EE - he's putting two new tyres on it today and bringing it round this weekend sometime. I still have the previous one I've been driving so I'm not without a car.

Sea - I am paid for the writing I do on the website but its voluntary for the matchday programme. I got the website job through writing for the programme so I can't really grumble about doing it for nothing and it might be the basis to go full-time freelance one day...:D

Nice day today. Only went out once and would have had a NSD were it not for having to buy some cough medicine for the boys' cough. (£3.63).

Stayed in until lunchtime then took the boys around the rec for training. They're officially on a break from training for five weeks but I'm going to try to improve their fitness with an hours work each week.

Came back to watch the FA Cup Final then did tea and we've relaxed since. Didn't get to go to golf as DS2 said he was too tired so may try again tomorrow morning.

Just got back from the quiz which didn't go so well. Still had five "free drinks" vouchers" from last week so only had to pay a quid entry but we were distinctly average tonight and didn't win owt.:(

Otherwise, it has been a good day. Took the boys for a game of golf this afternoon (£11.20) but also noticed from the website that you can get a saver card if you're on a low income. The card entitles me to play for £1.80, saving about four quid - not sure about the boys.

Popped into Tesco's on the way home and got some milk etc (£4.97) then after I took the boys home, went to collect the new car. Need to fill it up tomorrow as well as doing lots of odd jobs too.

Have a long list of stuff to get through and I'm getting there slowly. Delivered two paper rounds this morning, wrote a story for the website then paid in a cheque that I received for compensation for the phone sold on E-bay not being delivered.

This afternoon I've got to go shopping, sort out some paperwork and start doing the summer housekeeping on the football club website.

Spent £20.00 on petrol this morning.

Shattered now. Must be getting old as I haven't really atretched myself today yet feel like I've been run over...

Been shopping this afternoon, spent £25.37 in Asda on this week's shopping although that included almost a tenner on razor blades (things not that bad, honestly) and some Lemsip as I'm coming down with a cold, I think.

Washed the car with a jet wash on the way out and the rest of the day will be spent inside doing things that won't exert my old bones too much!

I think it's a good night for an early night as this cold is getting me down a bit. I'm rarely ill but this could be that killer strain of man flu you've read about....:D

Haven't really done much else since the last update. Meant to say paid my rent earlier too. Should really start work on next season's programme but may leave it until I have a clear head tomorrow....:D

So much for having a clearer head today, I feel worse than ever. Must have woken up every half hour right through the night so feel tired too.

If this is the man flu, I'd just like to thank each and every one of you for reading my ramblings over the past six months or so. I may not be around much longer so I hope all of you have a great life....:D

It's certainly worse than a bad cold for sure. Have been sitting down for fifteen minutes or so and thinking of retiring to bed again once I have rung the boys as normal.

Had a dreadful last 24 hours but, fingers crossed, seem to be over the worst of it. I'll never laugh at anyone with flu again....:(

Went to deliver the papers this morning but could only manage one round instead of two which says it all really. Did a mini-shop (£6.81), paid my maintenance today too and had the boys round from school till 8pm. Could only last about 45 minutes before exhaustion took over....;)

Tomorrow I'm back down at the football club and hopefully I'll get a decent night's sleep tonight.

Actually returning to normal today, have felt much better thanks for asking....:p

Another terrible night's sleep so ended up getting up at 6.30am. Had brekkie then went down to the club buying lunch on the way in (£2.60). The club signed a player so had to write a press release for that then we went over to visit a supporter who has recently had an operation on his leg (he's had both legs amputated at knee level ) and takes a lot of photos for the club.

Had a good chat about next season with the media manager on the way over in the car and feel quite happy about next season. Could always do with more money but maybe consolidation is the way forward for the time being.

Also managed to sneak a preview of next season's away kit but annoyingly can't tell anyone what it looks like as the images are under embargo.

Put £25 of petrol in the car tonight and may be brave enough to go for filling it with gas at the weekend.:D

Yesterday saw another 15% improvement in my recovery from killer man flu but still only operating at around 80% power. Managed to deliver two paper rounds, go shopping (£23.75) and do a couple of stories for the website before getting the boys from school.

Didn't do a wonderful lot afterwards and packed the boys off a little earlier than normal to bed so I could watch the finale to "Ashes to Ashes".

Been in all morning and will wait for the sun to cool a little before we go and do some training in the park this afternoon.
