Car battery failed after 10 months.

Sounds much more like an overcharging problem than a trickle discharge, that would be very unlikely to damage a battery.

When you get the new one fitted ensure they check the charging rate at the same time. Most reputable suppliers would do this anyway.

In all honesty I think you are getting sold dodgy batteries as the replacement, from the same source, failed the same way??

Someone said in a previous post that they got a new 3 year warranty with the replacement unit from Halfords, most, or some companies, will not do that. They will simply honour the existing warrany, ie 1 year or 3 years or whatever was given from the 1st purchase date. Not sure of the legality of this.

I agree, if not a charging fault then perhaps some other fault causing the battery to get too discharged. Either way I think the rest of the car needs checking out.
