Another one who lost a long post on Friday....it was a very positive post as I'd had a lovely day....anyway, here are some pleasures from past 4 days:
1. Bought a nice pine dresser from charity shop, have been keeping an eye on it as I drove to and from work, went in, had decided a maximum price and it was $30 less than that......thought it would go in car up it wouldn't fit, so the very nice man from Salvos walked to our house....backwards with the dresser on a trolley! I've filled it with lovely red and white polka dot china.
2. I had a $20 department store voucher from loyalty points and went to get a specific thing, it had 30% off and then Christmas decorations had 25% off. I wanted to get a tree decoration for my great niece.so quite pleased with my haul!
3. Sun was shining yesterday, so got lots of washing dried and beds stripped....but that awful feeling when you go to bed and realize you still have to remake it!
4. Went into city and caught up with OHs UK colleague who is over here just now....so we had dinner on expenses which was nice. Nice to get dressed up.
5.having time to read one of my cheap books from library sale.
6. DD2 had audition for next years school production so fingers crossed for her.
7. Getting an email from a very dear technophobic friend, she has bought an iPad . A nice start to my day today.
8.we had a lovely salad for dinner last night followed by my first ever pear upside down cake, which looked and tasted quite beautiful and then a lovely macaroni cheese for tea tonight with a portion left over for my lunch tomorrow .
Have a lovely day....bedtime here!0 -
4. AB's beat Scotland[sorry, dd]but the Saltire waved high and proud - first and last try to you and a 3-try total against us, unknown since times prelapsarian.
shall probs watch the Engerland highlights on iplayer tonight. DD2 had a totally fab time. She said the atmosphere was fantastic (she's only been to footie matches) and has asked her Scottish bf to buy her a Scottish top for xmas
Thanks for advice on banning xoh's bf from phoning house phone. It was reassuring to know I wasn't being unreasonable to make the request. Things frosty this morning, but will defo have 5 good things to report tonight. I so lerv this thread, you're absolute life-savers (as well as penny savers lol)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

At work, so put decoration on other breast. Only one noted.
5 Two tellies in the crew room. One showing BBC Snooze twenty bore, other showing Sky Screws. Head to head. At brake, someone got hold of the remote, or sorry snuck one in and switched the bu99ers off. Aftnun brake, tvs still off. Good. Now shud they go twelve rounds under the Queensbury Rules.
4 Some other buffers, suggest that the telly should now show the cartoon network and old films.
3 I see some football man has cleansed their lie de pedia entry cleansed. What is the use of cleansing?
2 Last pleasure of the day, snoggggggggggggled up to Ms Sonny, with cat in the de-militarised zone, staging a protest.
1 First to return after the silence.
Hugs to those aving problems. And of cos, Jenny sends her :heartpulsI hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

Evening all.
Skint - thanks for reminding me - someone dumped an old shovel outside my block of flats the other day - I must check if it's still there tomorrow and, if so, re-home it for communal use in case of snow this winter. :snow_grin
cornishchick - welcome to the thread! Come on in and join the friendly waffling.
lobbyludd - mmm, gingerbread!
sparrer - I'm sorry you got such a scare, but very glad you're OK.
1) Wore my new poppy earrings to work, where they garnered several admiring comments and quite a bit of laughter - they're rather longer and more dangly than I usually wear and, every time I moved my head, they smacked me round the face.
2) A meeting I really wasn't looking forward to went better than I expected - it's a nice group of people and we laughed a lot.
3) Went to buy a birthday card for my grandmother and ended up getting it free, as the assistant had a full loyalty card that had to be exchanged for a birthday card "to make the till balance". I don't understand that, but I'm not complaining!
4) Made a batch of savoury mince and veg pies for dinner / packed lunches, on each of which I have, as per 5OSP thread rules, written 'yum' with a sharp knife.
5) Cuddles with an exceptionally purry mog, although it has made typing this post rather tricky!
Have a good evening, all, and hugs to Skint, DD, and anyone else who wants / needs one.Back after a very long break!0 -
Lovely thread
My OS pleasures today - day to myself, baking and chilling in the kitchen.
Also spending time with our 6 month old kittens, Eric and Ernie, them watching every move I make whilst they were dozing in the ironing basket (grrr) they looked so sweet, I didn,t have the heart to move them.
Have a fab evening all xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
£300/£1300 -
1) Left over home-made meatballs for lunch with rice, veg and a particularly nice apple.
2) Offered DD's single pine bed around at work, as it is still in good condition, and got offered a new mattress for our bed. Getting it into DH's car will be difficult but we're going to try.
3) Made a batch of mince pies when I came home and have frozen them for Christmas. Had to test one, of course.
4) Decluttered an orchid to our next-door-but-two-neighbour. I used to be with them in the Gardening Club and their house is full of plants so it will not be as lonely as it was when it was sitting on my landing windowsill. It was very well received and it was nice to give something back after all the tomatoes they brought round this summer.
5) Looking forward to an episode of Make do and Mend on 4OD after I have been on the Hoarding thread here. Must try to introduce some variety in my life!
That's all folks! Have a nice evening.0
