Anyone looking to fly BA

Yup, its that time of the year again. BA report huge losses which in turn mean the airline is forced to make cuts/freezes etc...

Obviously some one in the union missed a whiff of someone elses fart and has decided to ballot for strike action.

Since the strikes almost always seem to go ahead and BA can barely cope as it is, it might be worth keeping a close eye on this one if you are flying BA or looking to.

(Can someone please post the link its on BBC Business)

This year is only the second loss since privitisation. You make it sound like a regular occourance, just last year BA made a record profit of almost £1 billion.

The last cabin crew strike was in 1997.

Do you have an axe to grind by any chance?

I have no axe to grind.
However, there are discussions going on at the moment regarding strike action. This was disclosed to me by a Cabin Crew member. Its to do with the way they are paid for flights.

I am fully aware of what is going on re strike action, it was more the conext that the OP put it in that I was focusing on.

Right. I was under the impression BA only just broke even in 2007, and then reported losses of £150m in 2008?

Besides, i never said cabin crew or other, BA strike on a yearly basis pretty much, be it cabin crew, cooks or whoever. And if they don't strike they ballot to.

Im thinking its you with the axe to grind.

Kenny - your information is somewhat inaccurate, whereas qwerty is pretty much spot on. BA don't strike yearly, and certainly don't employ any "cooks", so I'm not sure what you are on about.

If you are referring to 'Gate Gourmet' then you are a million miles off as they aren't anything to do with BA.

Look, i get whats going on here, you and your buddy are stroking you're balls whilst trying to be pedantic. We all know what im talking about, whether it was Gate Gourmet or Mc Donalds, the fact is they went on strike and it had huge effects on BA.

As for my info on their performance, i may be a little off the mark - Im not an economist and purely writing from memory. If i am wrong then show me and ill apologise.

The postal strike will also impact on BA - does that count as a 'yearly BA strike' ? Apparently it does according to your criteria.

Im not getting into your silly little games.

There is obviously a clash of intelligence here.

If you are too stupid to see how strikes effecting BA pose risks to pax then can i suggest you visit UCAS (can't post links) and find a course which will educate you in places where you are currently lacking.

    If I was wrong - I would :D

You have just attempted to nit pick - You probably saw me as a new user and thought I was a perfect hunting ground to massage your ego.

Anyway, unless you want to meet me outside at playtime can we get this back on topic ;)
