    Do you know whether that's a text to voice message (in which case, I wouldn't get it because I have that annoying facility switched off) or a 'real' voice message?
    Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    I though the prices sounded cheap for BT so checked here:

    BT 1471 has a fixed price of 12.2p. The fee will apply when customers press "3" to return the call to the telephone number of the last caller and will be charged regardless of whether or not the call is connected.

    It my case I was charged even though I got a automated message from BT saying I had not been charged for this call - a charge did turn up on my bill.

    That post of mine you quoted was from over 3 years ago - the prices have risen!
    Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market.
