I can't believe how much chaos the snow is causing!
Sorry to hear you're stranded CMD - sounds very stressful, but glad you'll be able to get home okay now for a relaxing family christmas!
Snow was very beautiful here - especially Friday at 2am when I was walking home from work do in 6inches of snow (and 3 inch heels - oops) and nobody else around. There's nothing like snow on the beachthe beach huts look super pretty!
It's mostly the pavements that are proving lethal!
Poolie, what a nightmare! I really hope travel insurance will cover it. (I'm so relieved that BA aren't allowed to strike as we wouldn't have been able to claim anything! Now I'm just hoping that the airports will be open)

What a nightmare with all the snow etc, you wouldn't even know there had been snow in central London.
CMD - hope you manage to get home OK, that is good news you are booked on a flight.
Tete - come down here and have a lesson from my sister, she is always knitting (it is her job though), she has about three knitting machines as well.
I now hav eth grand total of 88p in my account and get paid tomorrow, thankfully I brought my lunch in.0 -
Cripes Poolie, that's horrendous! Are they putting the prices up because they know people are desperate? At least she's not stranded at the airport.
Fingers crossed for your Dub flight tonight CMD - having your mum pack your bags would be a stressful enough scenario without everything else, or am I being a control freak there?
Wendz, what does your sister actually do? Is she one of those types of people that have been in Kirstie's programmes? Does she knit you Christmas Sweaters???
Glad your hols are safe Poddle, weather permitting at least. I hadn't realised BA had reached any kind of conclusion, must have missed it in the news.
Just got myself a lovely S&G hat boxWas lucky and walked in just as they'd had a delivery I think. They're such a bargain considering that there's 11 things in it and each one would be at least a fiver - they're a bargain at £50 let alone £20!

The main one in Middlesbrough, they seemed to have quite a lot but not sure if it's a constant stream of supplies or what ... I'd have thought the whole country would be sold out as they went on sale on Friday. Maybe get NIM to have a look in the Billo one or if there's a one in Guisborough - maybe there's less demand in the smaller stores?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

I'll see if he fancies being sent to the one in Billingham. I'm done with work so not going to Guisborough, not that bothered!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Well done on getting the hat box Tete! I'm still hat box-less and I'm not happy! Mum said that on Friday the whole company had more or less sold out by about 10am!
It sounds like the snow has caused havoc with all of us! I hope you get to Dublin OK CMD, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! And I hope Mrs Poolie gets her money back, £1800 each is crazy!!! I didn;t realise that the BA strike was off either, I think in all of the other travel chaos the news of it has been missed, maybe they've realised that in light of what's happened and the fact that it was a bloomin stupid idea to strike at Christmas anyway, it's not going to do them any favours if they strike now!
The roads were OK around me, a bit slushy round the edges but we seem to have been well looked after by our snow plow people. We went to Northallerton yesterday because SIL wanted to borrow my smart black funeral/interview dress (she's got a funeral on Christmas Eve, how awful!), assuming that the roads there would be OK but it was just a big icy slush fest! It was pretty scary driving in it, I had a bit of a wobble on the way into town and some horrid woman who was walking on the pavement shouted at me about my rubbish driving- it's hardly my fault that the council can't be bothered to clear the roads and my little Punto got scared!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Be nice to think that about BA staff Birdie, but no, last week a judge ruled its illegal for them to strike at this time as the ballot was conducted incorrectly.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
