    1. Putting the tumble dryer on - then realising that it was surprisingly warm and very windy out, so I hung the washing out to dry instead.

    2. Doing a stack of ironing ready for the week ahead and listening to Radio 4.

    3. Lovely roast lunch, expertly prepared by DH. A great big local, free range chuck with lots of spare meat on it. BOING!!! This chicken looks like it's as rubber as they come!

    4. Shopping chez Mr S with one of my boys. I'd missed the whoopsies, apart from a small wedge of half-price cheese. But I discovered the half price toy sale and got a couple of Christmas gifts ready.

    5. Having to bite my tongue when I noticed the man behind me at the till had a 4-pack of branded soups - I'd bought 4 single ones of the same brand on offer and saved myself around 60p on the pack-price. So why a pleasure? That's because I realised that I'm well and truly getting back into this!

Off to bed shortly with my list of things to tackle this week as a 'lady of leisure' (apart from the job applications). My boys have an extended half term so I'm going to be a SAHM for the next few days.

    Sleep tight all.

    Here's mine from yesterday:

    1) Making 9 little sausage pasties and freezing them
    2) Having leftover pastry from that and that too being frozen to make a mincemeat lattice from the leftover mincemeat from last year ;)
    3) Sausages, mash, veg and onion gravy for tea... mmm
    4) Having a nice lazy day with my lovely DH watching tv and films
    5) Getting all the ironing done.

Have a great day, everyone :)

Good morning all - well it isn't really BUT just hoping it doesn't last the whole day!

Haribo - sounds like you and your girls enjoyed your Hallowe'en activities.
bails - wtg on joining your local LETS - hope it all works well for your wedding - what a great idea .
Rummer - oh heck - you're at the pressie wrapping stage already - I need a kick up the rear, I think .
Toonie - wow - where do you find a OH like that!
sunflower76 - mmmm chippy tea and good luck with the Home Brew .
savingforoz - well done to all who were at the Bristol meet-up .
billy858 - sweets left-over from Hallowe-en - well done you - we were cleared out :( - nothing left over for the 'chief witch' to nibble on! Good Luck with the college assignments.
sexki11en - amazing how mild the weather's been up till now, isn't it - I've been drying outdoors too - no chance today though :(. Enjoy your SC - love mine .
grandmasam - sorry to hear about Teddy's paw - hope he's recovering now and (very sorry) still chuckling about your 'garden wall exploits' :rotfl:. We used to have a couple of Jack Russell's, so I know only too well the sort of problems those 'terrier-type's can get us into .
charlies-aunt - well done you on getting to the bottom of your ironing basket :T - the strawberry wine was well deserved ;).
ACEY - Housework, sweeping leaves AND swimming - you're making me feel dizzy here - must go for a lie-down  hehehe!
nuttybabe - :T on your first kid's party being such a success - good to hear they let you have a decent lie-in afterwards :).
Broomstick - your middle of the night drive home sounds delightful :). Hay is one of those places that I've never visited BUT would love to one day - just adore second-hand bookshops .
scotrae - awww missing the whoopsies would make me so  - and as for the guy at the till, what a plonker ! Some people just don't check to see if a bargain is really a bargain.
Souk08 - well done on your soup making :).
Kitchenbunny - great baking session there .

    Mine for yesterday are:

    1. DS2 and his g/f collecting dgs 2&3 early and taking them for breakfast in Tescos - they'd really appreciated the night out as they both work silly shifts and don't often get the chance - glad to be of use :).
    2. DD's b/f coming to collect me to go to her house - free lift :j.
    3. Calling in Asda on the way to DD's to get her two of those round paper lampshades for her living room (£1.50 each) - sick of looking at two hanging lightbulbs . Also got her a cooked chicken for their evening meal.
    4. Arrived to find that DD had done nearly all the cleaning necessary and really only wanted me there for my company .
    5. Laughing at the 'One-Hit Wonders of the 80's' on one of the music channels - at the clothes/hairstyles. Could tell it was very American-made as they had 'Frankie goes to Hollywood' and 'Madness' as being one-hit wonders - wonder how many hits they had between them in THIS country .
    6. Spending a little bit of time with dgd's 1&2 and dgs1 when they arrived home from visiting their dads before coming back home again.
    7. DD made some sandwiches from the cooked chicken, which I then went and raided (removed all meat from the carcasse to clingfilm for the fridge) poured the stock from the bag into an empty coffee jar and put the carcasse back into the bag for bringing home with me :j. Used the stock to make my chicken gravy when I got in and put the bones in the freezer with my others for future use. DD's b/f thought it was hilarious and she told him 'Oh mother never wastes anything!'.
    8. Intend to tackle the pumpkin flesh at some point today, as long as my tenants behave themselves - though I need to go around and give them all their money back for the trip that isn't happening :(.

Hope we all have a great mse/os day - love Ollie xxx

ps - would you believe it - the rain has stopped, sun's come out and the wind's dropped !

    Thanks Ollie, lovely post.

I'm going to put mine up early (well it's 3pm here):

    1) I decided to do what was important to me today rather than what I SHOULD do :T
    2) my job application for a job I REALLY want is coming together quite well, just a few finishing touches needed now then the interview later in the week:eek:
    3) I sat upstairs on the roof under a beautiful blue sky and the sun felt lovely on my skin
    4) I'm not missing OH quite as much now as I was this morning
    5) I'm about to have my first (free) Tibetan lesson with my lovely landlady

    Have a great day everyone!

Ollie - TT sounds lovely! That must have broke your heart but I understand one day it will come to that decision for me too. Quality of life, those three words each pet owner dreads to hear and consider. Did you replace with a new kitty?

    Nuttybabe and sexk11ten - Welcome!

    Couple of days worth here

    1) Kitchen marathon yesterday. Cooked and stripped two chickens, made two b aked potatoes for todays dinner, made 8 pieces potato bread, roast potatoes , two chicken and leek pies, carrot cake and carrot cake buns

    2) Leaving pie and roasties and carrot cake buns in the fridge for best friend to collect today after her 24 hours shift

    3) Saving chicken carcass (which i roasted), and chicken fat, and leek peelings to make stock

    4) needing creme fraiche for a recipe - only to find natural yoghurt ice cubes in the freezer. I was about to guesstimate how much one cube was, but I had already written on the bag (one cube is 1tbps). I laughed at how previously organised me knows how chaotic and forgetful cooking me can be sometimes

    5) Writing silly notes on the chicken to myself to read in time to come

    6) Staying at home halloween night and getting a good sleep of 13 hours ( i really needed)

    7) Home made potato bread for breakfast

    8) Dinner of baked pots beans and cheese - and pots only need heated so quick dinner!

    9) Bottle of skittles vodka been sitting since Saturday. Probably all be drank tomorrow on my birthday - everyone will want some!:p

that's all i can think of today
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Afternoon all. Well after what looked like a promising morning, the weather has once again taken a turn for the worse - and it's so dark! My blessings for today,
    1. Chilli in the slow cooker.
    2. Managing to go for an afternoon run before the heavens opened. (Half marathon next week).
    3. Writing a list of things to do today and getting them all crossed off (for once).
    4. Another christmas present bought (and hidden).
    5. Going to look round the supermarket for bargains tonight.
    Love to all.X
