    Again...a post I left[and saw] disappeared again.
It was only to vjm, regretting that these are no longer available:

Usual multiple inner turmoils over this day on many levels...must head into sun[as I stood facing at The Hour], come back in time for All Blacks, then out again probably.

  • Just back in from the parade and lunch. Was bit disappointed with the plastic poppies slung on every emporium building, especially those that sell evil. Made me think. A medal is a decoration. The Poppy is SOLEMN. It is not a commercial atonement tool it is in danger of becoming today.

5 Couple of wobbleades, for tasting purposes only. Thanks be to the current Mrs Sonny. Home to home made Spotted !!!!!!, thick custard and Smoked Haddock kedgeree.

4 Just flicked through while listening to the record player, to see the ritual booting out at the BBC. Getting rite excited about the next issue of Private Eye. Should be enlightened Redaing. Just thinking as well, Chris Patten, last Governor of Hong Kong, Last Governor of the BBC! Sales of the Graunaid will suffer though.

3 This is not just a fad with TILAMS, far from it. Innocence of youth, CIN in 1981 was well supported. In 1982, it was different. They advertised free through their moanopoly their money extraction charity throughout the poppy appeal and have done so ever since. All other had to do more work, then and ever since. When I was younger, other charites stopped their collecting for the appeal period. Today we have

    3. An ok dinner various rtc's from the freezer of course.
    4. I feel more with it a little guilty as I've taken it easy all weekend.

    Evening all.

    1) NSD and NPD.

    2) A lovely sunny day, and warm enough that I could leave the door open for a couple of hours.

    3) Chatting on the phone to my DPs and finalising the details for my visit to them at the end of the week. :j

    4) Did some tidying up in the garden and found a couple more HG tomatoes which I missed when stripping the plants a few weeks ago. They've now been added to the collection slowly ripening in the living room.

    5) Made a veggie moussaka for dinner with some of the tomatoes which had ripened.

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

5 for today (Sunday) so far.

    1) Feeling slightly better.

    2) Not a bad sleep.

    3) House reasonably tidy.

    4) Smaller son did the very last worksheet in worksheet mountain set by his previous school. (and it's rather nice to put "previous" before "school"!)

    5) Bigger son realised that attacking the new windows with a screwdriver yesterday was not a good move. He spent about an hour trying to polish out the scratches in the glass with toothpaste (we read it on the internet and will see how well it worked when the sun is full on the glass again tomorrow).

    6) Helped bigger son with his science homework. I'm not used to doing homework where what you have to write has to include various objectives (?) from different levels. :-/ It does make your writing very stilted. I don't have any science A levels so a copy of the printed out homework is with my dad . (The only person I have ever met whose A levels include Botany and Zoology!)

    7) Went swimming this afternoon with sons and my brother. Swam 500metres as well as larking about.

    8) Pie for tea. Just chunks of yesterday's roast chicken with some brocolli and chicken soup topped with puff pastry. And homemade bread made this morning.

    9) Looking forward to I'm a Celebrity later! Not exactly high brow but I like sitting in front of the stove watching it in the evenings.

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,

    1. Seeing the huge turn out at our local rememberance day parade. I live in quite a small town but the turn out is always good. DD marched with the rainbows and was a pleasure to see how well behaved they were. All very touching and thought provoking.
    2. Late breakfast after the parade with DD in a local cafe. Saw lots of people we know so all very pleasant.
    3. Picked up a few RTC items in the Co-op which will use for dinner this week.
    4. Yummy dinner of slow cooked beef brisket followed by chocolate fudge cake
    5. Quiet evening with the family watching Casino Royal, mmmm Daniel Craig.

Hugs to all who need them

    1. Feeling slightly more human today, hoorah!

    2. Was very proud that DD was in the village Remembrance Day procession for the first time. It was a very good service.

    3. Spent far too much money in the supermarket afterwards, I think I was feeling a bit low and wanted comfort that only a bag of honey roasted parsnips could give. But DD and I have had a very swanky dinner of said parsnips, yet more recycling of leftovers, roast potatoes, lots more vegetables and oooh so posh and delicious fruit juices. Still a darned sight cheaper than taking us out for a meal which is what I know I really wanted to do.

    4. Watched some Fred Astaire films this afternoon, love love love them :)

    5. Snuggling up on the sofa to watch the strangely sexy Guy on How Britain Worked on 4OD, have 2 episodes to watch, lucky me!
