Flower, that's a really lovely present from your friend; I'm so glad she got you some something so special to remember her by and not some smellies or socks! It really sounds like she was a wonderful person and a great friend!

I know im so pleased that it is something that i can keep forever. Maybe not the chocolates, they dont last 5 minutes in this house :rotfl: but the photo is lovely - and its actually a nice one of me for once.
In a strange kind of way opening the present has actually cheered me up today. Spoke to my other close friends and they all had the same thing off her - picture of each of them with her - so im really pleased that all 4 of us have something to remember her by.

That's such a lovely gift Flower! And like you said, something you can keep forever. Glad you're feeling a little better today too :) How sweet of your OH to send you off for a little pamper too!

Well Mrs Poolie has got to sick to travel as she would be quarantined in China so the whole trip has been cancelled.

Mrs Poolie has a refund. Trying to sort my sisters as ebookers claim the outward flight was business class when the email confirmation says economy so they can't give her a refund so I have raised a complaint. They are giving her the tax back for a start but I am chasing hard for the rest. Sister is going to claim on her travel insurance.

Mrs Poolie phoned doctors who said she needed to get onto the pandemic helpline who have issued tamiflu. So Doctors have a record that she is too ill to fly and the doctor will complete the insurance form for the usual cash fee.

Sisters train fare cost her £90 to get up the road this afternoon so not too bad as she is getting money back left right and centre.

There is talk of June 2010 now.

What a nightmare for Mrs Poolie. At least you get to spend Christmas with her now though.

Oh jeez Poolie! I hope Mrs Poolie is okay, and like Dinah said at least you get to spend Christmas with her now. Hope your Sister gets her money back for the flight too.

I've been sleeping in till about 9:30 since Saturday :o I'm slowly getting more and more excited about Christmas so I'm staying up later, and getting up later though. Enjoy your lie in!

Flower - Hope the next couple days aren't too painful for you! My Sister is working late Christmas Eve and early Boxing Day this year, kind of makes me glad I work in an Office!
