I'd love to say yes, but it depends on how good I am, how many outlets for selling stuff I can find, and what kind of profit margins are on them.
My current plan is to gradually set up a handful of Etsy shops over the next 3 months or so, and see what sells, if anything, and at what price and find my feet from there. I would love to have established myself enough creatively to be able to jack in my real job within 2 years but I've been saying that for at least a year!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'm going to sound so old here but life just gets in the way sometimes!
I like the dream job game though! Sadly I'm one of the rare weird few who doesn't have a dream job. I'm happy plodding along in the Office - I feel left out now!0 -
I was thinking if it took a little longer, that maternity leave would give you the ideal time to try it out and see whether it was feasible long term... what kind of things do you make, apart from giant dresses? (which JK Rowling tells me there's a burgeoning market for

Lol the dress is actually working out about the right size.
Right now I do a lot of photography, I paint and can make prints of these paintings, I make cakes although can't get health and safety atm, and I can make basic sewn items like aprons. Future ideas include jewlellery, made to measure clothes, other sewn goodies, selling my cakes and desserts, making soap, using my kiln to make sculptures and general pretty glazed things, I'd love to do fused glass, and I have basic blacksmithing skills although would need a portable forge. I'd love to combine these various techniques to make art, but my main dreams at the moment would be making wedding dresses, fused glass or corsets.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

WOW, that's an impressive list! :T I am somewhat creatively challenged, or as I prefer to think, my creative skills are underdeveloped
The only time I'm creative is in my lessons, but I plan on changing that over the next few years. OH's step uncle makes lovely fused glass - they have a huge walk in shower made out of it (I'd like one if you're reading Peter :rotfl:)
Dinah, no doubt you've already seen but 2nd class stamps are 5% off at Morrisons til 22nd, getting Mum to get me loads for the invites and Thankyou cardsSigh, I love MSE! :T
Cinny, if you're happy in your job then what's the problem? I had no dream job either, came back from my gap year still not having a clue what I wanted to do but 200% sure it wasn't teaching, and here I am :rotfl: It clicked with me when I was in my final year of uni, so something may pop up for you yet...

So come on Tete, what would be your dream job?The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

I did a post but I think it got a bit lost at the bottom of the last page... Something akin to what Dinah describes would be fab as well, but going on what I've spent on fabric etc so far at sewing I don't think the profit margins are that great ... unless you're REALLY good!
ETA - Gah, and I've just gone and bought all my stamps for my Crimble cards!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Eek, forgot I need stamps!! Thanks for reminding me Bails
Dinah - Just a heads up for Beautyjudge. They're giving away The Silm Girl's Secret Sets for trial tomorrow - might be good for those on diets! Plus they're worth £79.95 so it's a decent freebie!0 -
I am pretty happy in the job I am in now. The only other job I want to do is be a Mum as sad as that sounds!0
