im after a brown leather 3 seater sofa only but i want a good quality one with a budget of around £800-£900.
My last leather suite was from reids and i found it very well built with no squeeks or problems over the years, leather was good and lasted well. I want to buy something of similar quality but reids seem to mostly sell other manufacturers stuff now instead of all their own made stuff.
SO where can i go for a quality leather sofa for around this price, i live in ayrshie scotland so glasgow is only 30 odd miles away.
Is dfs any good or land of leather or harveys, i have been to land of leather and i thought a lot of their stuff was cheap ie £600 for a 3 seater, so has leather sofa's gotten chaper over the years or are these cheaper ones rubbish?
is there any stores i could visit and if i find one i like, order from another cheaper store on the internet? just a thought, obviously you would want to see and try it first
any advice is greatly appreciated

We bought two brown leather sofas from DFS last year, and so far we have been very pleased. They seem to be well made, and the leather is lovely and soft. We've only had them for about 6 months though, so I couldn't judge the long term durability yet.
We also had 4 years interest free credit, which I thought was a very good deal - we don't even start paying them off until the Autumn.
I would definitely advise seeing the actual model and colour sample you want to purchase though, as we picked one out online at first, and then hated it when we saw it 'in the flesh'.'Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.'0 -
I went into land of leather recently and asked about the cheaper sofas. The salesman said the seats and arms are made of leather. But the sides are leather match. Ie not leather. But they looked the same. Thats why the prices are cheaper.0

thanks for the reply, that is another thing that bothers me, i have the funds to pay for my sofa in full but places like sterling, dfs & reids and many other shops have interest free 4 years deals, im not interested in this, and i have asked before but they say they cant discount the stuff so when you have the money to buy you are not getting a good deal unless you take advantage of the payment deals, i believe the interest is added to the price and makes me question that a 900 quid sofa may only be an 800 quid sofa with intest added and thus no good deal for me.
all the salesmen will say they are good quality but im dubious about leather sofa around the 600 mark.
smiley, i am surprised by that but when you think most peoples sofa is against a wall then it makes sense to use imitation leather for the rear and sides to reduce cost. I just thought some in land of leather were small for a 3 seater sofa and looked cheap.
i got my last sofa i got from next, its a cloth 3 seater and was 900 and i got it as a showroom clearance for 450 but its one of them sofas you have to puff up the cushions evey few days and im fed up with it looking shabby, i want leather again as it just spring back to its full glory with no assistance.0 -
