would you be able to share the Microwave flapjack recipe

No problem... I've just made some. :)

100g Veg Margarine (the cooking type)
    25g Soft Brown sugar
    2 tablespoons Golden Syrup

Put these ingredients in a bowl and microwave until the Margarine is melted - usually about 90 seconds. Stir well.

    Add...

200g Rolled oats (or perhaps 170g oats, 30g coconut)

Mix well (so all the oats are coated) and microwave on full power for 3 mins.

Add things like choc chips, chopped nuts, sultanas, fruit jam, finely chopped dried apricots, etc.

Stir well and turn into a greased dish. Press down well.

Allow to cool, then place in the fridge for a few hours until set.

Delicious - I particularly like the combination of coconut & raspberry fruit conserve.

For anyone who feels let down by the lack of cheap peppers in Aldi, Lidl have Red Peppers on their half-price weekend offers - 40p each.

Does anyone know why they are (normally) so expensive?

They also have their excellent Turkey Steaks on offer - £1.49 for three steaks.

    Same here.
I have started buying frozen sliced peppers now, as the fresh ones are getting too expensive-about 79p each here! But i love fresh ones as they are lovely and crunchy and sweet...but i refuse to pay such silly prices!

On the pepper subject, keep an eye out at Tesco. When they mark things down you can get peppers at rediculously low prices. Last Saturday I was able to get 8 yellow peppers (nice and big and crisp too!) for 9p each. I would have gotten more, but there was another lady grabbing them as fast as I was!

If anyone really wants peppers to snack on (or for anything else), then Tesco is selling a bag of sweet mini peppers for £2.
    They taste lovely!
