Starting to get a bit worried about a health issue, so back to the doctor if they have appointments this century, they should have the results back of a test that took 6 weeks.
1.Both DH and I have a bit of arthritis in the ankles, and have laminate flooring great for cleaning but cold in winter, so remembered to dig out the nice clean deep pile rug to have underfoot when we are on the sofa.
2.Wonderful roast pork, crackling (best bit), apple sauce, roast pots, parsnips, and enough leftover to feed us through tomorrow.
3. Another hour or so done in the garden, 2 more bags for the tip run.
4. Jut whipped up a little batch of cupcakes.:p
5.Going to pick up our Ebay win tomorrow, is it daft to be looking forward to 6 drawers of space to fill up with RTC goodies hopefully:rotfl:0 -
Evening all x
OT welcome back
Mine for today
1. Bit of a lie in until 9am
2. Phone call from prospective employer who interviewed me last week to let me know that I am in the pool of employees being considered for the job... then he said he is waiting for others to come back to him re what hours they want and he seemed doubtful that he would be able to offer me any hours to fit around my existing part time job
He did say I was the first interviewee on the day and I still stood out by the end of the day. As it wasnt a definite job offer I still havent mentioned my disability (although I did declare it on their equal ops section on application form) If they offer me the job I will mention it then, along with access to work and reasonable adjustments
3. lunch of leftovers made into bubble & squeak with fried egg nom nom
4. waited in all day for a parcel which was supposed to be redelivered and never arrived
I managed to find an 0800 number on the saynoto0870 website and rang Roya1Mail at 5.55pm (delivery was up to 6pm and customer services closes at 6pm !) .... I actually managed to get through to a real person before they closed and at least I didnt have to pay for the call.
5. Spoke to a lady who promised to rearrange delivery to my local post office & she is sending me £3 free stamps as compensation ..... is my day only worth £3(better than nothing I suppose, fingers crossed they havent lost the parcel)
6. Drove DS to martial arts, managed to find a parking spot outside local co-op on way back, which is a bit of a miracle, and got some ys and offers to keep us going until I can get to @ldi on thursday
7. faggots for dinner when DS gets back.....0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗
House sale OCT 2022 = NOW MORTGAGE FREE 🤗
House purchase completed FEB 2023 🥳🍾 Left work. 🤗
Retired at 55 & now living off the equity £10k a year (until pensions start at 60 & 67).

Evening all.
1) Porridge with HM plum and ginger jam for breakfast. I was a bit disappointed with this batch of jam as it didn't set as much as I would have liked, but it's the perfect consistency for spooning over porridge so I'm rather happier with it now.
2) Drove to work today - a real pleasure as it's been a mucky old day and waiting around for buses would have been pretty miserable.
3) Went up to town to get some more dressings for my foot and found B00ts only had their own brand, which was considerably more expensive than the branded version I've been using. (No, I can't work that out either!) I then had a chat to the lady on the counter who recommended something similar but different, and less than half the price of the own brand stuff on the shelf. :money:
4) NSD apart from the £1 something spent on the above. :money:
5) A nice noodle dish for dinner, using some of the uber-cheap Thai curry paste I bought from AF some months ago - it's fantastic stuff and I'm going to be quite sad when I use the last of it.
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Hello ot we missed ya
ampersand bought a scrummy scicillian lemon pud in l!dl italian night for me

sonny hope neighbour's cat turns up. One of mine is pawing my arm and purring very loudly. Maybe her food bowl is empty!
Welcome newbies. The nights aredawing in but lots to be thankful for
1) good day at work - good meetings then loadsa marking. OH in edinburgh so decided to stay late and make inroads into the dreaded pile
2) mum came round for lunch. She's given me a ticket for l'elesir d'amour saturday live from the met with champagne reception before. Woo hoo. It'll be #5 out of my 50 before i'm 50
3) cooked enough rice at lunch time for her and me and me again tonight so only had to heat up my stew and rice when i got in
4) remembered to take in box of cereal to work so had a bowl at 6 instead of spending a squid at the sweetie box

