That looks nice for your honeymoon Dinah. Greece was perfect for us in July/August.
Trying to think where we want to go next year for a holiday. Might be a last minute booking ie once I get my bonus or we book it on CC and pay it off once I get my bonus. I think Mrs Poolie wants Turkey or Spain. I am undecided at the moment.
Nice - it looks amazing!!!
My friend is getting married in Italy on the same day as Dinah so we are looking at that as a mini-break or holiday. Don't know if we will make it any further than Ireland with the baby coming along!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Blimey Dinah, you're going all out on your honeymoon (not a criticism at all)! I really don't know what we're going to do...
Lol you're going all out on your LIFE, thats much bigger! Nah if we were going all out we'd go for the water bungalow at Kandooma and pay the extra £2200, but thats pushing things a bit too far.
Anyone have, or know anyone who has one of the newer meganes? We're going to test drive a 2006 one. Seems a very reasonable buy and ticks all the boxes and is under our budget.
We tried on lots of wedding rings at the weekend Bails, didn't like any of them, think I actually do want to be traditional and go for the plain band. So we're hoping the ones we already saw will be reduced in the january sales (slim chance but I can hope!).
Other than that just the 5 travel agents quotes gotten at the weekend, I did have a nightmare about not being ready though so I've accepted the need to start doing things.
Also met up with one of my bridesmaids for coffee while in Birmingham.
Poolie - We were in the travel agents at the weekend and they were advising a couple behind us to look further afield than europe as with the exchange rate the way it is long haul is working out a lot cheaper over the course of 10 days/2 weeks due to spending money and food being so insanely expensive in most of europe at the moment. Just worth doing the maths on if nothing else. (The couple ended up booking florida as it happens, travel agent suggest Cuba, they were not keen seemed to think they'd certainly die)Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

thanks for the hint Dinah. I will wait and see what Mrs Poolie wants to do. We will not be booking anything till at least March / April so we will have a better idea how the exchange rates might be looking.0

Hi! Glad you enjoyed Birmingham Dinah, although you didn’t find any rings you want and Cadbury World wasn’t as good as you’d hoped!
We went to enquire about the Wedding-moon on Saturday and it looks like there’s going to be a lot of faffing about since we want to go to Florida after the Dominican! It looks like we’ve got to fly on KLM via Amsterdam and from the Dominican we have to fly into Miami, so the travel involved is: Manchester – Amsterdam – Dominican Republic- Miami – Orlando- Miami (?)- Amsterdam- Manchester! I’m not sure OH will be too keen on that! And we’re going to have to book the whole thing in pieces so we can’t book it until March and we had wanted to book it ASAP so we can let people know so they can sort out their time off work and start saving and sorting out their tickets etc. I don’t really want to send out Save the Date cards if we haven’t confirmed the date! Oh, and we have to be in the country for 4 days prior to getting married, not including the day we arrive and weekends don’t count so the travel agent thinks it’ll be better to be there for 10 days rather than 1 week so we’ll only have 10/11 days in Florida rather than a fortnight. Gah, the whole thing’s confusing me, it might be easier to just go for 2 weeks and leave my Disney Dream for another time!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Sounds like that would be a lot less stressfull Birdie, but only you know if you'd be happy with that. Its not like its a hardship for you to spend an extra week in the caribean!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Wow Birdie - how complicated?! If only you had a limitless supply of money, could just have three weeks in the dominican followed by a month at Disney :rolleyes:Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

I've had to stop looking at the photos of Meeru on trip advisor, I'm getting far, far too excited!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Well if you can't blow your budget on honeymoon, then when can you?! Only had chance to have a quick squizz but looks A-may-zing!
Birdie, your wedding moon sounds infinitely more complex! Maybe you are trying to do too much - I agree with Tete, a couple of weeks in the Caribbean sounds about perfect on its ownMaybe Disney dream when you've got kiddies to take, if you can wait that long...
My mum drives a 2005 Megane and she loves it - she does quite a lot of driving and up until a few months ago the only complaint she had was that the doors are v heavy (true). But recently she had some electrical fault - a light on the dash went on, no independent garages would touch it, she paid Renault £700 for the privilege of 'fixing it' but nobody really explained what that was for... I had a similar problem with my Clio - apparently the fault with the wiring loom (don't ask!) was a design flaw which Renault knew about but carried on manufacturing them the same way for the next 2 years, which makes me a bit sceptical!
Now my opinion is that they're lovely cars and great to drive, but I'd worry something would go wrong and be very expensive.
Hope that's helpful - it's so difficult giving advice on things which are subjective!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Dinah - sounds like plans are coming on well - the pics look fantastic! wouldn't worry too much about the rating on trip advisor - I find that people are very hard scoring on there and tend to mark down for very small things.
Just noticed in Poddles sig - the loose a stone challange - is it too late to join?New surname New start!
