    Morning

Skint - Hope you are feeling better today.

    Pleasures for the weekend;
    1. Pancakes for brunch on Saturday with sausage, bacon, pepperoni and chirizio cooked into them, yummy and DD's favourite.
    2. Decided to go to London for a few hours as OH was looking for a coat. Nice walk around London and through Hyde Park back to the tube station. DD is always amazed when we can walk around without looking at a map.
    3. Naughty Pizza for dinner on Saturday but had a 50% off code so stocked up on sides to use in lunches through the week as well as yummy pizza
    4. Stuck to shopping more or less but did buy some Salmon and Duck Breast that were reduced to clear.
    5. Finished another blanket so No.3 now finished just another 2 to go but someone else is also hinting at me making them one.
    6. Organised in the kitchen yesterday - Roast chicken dinner with enough chicken left to make a chicken chow mein, carcass cooked overnight in the slow cooker to make stock (shamefully I never normally do this), sausage rolls cooked for packed lunches, Cottage pie made for tonights dinner and choc and hazelnut muffins made for the cake box. Plus a loaf of bread in the bread maker.

Hugs to all who need them

Hello, nearly bedtime here for me.

    1. Day off work. OH had investigations under anesthetic today so I wanted to take him/ collect him/ find out what was happening. Nice not to go out early schmearly but still woke up at usual time. DD1 was delighted I was there to plait her hair.

    2. Industrious day.....gutted girls bedrooms! Much washing done , much rubbish thrown out, much carpet now visible again! Felt I had achieved the impossible!

    3. Collected OH, Early results were good. we were worried it may have been more serious. We had a laugh on the way home discussing a nurse wo kept putting her foot in it this morning!

    4. Washing all dried, washing all ironed.....watched 2 episodes of Downton whilst I ironed ....love Downton

5.marks and spencer parcel arrived ....having been sniffed out by customs dogs first.....not sure what they smelled but nothing exciting.

Off to bed with a good book....back to work in the morning.

Welcome to the newbies :) Good to see you.

Wow, it has felt like a long day here. My feet are feeling the effects of rather a busy day at work, and they're thankfully toe-wiggling now with comfy slippers on. Anyway, I'm rambling, so here are my pleasures:

    1. The sofa equivalent of a duvet day yesterday. Both of us needed a break and it felt great to take time out.
    2. Managed not to spend overly much when I went into town. Tomorrow, the aim is to not spend at all. Fingers crossed.
    3. Watched the World Superbikes yesterday. Amazingly close end of season battle between Max Biaggi and Tom Sykes. Edge of seat stuff!
    4. We were given a box of Scottish Shortbread. Yum!
    5. Have come up with a good idea for a homemade present. I just need to work out how to make a shoe box into a lego brick!

    Have a lovely evening, everyone.

    KB xx

Well, I've had a splendid day so far!

    1) Woke up before the alarm (!)

    2) Sister here 7.30am to drop some stuff off she had cleared out of her house.

    3) Both boys finished their last bits of homework BEFORE SCHOOL. That is a first that we have attempted any homework in the morning.

    4) Both to school reasonably happily.

    5) Builder came round to give me a quote to stop the chimney leaking. To replace the lead flashing will be £200. I never know whether builders will say £50, £500 or £5000! So I will wait for the other man on Wednesday and see if he thinks it is the same problem and what his quote is like.

    6) Went to Gloucs to pick up bigger son's birthday present off Ebay.

    7) Stopped in Cheltenham on the way home. I had never been there before. What I couldn't find was a nice cafe. There were very upmarket ones and one grotty looking one. I couldn't find anywhere middling (obv looking in the wrong place). So I gave in and had a panini in Cafe Nero.

    8) Got a smart shirt from Chthm charity shop - it will fit one or other son.

