to mix with the general public again on the way home....bus was late, just missed a train but another one came along almost immediately .....ahhhh thought I , that was excellent timing.....until ,over the tannoy came the announcement that someone had taken ill on the train in front and they were waiting for an ambulance so if we could just sit tight! So , emailed my mum and read a book for 25 minutes whilst I waited....anyway it was a minor inconvience compared to poor person getting taken to hospital.

Bought a bun at the bakers shop to make up for the minor inconvenience.

Bought some bananas and satsumas at the fruit shop at a decent price. It was recently bought over and new owners charge much cheaper prices than before and it's cleaner!

Took a small ( but a pleasure all the same;) ) satisfaction in my colleague ( who got the responsibility I wanted) having a rough day.....she complained she was having a tough day with the manager and then just before I left was complaining about something else! Tough cookies love!!!

The birds ( lorikeets) are roosting in a tree across the road but they are so bloomin' noisy in a good way, the whole tree will shimmer and shake whilst they settle down.

Mr blackbird was busy pootling about the driveway when I walked home. I do like my mr and mrs blackbird, a wee touch of home.

My lovely friend sending us sweets from home! All gone!

Have a lovely Tuesday , I need to get a washing on so it will dry overnight above floor heaters and think about making dinner.

Embarrassing Bodies Down Under we're filming in Melbourne last weekend when we were in the city.....I just wonder why people are prepared to show their bits and bobs on the telly and usually shout at the telly....go to your GP!!

Enjoying a snap of my three young lads larking around on holiday last year - happy lads, sunny day & a chin-up reminder that those smiles are why I work.:D
Despite the delightful sunshine, I'm in long sleeves - as Scouts coaxed me towards going for assistant with an evening at the archery range. Shooting left & right handed, I bruised both arms (nothing severe but they look a bit startling) - I do like Scouts!
I've found a weblink to a fundraising oppportunity that should take a friend's mind off her worries for a minute. If she goes for it, in a swimsuit, she should get fed & paid £45! Just thinking about her expression makes me grin.
A colleague has just remembered a promise to his intended & asked me if I'd like about 10 boxes of back issues of SFX. Since we all like a bit of fantasy in our household but can't justify the subs, hurrah! &,
I've found the Nostradamus recipe for cherry jam. *And* seen cherries in an Asian supermarket. Think I'll check the prices as one kilo of cherries makes a frighteningly small amount of (stupendous) jam. A treat to look forward to!

I've just had a beautiful volume of Burns' poetry and songs, with extensive notes, arrive in the post as an Amazon freebie.
I've wanted a good volume of Burns for donkey's years, and here it is, one published this year, I am thrilled.
It's not complete (no 'Silver Tassie' for example) but it is lovely.

    Good evening all !

    Digforvictory - nice post :)

There is only one BoP , Dr C ! We can't be unfaithful to him ;) However I think Mcculloch jnr is far better looking than Dr.C :p Plus I have had enough of men in white coats :rotfl:

Mhagster - hope the car gets fixed.

VJsmum- how did the spot of Procurement go??

    5 for today

    1. Red sky at 4.45 am (not Mr. Blue ;))

2.The Ork jackdaw came down for some biscuits . I think he has lost an eye though:(.

3.Work was tedious but got a compliment from a Practice Manager as I had sent her some info. which informs an investigation that she is leading on .

    4. A colleague has signed up to do the free course that I have just completed (thanks Mcculloch). She will finish it in record time as she is like that. Unlike me , I am a plodder .

    5.Quorn tacos for tea.

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    Evening all.

    1) The yellow thing has been out, in, out, in and is currently out again. :)

    2) Left work early as someone was coming from my letting agent to fix the boiler...

    3) Which is now done so I could have a very pleasant shower.

    4) Phoned a company which sent me the wrong items for the second month in a row and, this time, they've said I can keep the wrong items and they'll send me the right ones FOC. :T

    5) Tried on three pairs of shoes I bought in a sale and only one pair fits, and they're the cheapest ones. :money:

    6) Another British winner at Wimbledon and, as I left work early, I got to see the last few games. :j

    7) Got my BM on and making a super-quick loaf, so I've got some bread for a packed lunch tomorrow...

    8) As I'm off work and heading off for a day out with my DM, before we both meet up with my DF for a beer and a meal in the evening (the meal paid for with a voucher, of course, as my DM's also a good MSEr). :D

    9) Lastly, because it's not very OS - I don't have time (i.e. CBA :o) to cook dinner tonight, so I'll grab something at the pub when I go down for the quiz.

Have a good evening, all. :)
Back after a very long break!

Evening all - posting from yet another train from yet another part of the country.

    Chicken - see below
    McC - <<yum>>
Glad the yellow thing has appeared for many, I spent most of the day inside but at least the washing will be dried

    Yesterday's pleasures

    1. Procurement and contract session was fine - feedback seems to be good and they want some more sessions done.
    2. Got there with no hold ups and time for a wee and a drink before delivering session, which was in a beautifuly vaulted cellar that could have been a tapas bar!
    3. Got roped into an event from work talking to year 12s about their future university plans. Bless the little darling who wants to be an Architect AND a Civil Engineer, and to specialise in sustainable technology, environmentalism and sustainable living, help the lower incomes and provide award winning designs for affordable housing. Never lose those dreams matey, but best of British...
    4. got home with no traffic holdups even though I left at the worst possible time
    5. Watched long lost family. THis is about the only thing I watch, but I'm a sucker for a happy ending :o

    And today

    1. lovely sunny day
    2. Roofer has mended the hole in the roof where either a squirrel or a bird has broken in, moved tiles, ripped roofing felt and nested in the loft, the bliddy [STRIKE]bast[/STRIKE] thing
    3. Been to LIPA (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts), and had an hour to kill in Liverpool itself beforehand so took a walk to the river and the Albert Dock, looking over to where I used to work in Birkenhead. Regrettably not enough time to visit said workplace
    4. LIPA was fab. It's our first one of many such visits I feel, DD said it's not the wrong place for her but, of course, she deosn't yet know if it's the right one. What she does know is that she has to try to get on a course as she can't imagine doing anything else.
    5. An anticipatory pleasure in that OH will have garlicky prawns and spaghetti ready for when we get home.

    2 more sleeps till glasto!:j:j
I wanna be in the room where it happens
