5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

well still here to tell the tale of the night we had a 5.4 earthquake, I had just gone to bed when it struck, the whole house shook but from underneath (well, that's probably obvious!) , it was all rather bizarre at the time & then I realised what was actually happen....no longer sleepy! So it's been the talk of the town today....'did you feel the earthquake last night?' It just goes to show you have absolutley no warning about these things.
Tonight we have high winds forecast 110km/hour(about 70 miles) it is certainly very windy & very, very chilly at the moment. However, heating's on & we're warm enough inside. I had to scrape ice of my car this morning!
I think my only pleasure of today is I'm eating chocolate as I type. Crazy day at work and OH not feeling at all well. This will only get worse as days go on. Poor him, he said tonight 'Am I half way through yet?" ...er, no, not even a third! Whilst Radiotherapy kills any cancer cells it also kills good, healthy cells. It's so hard seeing him have to go through everything but he is doing everything so well.
That's me! Have a good day & PK take care0 -
Hugs to you and OH mhagster xx0

Hugs to you both Mchagster, and I hope that's proper english choccy you've got there. That said not sure what Auss choc is like I was confusing it with the "American" type.0

'Fraid it's Oz chocolate....it's what they sell here after all! An acquired taste but when it comes down to it, chocolate is chocolate!0

Well done Kitchenbunny on that weight loss :T
Five for today
1. DH has saved us about £100.00 in tradesmens fees for replacing two ridge tiles himself (that includes the hiring of the crawler, the two roof tiles at £6.10 for the two and the cement). Feel relieved that is done now.
2. Went like a mad woman with the lawnmower doing the lawns this morning huge black clouds in the sky so again another job out of the way especially as we have a few days rain forecast
3. Two loads of washing done this morning and dried outside on the line - just brought in.
4. Standing in bedroom window feeling smug that all outside jobs are done - for this week at least.
5. I will clean house through later but for now having five mins me timeCat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

KB thank you for pointing me to the Millies recipe, had to make a batch with my last egg and they are moooorish.:p
I’m hoping whatever is playing up will hold at bay while I earn for a few months, we shall see of course.
1.Did a tip run with a load of things cleared from dads at the weekend.
2. I used up fruit that was going off and created a lonely banana, 25 strawberry, 2 nectarine and milk type smoothie thing, hmmm now I still maintain it’s part of my 5 a day even thou I read somewhere the sugar content is probably more than the bar of chocolate that is still somehow in the freezer.
3.In chatting with a neighbour and DH, I apparently have a reputation round here of using up everything, I don’t let the food go to waste but having a chest freezer helps, and the neighbours get inspiration from the recycling and bird food creations, it was a pleasure to hear, it could’ve been an insult but I took it as a pleasure..:rotfl:
4.As we are running on fumes I’ve made a shopping list of vitals, and have double checked the cupboards and all prices to make sure we get the best prices.:)
5.Because of no4. we have put a couple of bits on ebay today, and we are thinking of actually giving a go at car booting at the weekend, not something I’m looking forward to, tbh If anyone has any tips on how to survive hagglers. So this afternoon DH is going through the garage and getting bits together, and I’m getting books and clothes together and we will give it a go n see.
6. Duvets from the caravan out in the sunshine to get aired.0 -
Afternoon - let's try and think of 5 pleasures for today:
1. I'm trying to leave my hair a day between washes and I'm getting better at it. Less grumpy second-day, if you know what I mean!
2. Another NSD, taking the total for June to 9!
3. Simple soup supper.
4. Day 4 of no Coke or Chocolate! And no cravings for them either
5. The sun is out. There was a little bird on the windowsill when I got into work this morning
I'm tired. It's been a long old day today. Most of the conversations today centred around the football, which is good as I'm sensing a few undercurrents in the office which are never useful. Never mind. I'm trying to keep my head down and get on with it.
Have a lovely evening all.

Good evening all!
Been MIA as had a few hideous days with no pleasures - but PK I am sorry to hear about the DVT xx
VJsmum- please let me know if you find any trendy/posh shoes for your DD , my niece has size 10 feet and at 15 years she is not so keen on wearing her Dads steel toe capped work boots everywhere!
5 for yesterday
1. My brother called to ask for a lift (as he has broken his toe ) to pick up his new car (another OGV) , so I hung around whilst they did the paperwork . Reverbed a scuffed penny and got a free hot chocolate. I like spending time with my brother
2. Got two lots of washing done
3. Miss . Barker the dog has settled in.
4. Frankel = awesome . Got less "air time" though than the !!!!!! with the hair transplant who headed a spherical object in some netting. Has the world gone mad :rotfl:;)
5. Blokey came to read the meter, said he had a nasty 2 day cold last week . He was right .
5 for today
1. Lovely day !
2. Ate some strawberries warm from the sun (I hope!!) and peas as I was gardening. A bit of dirt won't hurt.
3. An afternoon snooze
4. Reading nice down shifting stuff on the kindle.
5.Still a bit snotty but its nice to just be able to have the energy to get on with stuff .
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all.
Sorry I haven't been on the forum for a few days - I've got an infection in my toe that's making me feel rather sorry for myself.Of course, that nothing to your dramas PK and mhags (and Mr mhags) - hugs to you.
A few from me for the past couple of days:
1) Phoned up my GP at 3.30 this afternoon and have an appointment for 9am tomorrow. Good old NHS!
2) Sunshine.
3) Took back a pair of trousers that I bought to replace a favourite pair that I couldn't find - which of course turned up the moment I got the new ones home. :wall:
4) My DSis has confirmed that she is coming to stay this weekend, but for two nights rather than three as she originally planned. Does it make me a bad person that I'm slightly relieved at the shorter stay?(I love my sister, really I do, but she can be seriously hard work when she's in the mood.)
5) Found out at work today that we're getting a bonus next month - and enough to make a difference rather than the few pounds we got last time. :j (Although we were suitably grateful for the extra pounds, I hasten to add!)
6) Making a loaf of onion bread to go with whatever I decide to have for dinner tonight - possibly baked feta.
Have a good evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
5 or so for today.
1) Not a bad sleep and up in time for croissants before school.
2) Smaller son was allowed to go swimming with his class!
3) Texts from OH. :-)
4) Walked to mum and dad's house.
5) Bigger son had his hair cut. That's 10 inches off this year. It's now only collar length. Still plenty of it.
6) McD's for tea.
7) Lovely weather.0
