Protected Investments is licensed by Severn Administration Limited for the use of the "Loanchecker"

On the form there is the following

As the Agent acting on my/our behalf, I/we authorise Protected Investments Limited and Severn Administration Limited to act on my/our behalf and hereby give authority for all the relevant information to the account to be made available to Protected Investments Limited, Severn Administration Limited and where necessary to Zar Legal Administration Limited and an appropriately experienced solicitor/firm.

Further to this I/We authorise Protected Investments Limited to act on my/our behalf, with the Information Commissioners Office, if the Subject Access Request is not responded to in the time frame defined by the Data Protection Act.

I/We further request that you communicate directly with Protected Investments Limited in respect of any aspects of the account and further instruct that delivery of all correspondence relative to the attached SARN request, be delivered directly to Protected Investments Limited.

But Loancheck foundation from Jan 2008 were not regulated by MOJ so were they exempt or something? They only became authorised since August, 2009 according to MOJ or am I missing something????

    Protected Investments Limited

Protected Investments Li... Leics Financial products/servi... Authorisation Surrendered 30/12/2008

If they need to be authorised now one would have thought they should always have needed to be authorised

So a letter to MOJ explaining the situation may be in order. But surely they would be aware of this. Loancheck seems to be a bit of a duck appears not to do much on the surface but by god there is a lot going on underneath the water.

You would think so wouldn't you??

Was it perhaps that with Severn being authorised they would have been covered by them but trading name of Severn on MOJ is "just" LOANCHECK so we don't know if it was loancheck limited, loancheck foundation, loancheck whoever really? Just going to look on the data protection register.

Perhaps Loancheck is just a Brand Name like "Widget" and the other companies underneath the umbrella hold the authorisation.

For clarification it was PIL's main function to acquire the client's data from the lender, create a case file and then pass the case file to Loancheck. Loancheck then carried out an audit on the account and then pass the case to a solicitor.

PIL had two functions, 1) to train and oversee agents who introduced cases to the loancheck service and 2)to carry out the administration of SARNS between the client and the lender.

We had a service contract with Severn Administration to carry out that work.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.

Just found this what was posted early on the thread about Black Knight

""""""From my reserach they would appear to be a software house that were incorporated in July of this year but had previously traded as a Partnership.

They commenced providing funding for solicitors almost immediately after they were incorporated and are apparently backed by a very large Shropshire company who operate within a wholly un-associated market.

Their main site does not carry any of the above but they also have developed a PPI website for those MOJ regulated companies wishing to enter this market.

(If you try and use the features of the site it doesn't allow access and you have to be MOJ regulated to buy credits - I've tried)!""""

Could this explain Black Knight now.

Petermb just for clarity, should PIL have been regulated on the data protection register to handle data or are you saying that Severn covered that?
