  • Ooooh KK enough banana skins to make an ice rink round here.

Round two, Ms BoP pegged one short on Cribbage. Victory this weekend to BoP.

    Evening

Will see if my post works tonight as it didn't yesterday and there were pleasures
    1. Full nights sleep no waking at 4 o'clock as have been all week.
    2. Got up at 8 made myself a cup of green tea and went back to bed for an hour to read.
    3. Washing dried on line
    4. Cooked a RTC ham joint for lunches next week, now all sliced and in the fridge. Also just taken a loaf of granary bread out of bread maker. Whilst pottering in the kitchen made sure I got the ingredients out of the freezer to defrost for dinner tomorrow and tuesday, as want to get both cooked tomorrow.
    5. BoP cover your ears, bought myself some new underwear today. I am an difficult size to buy nice underwear for so was pleased to get something vaguely nice and not too expensive plus had a money off voucher.

Hugs to all who need them
  • Teagal me ears are muffed, though my eyes are not averted.

bop-switch it back on, instantest, s'il vous plaît. All Yellow Thing orders to be taken from Royal We of this Thread only.
Cribbage too! - another 'I Miss...' We'd play every night as sun rose over yard arm. Late and beloved R's birthday demain, shared with little Philip.

    1. Something nice slow-simmering. I like the French verb 'mijoter' for this. Almost ready.
    2. Cool and overcast all day until after 19h, but then placed chair at far end out back for Remains of The Day and a few more delicious pages of Ferdinand Mount.
    3. Some fair finds for Spits, quality vestments for self, latter just out to dry as we speak, also natty luminous jacket for friend's dog, sensible for night walkies.
    4. Frequent diving back to car to hear Rafa take that 8th French Open. Wonderful!
    Will catch up watch too.
    5. Low-key ancient surroundings today, the best of quiet lost village England and v.v.v.early Manor house with its small Church fully involved in fête. Bliss. More next week with our neighbouring twin strangeness of St Cyriac and St Julitta sharing same ground.

ccp- excellent no. 4 and well done on the bread. Also, Cambridge in dahlia season: there's an ancient rose-brick College wall just over the Backs, down Bridge Street. Their dahlia display is astonishing, Giant stalks belt skyward and then stay, full blooming for weeks in dazzling colours.

lfs re bread and pullit, my DM used to say that when we were children. It's a long time since I've heard it so thanks for the memory and smile :)
Belated happy birthday to Skint Junior
CCP happy to help you with the pizza experiment any time :D

    1. vac'd the whole house before breakfast
    2. shower then breakfast while listening to R4
    3. got car hand washed by the nice Eastern European chaps, £5 for outside and windows inside and out.
    4. while waiting for car popped into H'base. Fatal of course. 15% off everything day so bought some much needed gardening gloves, brackets for baskets, gravel, liquid fertiliser and a rose. Never come across this one before, 'Fellowship', very appropriate. It apparently loves sun, even more appropriate
    5. Sunday lunch out with friends as usual, chose from the 'under 700 cals' menu then blew it with a dish of sweet potato chips. And very nice they were too :p

Off up the little wooden hill to Bedfordshire (oh wait, I'm there already!) as an early start for my run, or rather crawl, down to Henley. Why anyone wants to drive on motorways for a living beats me...

    Sweet dreams :)

    I've recently decided that I *hate* to-do piles that never get done. I've got 200+ unread books, a pinterest full of recipes, etc, etc. So, with that in mind;

    1. Lying in the sun reading.
    2. Admiring tan!
    3. Playing one of those old Fighting Fantasy gamebooks. They're very satisfying if you do it properly.:)
    4. Homemade cheesecake!
    5. Experimenting with alternative ways of coating chicken.:D

Grand Welcomes to you Bartelmy. The Too Hard Box is a fully adequate replacement for the Teetering Tower of To Do . Give it a shove, then slam lid down on new contents. It self-empties ready for next time.

    Hello everybody

CCP - dahlias are my favourite flower too - I have planted a few in some tubs. Where we were walking yesterday has a "dahlia walk" - though it has sweet peas on one side and dahlias on the other. I love them - they are so old fashioned looking. I should also like to be added to the list of those who like your no. 4 :T
    Welcome Bartlemy
I looked back and saw that Chicken's last post talked about problems with internet and phone lines, hopefully it is just that.

    For today
    1. OH and DS went out [STRIKE]trainspotting[/STRIKE] er appreciating some industrial archeology, DD went to work so I had lots of time to myself
    2. Erected the new tent in the garden, pre Glastonbury. I've never ever put up a tent in my life before and i made a good job of it, if I do say so myself. it's big
    3. Was a bit earth mother-ish, made rhubarb and orange jam, carrot cake and a roasty chicken / chorizo thingy for tea, also did some knitting whilst
    4. Watching Erin Brokovich. Such a good film
    5. Whilst locking up the house before fetching DD I looked up to see 4 bright red old fashionedy planes flying over. it was Cosford air show today, so I'm guessing they were on their way there.
    6. Mad ethe most of late afternoon sun by going for a walk.

    Night night all
I wanna be in the room where it happens
