    1. About to turn putah screen round and watch one of my catch-ups. Broomstick, guess which? :-)

    2. A big work - moved a lot of oak joists[about 30 10'>15' 4x4s] in order to heave trailer out to car and rearranged palleted Keep Dry things, black plastic, old beams on top. Roll on ma dependance!

    3. Out to timber man whose acquaintance I much enjoy[and he returned, with due reverence and flattering reluctance, Rapin's History of England]. Did big loading of 3 heavy trellises[wider than car, much wider than trailer]AND glorious stonking oak beam with big hand-forged lump of metal hammered in. Interesting times. Red tinsel tied on for warning. Trellises scissored shut a bit, which helped. Carefully plotted meander back through country lanes of stealth - no Plods please - lightboard unworking, overloaded, 'Helpless Woman' demeanour on board, in case... Back unhindered, unloaded steadily, logically. Dragged pieces onto rigged up base clear of ground. Fought with fierce wind-another battle of black plastic. All good timbers put to bed. V. satisfying and still a little amazed I've done it alone to plan which has worked.

4.Used Blummin Heston thingies as toads in holes. Quaite Naice, but not worth paying more than 10p for. W8roseland - cheaper than the £shop!?

    5. 'Just William' just now.

:D Hope you enjoy it Ampersand- good escapist/creative stuff.

    My pleasures for Sunday:

    1. Ampersand - thanks to you for the heads up about the Mark Tully programme. Very rich in food for thought. I'm going to listen to it again - it really resonated with the decluttering and letting go of past life that I'm doing atm.

    2. Loads more paperwork gone through. It's starting to look as if my sorting is starting to make space now.

    3. Went for a walk to get some milk from the shops and hung over the bridge and watched the swollen river. Haven't made time to do that for a bit.

    4. The high five with DS1 when he came home this evening. :D He finished his weekend job today and now will get his weekends back. His new work starts in a week or so's time - more of it and better paid.

    5. Still enjoying having the Christmas Tree twinkling beside my desk but I'm also looking forward to taking it down tomorrow night because it will give me access to our stationery cupboard and the under the stairs space again. :) Christmas for us always lasts from Solstice night to New Year's Eve. The 'ten days of Christmas' seems to suit us very well. :)

    Sweet dreams

Does Mark Tully still do Something Understood? I used to like that, years ago.

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) Lie in.

    2) Went to Sainsburys. Stocked up now inc for tomorrow...

    3) Had tea at mum and dad's.

    4) Sons back from their father's.

    5) Smaller son did plenty of his reading homework.

    6) Tidy continues for tomorrow's visitors (morning) then tomorrow night's party.

    7) Watching TV now in front of the stove and might listen to the Archers Omnibus later in bed.

    1. DD slept til gone 10am and then came straight into my room for our usual cuddles and silliness :)

    2. I'm back home and getting used to it........DD's not as whilst she's very nearly fully better, we all agreed that a couple more restful days up at my parents would help fully recharge those batteries. So not wholly a pleasure, but kind of.

    3. Useful trip to Co$tco on the way home, I was really good and only bought things I really need or will in the next month.

    4. 2 out of 3 things I ordered using vouchers whilst away have been delivered, oddly enough not the card game I ordered from China, lol.....apparently might be delivered by the time its needed at the end of January, fingers crossed! So DD's birthday is now sorted!

    5. Found the last mince pie and didn't have to share :)

    6. Interesting drive through central London as I fancied a change of route back, Knightsbridge wasn't as chokka as I would have expected, and the lights were lovely :)

    1. washed off all the gunge I left on my hair overnight, it's so soft it's impossible to do anything with now! Feels lovely though
    2. Met with friends at lunchtime, celebrated one's 30th
    3. Bought a huge tub of emulsion to start covering the bedroom walls as SiL says it will need at least four coats before I can put on the top coat. Got 20% off and triple nectar points in their weekend sale
    4. Found and reserved a white valance sheet which I'll collect tomorrow. It will just cost £3.99 at I have a voucher for the store
    5. Watched the final episode of Wild at Heart and cried. How pathetic! But I did enjoy it ;)
    6. Prep for tomorrows supper, there will only be three of us but they're super company and we'll thoroughly enjoy ourselves

DD re speach. basically that anyone in work will be better off than anyone not in work. Good. About time too. There are too many using our state benefits for their own good without contributing to society and there have been for many years. One good thing about the downturn in the economy. the money isnt there so scroungers and lazy loafers cant be continuallly rewarded any more whilst hard working people are taxed to the hilt to pay for them.

    4. DS1 did the hoovering
    5. DH is at work but will be home early today.
