Evening
Chicken - So sorry to hear your news
Ampersand - Link to free yoghurt at Waitrose but be quick as only 1000 left. The yoghurt was very nice but I won't be paying the £1 something for a single yoghurt

Pleasures for today,
1. Got to leave work early as felt a bit yucky, hoping just tiredness
2. Slept for an hour when got in
3. Did a survey on line for £5 of vouchers plus have £3 due to one on the same product early in the week :money:
4. Finished a really good book on the kindle, was a bit gruesome but very readable. Also downloaded a book for DM today which is by one of my favourite authors as well so looking forward to reading that but it is another one that the books usually scare me silly but can't put down. The author is S J Bolton if anyone interested.
5. Threw together a tasty dinner of chicken, bacon and pepperoni with pasta in a bbq sauce from bits in the fridge.
Hugs to all who need them0 -

1. Teddy bears' picnic (in the guide hut rather than out as the rain has been incessant today!) was fabulous with the Rainbows
They were all amazed that I have a teddy that is even older than me!
2. The estate agent has sent over very poor draft particulars which is not a pleasure in the slightest, but I've made suggestions on email and haven't been remotely rude even though I almost want to find another company to earn the money by selling my beloved house already!
3. DD tucked me into bed with one of her teddies as I'm feeling pants, bless her xx
4. Have worked out a picking each other's kids up plan for Saturday's dance rehearsal for their show that works brilliantly for me, means I'll be able to go to a talk in the afternoon
5. Cuddles with DD
Hugs, love and prayers to you and your family Chicken xx0 -
Sorry to hear your sad news, Chicken.
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Its absolutely pouring with rain but, after the most recent building work, hardly any is coming down the chimney! It must still blow in sideway through the anti-bird wire on the chimney top but it isn't bucketing in, dripping down the brickwork anymore. This is about the point where it would start leaking in through the old window frames too. So glad I don't have to keep clearing everything off the window sills and putting towels down now.
2) Not a bad sleep.
3) Went swimming with my brother.
4) Had a good tidy up, cleaned the stairs, kitchen etc.
5) Took sons to the barbers. I'm sure they have hair twice as thick as the average child, she always comments on it.
6) My sister popped in.
7) Tasty tea, if a strange mixture. I occasionally do "special" fried rice so did a bowl of that (peppers, peas, sweetcorn etc) then also cooked a few chicken kievs.
8) Looking forward to Holby later on.0 -
Good evening all !
Thank you all for you kind words . It seems to bring up "stuff" for other people on this thread too .Not my intention to open old wounds .Apologies if it has
PK - ((hugs)) you can do "blue " , pink or whatever on here . Hope you are feeling more "chipper"?
5 for today
1. Work ok
2. Mr. T vouchers = pizza restaurant at some point
3. Bzzagent (tealady) racked some of the above points up;)
4. Simple tea - Jacket P's and quorn sausages
5 Terrier has her head resting on my lap top as I am typing . Daft dog.
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Lovefullshelves - it has been over 3 years since i lost my mum, sometimes I'm fine and other times it hits me like a brick wall all over again. I guess this is how it will be from now on. I dreamt of her the other night - it is always nice to see her
Like you I still 'see' him, normally out of the corner of my eye when I'm working!
But...there are still pleasures!
1. The kitchen smells of lemons due to baking an amish "lemon drop pie" (too hot to taste, will let you know if its yummy)
2. Filled 5 hanging baskets with knocked down plants, keep the OH happy as they're hung around his outdoor train set:)
3. HM crinkle cut chips for tea, why do they taste better with crinkles?!
4. Had a after dinner snooze and one of the cats, 'titty', came and sat on my head, so cute!
5. £land pregnancy test says a resounding NOT (at 46 you never know!), ah so it is the menopause thenWoohoo!!:T

1) The weather forecast for the weekend has improved somewhat, for which I am extremely grateful - one of the reasons I'm going to Reading is to visit a famous archaeological site nearby, and the thought of doing so in the torrential downpour that was originally predicted didn't particularly appeal!
2) Ordered my free porridge, but I don't know when I'll eat it as the weather is now clearly now far too warm to eat porridge for breakfast. <sarcasm>
3) A chilly, grey sort of day, which actually was a pleasure as the electricity at work kept flickering on and off and we would have cooked without air conditioning on a normal warm, sunny day.
4) And now I'm home the sun has come out, although it's still pretty chilly.
5) Making kedgeree for dinner tonight.
Hugs to all feeling unwell / down / fed up at the moment.Back after a very long break!0 -
Tealady: I am always interested in book / kindle recommendations thank you, and thank you for the yoghurt link as well.
Chicken: Thank you, I am far more positive than I was
1. I was rudely woken up at 4am this morning sitting bolt upright with searing pain through my leg, which gave me a temperature and nausea, about an hour later it settled and has left me feeling battered and I have little bit of bruising from where the pain was. Woke up to the alarm to go to work but was feeling to rough so ended up asleep all morning – yikes, but I do feel a lot better. Decided the human body is odd with the pain it can inflict on itself in the middle of the night for completely unknown reasons. A pleasure to make the right decision to rest but lost out on a day’s wage but nothing I can do about that. Ah well.
2. 2 loads of washing brings it completely up to date, shame I couldn’t line dry it in the drizzly weather.
3. Thankfully having gone shopping last night there is nice food about, thou to be fair I would survive as long as there is bread and cheese. :rotfl:
4. Plan to do little this evening hopefully anyrate time to check out movies on demand as feeling fragile.:)0 -
Ooooh, which site are you going to near Reading, CCP? Is it a/the Roman one I'm thinking of? Have a great time

3. DD has lent me some fab looking books to read quickly - she wants to return them to the library tomorrow! No pressure thengood job I'm planning on having yet another early night and will take them with me
4. We had a fab game of Yahtzee before dinner.
5. Freezer surprise supplemented with a tin of chickpeas for dindins, nomnomnom.
6. Leftover freezer surprise boxed up for my lunch tomorrow
7. Managed to find the YS section in my local MrT's, the pesky blighters have moved it since I was last there and it took some hunting! Not much there but posh baked beans for the price of value ones couldn't be left
8. Yummy graze box goodies through the post today, we love Wednesdays!0 -