Don't tell me - it was the "boring" bit that gave it away :rotfl:
Like the idea of 50 before you are 50. It is looming for me, too so I may borrow that.
MORE new people - helloooooo
Chicken - in that case you have to do the "dexy's" thing. A pair of dungarees and nothing else (him, not you.)
Frith - you seem happier
1. DD got an A* in Law test - made up for the D in french she got on Friday and the fact that she hasn't got a principal part in the school production (tho being new we didn't expect it. ) Fingers crossed for the chorus
2. Painters might be finished tomorrow :T
3. Made loadsa fish pie - 4 portions for the freezer. Rather fills the gap I made taking out the fish, however
4. Lunch with friend.
5. [STRIKE]MIL went home[/STRIKE] erm having the house (almost) to myself for the day (if you don't count the painter)
Edit - PK hope you are OK
CCP - ooh plum and ginger jam sounds nice. I have both and will try to make it this week.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Loads of new Hello's needed, so I'm using the microphone and doing a 'Testing...TESTING...' to make sure you can all hear. 'H-E-L-L-O-OH! AND WELCOME'.
CCP - foot in boot okay today?
pk- at least you are reacting quickly and correctly. Hope appt reassures you.
Frith - we're all noticing. Your bounce-back marks equal vj's daughter's Law result. This is very very good indeed.
vj- oh, the agony of school production auditions and the known unfairness of being right for part, doing a storming read, but being Not Chosen for all sorts of school politics reasons...often for being TOO good. But I'll have to come along and sort out that français, with kittikins on other side. No escape. It's such a pity if a child doesn't get a light-the-blue-touch-paper teacher at the start of a subject.
1. DD, we're in Mediterranean tune sortakinda. I've eaten a Mr T Finest[reduced, of course]defrosted Tarte au Citron early evening, after h/m soup from roast chicken ce soir. Both v.g. Montalbano, vigilant gourmand that he is, would not deign to touch our idea of treats:-)
2. Big dentals done. New tooth in place, although it took 3 numbs and big heaves to remove the temporary cap. Only slight subsequent twinges, so all is well.
3. Gym restart demain @ 11h. It'll be supervised prog. intro with R, after which I can resume sparrow's start of 0645h when gym opens, so that day is still mine.
4. Strange and somewhat concerning calls with shipping agent. Have downloaded the previously unsent form and must, apparently, do Customs letter about why 13 cubic metres of stuff is coming here after only 3 months' 'holiday'. Customs require 'at least 6 months' before classing property as 'household removal and effects'. Less than this they consider suspiciously too long for holiday, too short for emigration. Tracked the ship, still on the high seas, but will have 2-3 weeks after docking[maybe demain]before Agent will tell me all has arrived from Southampton for collection. Trip to Park Royal follows. I next tried pinning them down on many mentions of 'invoice' and 'charges' various...there shouldn't be any. Without my signature to this sweeping free-for-all small print, nothing goes ahead, although female said 'we just have to put that in case. In case Customs open your boxes because they think you've imported a whole lot of new goods without paying import duty', at which point I told her firmly that chance would be a fine thing and Customs would recoil from my mish-mash at first sight. I'll feel easier when it's all here, although where it's going to go is another interesting conundrum.
5. Back from Dentist, gazing out kitchen window and there was new B-i-i-i-g Bunny, black with ginger dapples, visiting from next door. Went out quickly as he was interested in toxic rhubarb leaves in their new bed. T came over and we encouraged him to retrace route and indicate where fix-its were needed.
6. From comments in beloved Grauniad, it appears I'm not the only one delighted to see that Bill Nighy has received the Nobel Prize...for Medicine:

Seems MrB has already re-advertised himself on Guardian Soulmates!
Don't know what to think of that, really.
Here he is. https://soulmates.guardian.co.uk/profile/4e03b1fc4b245c40cb0b16ec
The weird thing is that his profile is absolutely identical to the one he was using when he met me. So he obviously didn't cancel his subscription or wipe it off (like I did) - it was always there just in case. Blimey. :-(0 -
Well Frith,
Whether or not the 'bare' is a typo-...I think it's worse if it isn't, if you follow me.

Ampersand - I wish you all would! From memory, you have to pay to actually be able to contact someone.
You could all ask him when he split up with his ex girlfriend... Ooooo - 8 days ago!
I've been thinking about his ex (before me) and that he said he left her in April and went online dating in July, meeting me almost immediately.
Yet he went out with her "for a catch up" AFTER our first date. I bet he chucked her that evening to make space for me!
I've got his stuff here - underwear, a work shirt, a t shirt and 2 pairs of shorts. The general consenus between my friends is that I should burn it. :-/ I had thought of posting it but I don't think I can be bothered now!0 -