    9) Popped into Lush to get them 100g of soap each (this is a big treat to them) and was given some free shampoo! Then had parked outside the Swallow Bakery which looked nice so got us a cake each from in there. Cakes and box hidden on the piano now so I won't eat them and the cats will leave them til the boys get home.

    10) Came back through Evesham and Pershore and, whilst driving through Pershore dazzled by the array of charity shops, thought I would park if I could find a space - then there was a big space on the side of the road! Dropped sister's clearing outs off then went round the charity shops and got 2 books for me, a nice top from Mistral (originally), a Next pair of trousers for bigger son and some sheepskin slippers for smaller son! All very reasonable too. Also got bigger son's ingredients for his cookery lesson at school tomorrow.

    11) Got home and the crabapple and blackberry jelly I had started this morning had finished draining so I just cooked it up with the sugar and jarred it.

    12) My favourite film is on tonight! Pity it starts at 11pm. :-( I can recommend The Motorcycle Diaries, on Film 4....
  • Buzeee Bees, Newbies and Tigresses. Need I sway more! Come on in, all is ready. Grab a glass of wobbleade and let me just waffle! On and On and On and On and On!!!

5 Last Post, wobbleade ewmporiums are closed. No more sniffing the barmaids aprona and nose bagging. Help is needed and to thinks the Frith was so close, but did not like Cheltslum. You are right there is not decent cafe in that place ...

4 Easy drive today, and visit to docs. CT scan on Thursday and return to work at same time!

3 Just had neighbour round, seems there moggie has gone astray. Just had to check the shed etc. Problem with cats is that you do not own the blessed things. Ours, winter mood has set in, he will venturte out if a big enough b oot walks around. Until such time as that could occur he will just adopt trhe sleep position, ecpet when he needs feeding. Sorted then, free to a good home.

2 Well, did me toe nails this week. You could had grown ... Not really, just thought I would share that with you all. Such a pleasure afterwards when hot bath, with soak and duks come out. Tidal wave and hot towles to finish off with. So non MSE but too giood to ber true.

    1 Gone.
I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!

Hello, first post on this thread from me, but I love the idea of finding things to be grateful for everyday :)

    So here are my things:

    1) My son slept through the night and we had a little lie in

    2) We have been making plans for the future and I am feeling very happy and contented

    3) My husband is baking some bread as I type :)

    4) We have had good weather and my washing is drying on the line rather than using the tumble dryer

    5) We sky plussed the Classical Brit Awards so are going to watch that tonight with a beer :)

    1. OK ish day at work

    3. A woman at work gave me some old lettuce for the hens which was thoughtful of her . Another colleague gave me some home grown chillies.Another gave me a card to say sorry for p****ng me off last week. Not a bad haul really???

4.One hen has gone bonkers- she won't leave the kitchen and keeps shouting at us demanding food /attention.She is the smallest and yet the loudest little red hen we have ever had - all mouth and no trousers !! Very amusing .

5.Quorn chow mein - sounds gross but it was nice .

    Hello to all new posters!

Purple kitten the OS meet was really fun, we got another couple in the pipeline, check the thread and join us if you can, it is always such a feeling to meet more like-minded people.

DundeeDoll re Brabantia bin, after I put it in my kitchen and gave DD the old beige plastic one for her paper recycling (studying graphics at Uni so uses lots of paper), yesterday DS and I were regretting it badly! It is a very good bin, beautifully made but too modern, too shiny. DS said hat he has known the old bin for all his life, 23 years, and I said hat I really miss the retro look of it. We decided to ask DD to swap. Luckily she is happy to do so, as she likes it, being quite a designery object!

My pleasures for the last few days:

    1. The meet was great
    2. The clearing of the spare room is progressing. Not as fast as I would like but better than no progress
    3. Done some allotment work on Sunday
    4. Work with the boys school pick up is getting better, they are finding that I am quite strict so have stopped trying to push boundaries, they are really sweet boys really!
    5. DH is cooking dinner

    Good night all x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
