Had one of the nicest Christmas days for a long time. Woke up at 8.30am and rang all the kids to wish them a Merry Christmas then showered, had breakfast before heading down to Dorset for Xmas dinner with the older kids. DS1 was working till 4.30pm so we had quite a late lunch but lovely to spend some good time with DD1.
On the way home, picked up DS2 and DS3 from their house. Brought them home here as I have them till tomorrow night as there is a match tomorrow at home. They've opened their presents here tonight and are in a gorgeous mood tonight; just gone to bed now!!
Tomorrow, heading down for the football match, 3.00pm kickoff. Rest of the week will be spent preparing for the New Year; need to get the house a little straighter and set my first budget for the new month.0 -
Glad to see you had such a lovely Christmas day Mart! I really hope and pray that 2012 will see some resolve in the situation with your youngest two, even if it is just your ex getting some help with her problems.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0

Thanks Suzi, that's a lovely post....
:T
Had a lazy morning today before lunch and then going to work at the football club this afternoon. The lads lost 3-2 to Charlton, really harsh on them after a great performance.
Came home tonight and then dropped the boys off home at 9pm. Not seeing them tomorrow which will be the first day in almost two weeks that I've not had them over!Off to the gym in the morning then have a lot of paperwork stuff to sort out.

Well after saying yesterday that today was going to be the first day in ages that I hadn't seen them, lo and behold they're here and in bed asleep.
One of them rung up earlier this evening in tears having had a set-to with his brother. Turns out that she has been "ill" in bed all day and has only gone down to do their meals leaving them on their own for the rest of the time. Hence they've got bored and started picking fights with each other, ending in tears....:( . When you're eleven years old, the time between 7am and 7pm is a long time especially when for all but a couple of hours of that, you're alone!
Anyway we're off to do some geocaching in the morning then having a games afternoon after lunch with Monopoly on the agenda or maybe a DVD afternoon with Tim Vine and Cars 2 instead.0 -
Had another really nice day today with the boys. Got up really late (8.30am) and had breakfast then headed out for some local geocaching which tested our new Christmas presents to each other of wellington boots!
Back home, showered then after dinner, settled down for a sofa afternoon watching The Simpsons, Darts and the Tim Vine DVD. Took them home at 8.45pm tonight and not seeing them tomorrow....;):o
Speaking of tomorrow, going to attack some housework and yet more paperwork plus still haven't done January's budget yet. Today's spends were £13 on diesel, £2 on a car wash.0 -
Having said that I wouldn't see them today, guess who came around this afternoon around 2pm. Yes, spot on, and they stayed until 8.30pm when their mum came to pick them up!
Before they came around, I managed to try to open a bank account for the boys but LTSB had made me an appointment with a man who isn't in until next Wednesday..... clever people. Comforted myself with lunch from Greggs (£2.89) and went home.
Tomorrow the boys come around for the weekend so I'll try to keep them up for their first New Year late night (if I make it as well, that is!).0 -
Once again, the boys came round early as they were bored and their mum went back to bed early. Instead of having them at 2pm as planned, they came around at 11.30am. The oldest one has actually asked now to come and live with me but realistically, I'd still need his brother's agreement before I took it up with their mum.
Rest of the day was quite good. Had an email at 2.40pm informing us of a new geocache that had been laid and even though we got to it at 3.10pm, we were "second to find" which was a nuisance but nothing more.
Rest of evening having a game of darts and watching the football on the telly. Tomorrow, I've downloaded three more geocaches to do on the way down to watch the football which is an early kick off so we should be back home by 5pm tomorrow evening.0 -
Did the geocaches on the way to football where the team lost 3-1 after a poor performance really...
Came home, let the boys see the New Year in for the first time then went to bed. Woke up, had breakfast and set up thirty geocaches on the GPS but then the rest of the day turned into a nightmare. As usual, its all on the other thread.
If today is typical of what 2012 has in store, bring back 2011.0 -
Quieter day today, principally because none of us have been out the front or back door all day. Let the boys have a day in their PJ's as they didn't get back to bed until nearly 1am this morning.
So as a result, that was the first NSD of the New Year. Spent £7 on shopping in Tesco Express on Sunday which I forgot to mention yesterday and tomorrow we're going to Asda as DS2 needs some new school shoes and we're running short of a few things.0 -
Really nice waking up each day with no work to go out to and the boys at home. Wish it was like this all the time....
Meanwhile, back in the real world, went shopping in Asda once the rain had died down only to be evacuated from the store within three minutes of getting inside as someone had set off the fire alarm.
Completed shopping with the boys (£43) and this included some stuff that won't be needed for a while. Then went to Brantano to buy DS3 some new school shoes (£14), some petrol from Sainsbury's (£18 and eighteen Nectar points) and a tenner on the gas card.
Rest of the day spent at home though had to pop them home tonight to collect their PE kits for tomorrow's return to school.
Tomorrow we're doing morning DX before school then once they're safely in school, off to do the first gym workout of the New Year. Haven't put on a pound over Christmas although have been less careful at what I eat.0
