Evening all.
ampersand - hope you had a good day at Twickenham - I see your team won. :j
madmary - welcome to the thread.
I've had a shamefully lazy today today, having been unable to summon up the energy or enthusiasm to do... anything, really.
1) Slept badly again last night but had a lie-in to make up for it.
2) NSD.
3) Not very OS of me, but I put the heating back on today - I really detest being cold.
4) Got another helpful vote for one of my online reviews: I don't know why it matters to me, but I do love seeing them on my account.
5) Lots of LO pizza so I don't have to cook dinner tonight.
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
CCP Detox. Pint of water before breakfast. That is the stuff of life. Other gals can try it.
Welcome MadMary.
DD. It's same time, next season. Ready for the rock and roll? (bu99er)
Had great day, fishcakes mushy peas and scallop tates. Washed down with lumpy custard and SPOTTED !!!!!!
Just live the custard when it gets that skin on it!

Kittikins - Happy Birthday for yesterday:bdaycake:
Ampersand - Hope you had a good day at twickenham
Pleasures for the weekend,
1. Food shopping all done for the week and came in £9 under budget which was added to the family treat pot.
2. DD had been working hard all week to complete an assignment for college and was struggling so took her to Wimpy for lunch, not very expensive and she was very happy
3. Helped DD with the assignment in afternoon, she dictated and I typed for her. I also sorted out some issues with her computer for her whilst she was researching what she wanted me to type. I was a wonderful mummy so she said.
4. Easy dinner as just DD and myself - Ribs for DD and spicy chicken for me just bunged in the oven. OH was out at the beer festival.
5. Lazy morning today, read book and drank tea
6. Once got myself in gear roasted a chicken and stripped it down ready for packed lunches. Baked a batch of breakfast muffins whilst oven was on. Also made a chicken casserole topped with potato cobbler. DD ate 2 lots of dinner, was told can make it again.
7. Used some milk up making a cheats pudding of chocolate instant whip, I know not very OS but was all eaten.
8. Today was a NSD
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Pleasures for yesterday and today.
Yesterday
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Took my bed apart and it is now on the bonfire at mum and dad's. (There is always a bonfire in progress).
3) Saw brother in law briefly.
4) Bigger son went out for the afternoon with MrN, son5 and 4 (I think) of their school friends. I don't know where MrN went but all the 12 year olds went shopping!
5) Smaller son and I popped to Sainsburys.
6) The fish and chip travelling shop parks on the village hall car park on Saturdays so we went over there to get our tea.
7) Casualty.
Today
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Had a bit of a tidy up.
3) Made a loaf of bread then we had a mountain of tuna sandwiches for lunch (with peppers and avocado) and managed to eat the whole loaf between us!
4) Went swimming with my brother in the afternoon.
5) Had a chat with MrN (mainly about motorbikes, have been waiting nearly a week for a child free moment to tell him about smaller son's Aspergers diagnosis!)
6) Texts from my sister.
7) Had the tea made for me! Bigger son made potato wedges (in smoked paprika, very tasty) and some dip and smaller son made a tray of fairy cakes. :-)0 -
My collection:
1. Replacement for broken walking stick, with 2 new handles, 1 ergonomic has arrived. So I now have a very smart stick again and the ergonomic handle makes life easier too.
2. Used remaining half of pack of hair dye (as does Sparrer) and it was very successful. A hair job for 50p, as it was a Wilko/£land dye.
3. Friend popped round and brought me a bottle of shampoo that she had been given but didn't get on with. I don't really need it but it was a kind gesture.
4. Some free samples in post and more on the way. Love freebies and all will be used.
5. Angrove Rumbaba has a new niece and Angrove Fatrascal a new half sister.
Angrove Mumsbuns (think this is to be the name) sired by Angrove Spotted !!!!!!, (second mention of spotted !!!!!! today) dam is Star Promise, by Mujahid. 'Mumsbuns' comes from the fact that she was born on what would have been the breeder's Mum's 90th birthday.
6. Angrove Rumbaba's jockey Becky had a win over hurdles in the ladies' hurdle race at Wetherby. 13 lengths, absolutely hosed home and all down to great riding tactics by Becky, let the others blaze off, held her mare up, then pounced. Not for the usual trainer, which is good as it gets her more well known.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Will catch up on all the posts in due time, hugs to all, happy birthdays/anniversaries etc
1. The understanding and caring of friends, some who don't even 'know' me. Just goes to show that not everyone is bad, but how many good and thoughtful people there are in the real and cyber worlds.
2. The kindness of the vet who said to bring back all the special food, insulin etc and he'd reimburse me. I won't take anything for it as he was so good (and inexpensive), but what a generous offer
3. Found an appropriate shrub rose, Little White Pet, which is on its way
4. Postie brought me a mini torch, four sachets of moisturiser, a paperback and a beautiful blue scarf with white knitted roses all over it
5. Spent yesterday with family and friends, today am planting some bedding which has been sitting on the kitchen table since Thursday  and maybe the lawn if it stays dry
Have a good Monday0 -
sparrer your vet sounds a lovely kind man and the rose sounds a perfect way to always remember . Take care x
Well HURRAH! Holby is finally caught up all 2.5 years worth!!! .....until I see this weeks episode of courseI can now go back to normal things like reading books and blogs instead of watching a bloomin' fictitious medical drama!!
Work was quite okay today , went by quickly enough.
Popped into supermarket on way home and they had a big basket of rtc fruit and veg ....fill a bag for $3. So in my bag I managed to squeeeeeze a leek, potatoes, a turnip, parsnips, a garlic clove, an aubergine and half a red cabbage!! More than pleased with my haul! Parsnips will be parboiled and frozen , had some spuds and 1/4 cabbage with dinner and the rest will become soup!! Not sure about aubergine....have never bought one before!
Nice tea of mince and tatties with sprouts (yum, I love sprouts....up there with parsnips on my fave veg!) , red cabbage and carrots. Very filling and cheap
It's nice to be eating autumnal fruit and veg ....nice crisp apples, plums and satsumas in season just now and root veggies ....and sprouts!
DD1 paying me half of money for chest of drawers we struggled home with last week!
Speaking to my friend from home this morning , it was her daughters birthday yesterday so catching up on her day. It's times like this I miss being home. However , I did speak to the birthday girl last night to wish her a happy birthday. She gets very confused about my time zone!! So when I told her it was autumn here she asked but is it still called April?
That's me, 'tis bedtime here!! Night0 -
1.ironing done
2. garden still growing, slowly
3. ds washed up0
