Dinah, the more different items you put on Esty the more people will look at your other items IYSWIM. Peeps search for one item, then see all your other things that they didn't even know that wanted/needed and never would have searched for!!!!

    So, the more the merrier!

Dinah, was just taking another look at your photos, they're really good. What sort of camera do you use? We're looking at getting an entry level digital SLR - any recommendations? People seem to either go the Canon route or the Nikon route from what I gather...

    !

Just thought i would comment on this! OH is having a DSLR for christmas off me  expensive! But he has done a lot of research on it and it does seem that Canon and Nikon are the best out there.
He has personally decided on the Nikon route as he has heard a few minor complaints about Canon, but none from Nikon.
I dont personally have a clue about any of it but hes told me the model etc that he wants - very demanding :rotfl: am hoping it might give him some more confidence in his work to persue it a bit more.

Thanks for thinking of me guys. The service was really nice (as it can be anyway) and they tried to keep it light. Her boyfriend, best friends and uncle all spoke and did a great job. At the end when we all got up to go out they played 'i like to move it' which made everyone laugh. I went to hug my friend afterwards and she started crying , she said she was being strong till she saw us , bless her. The wake afterwards was nice as well and her Mum and Dad said thanks for being great friends. There were loads of people there , they had people doubling up standing all around the edge of the chapel. Anyway.. glad it went OK and I think she got the send off she deserved.

Sounds like it was a lovely send off for her - well you know what i mean, as well as it could be.

It must have been a huge comfort for your friend to have you there. Cant imagine how incredibly hard it must have been for her.

 Flower that's expensive - I hope he's getting you a gold bar or something for Christmas! I am just getting OH a case for his camera (definitely a big scrooge). Seriously though if you are more worried about your debt just give him a contribution towards it. :o

In case you're after some recommendations OH has a Nikon D40x - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikon_D40

Aww Wendz, sounds like the day went as well as it could have. You really know your friends when the chips are down, and I am sure she is so glad you came.

ETA - thanks Poddle, no more wedding plans, because if we get the mortgage we can't afford the wedding! Haha! Well, good things come to those who wait and all that, and I don't mind waiting until 2011 at all.

Just to play devils advocate Flower, while it is a very generous gift, I thought what he wanted most in the world was to move out? I decent DSLR is going to cost at least £400 excluding lenses, whens his birthday? Might it not be worth waiting and getting it for him then, and moving out 3 or 4 months earlier? Its entirely your decision, but if hes a good photographer already presumably he already has a camera, and an expensive camera is unlikely to give him any more confidence, only he can give himself that.

  • Morning girls, glad it went well yesterday Wendz - I Like To Move It? Really? Did she choose that herself? Nice to make people laugh at the end though :)

Lara - eek! Fingers crossed for you, when will you hear?

Dinah I think what TPA says is right, I often think if I like say a painting that someone's done, I'll look at their other items - jewellery etc, as I think I must like their taste - good idea to get lots of stuff on!

Hehe, I've got a little Lumix and I think it's the best thing ever! I love taking photos, I'm a nightmare for it, but at the same time I find those posh cameras a bit bulky for my needs - out walking etc - I'd love one eventually though. OH is getting me a sewing machine for Christmas so I can give his Mam hers back. The one I've got my eye on has all bells and whistles, I'm quite excited! I think I'm going to get him an ipod as he's been on about doing away with his CD player and just getting an ipod and dock...

FOUND MY PHONE!! It was on the back seat of the car - all tangled up in the seatbelt so I didn't see it the first time. Wish I'd checked there again before checking the wheelie bin again though!
