Leather suite?

Options
I want a leather suite, anyone know a good place to get one from? I have been to SCS and thought the quality of the leather was .....well not brilliant, I have also been to Harveys, not overly impressed. Will try DFS over the weekend, anyone know anywhere, Sheffield, Doncaster or even Nottingham????? Also those of you who have leather, is there anything I should or shouldnt be looking for?

Well I have spent the bank holiday looking for a new three piece suite. I want a leather one, have scoured DFS, SCS, Harveys, Furniture Factors and a couple of local shops, I am totally confused, one says this leather is better another says no, the opposite is better, do you really get what you pay for??? I am just worried that what looks like a great sofa now.........five years down the line will look shabby...................HELP ANYONE!!!!

Like with all things, get a recommendation from a friend who has one, there's no better advice than from experience.

Also have you tried Ikea, they have some quality items in there amongst the tat.

I think the bottom line is shop around and find something with which you're happy and feel represents value for money.

Personally I have a irrational revultion of DFS and such large pile it high we'll deliver it in 6 months after we've had your deposit places and I tend to shop locally, but like I say, this is irrational.

If you're looking at spending a lot of money (some of these sofas are £8,000 buy the time you've bought the suite) I'd seriously consider getting something made bespoke, you'd be suprised how far that money will go with a proper local furniture maker. You then get a one off piece that no one else will have.

Not too irrational. We waited 10 weeks for delivery of a leather suite from Harveys which wasn't right when it arrived so another 10 weeks waiting for the replacement.
2weeks to go and if it aint here then it's already logged with Trading Standards so will be rejected.

I have had a good experience with Harveys. we got our sofa from SCS. i think the cheap ones are cheap quality, but we payd over 3000 reduced from 6000 for an italian leather one and its so comfy and doesnt sag.

if you can go for a brand name (parker knoll) it will last for years. you could get a second hand named one and pay to get it recovered.

Thanks for your replies, There is a suite in Harveys that I really like and there is one locally too. My main worry is that the leather will go saggy in time. Both suites will be around £3000 so not really that cheap. Will ponder this some more I think!!!!! Thanks for your imput
