funnily enough they were talking about mushrooms on QI last night. I think (if I remember) there over 3,500 different types in the UK. Around 100 will make you ill, only 15 are deadly. There was one they showed called the trumpet of death - it is jet black - but it doesn't make you ill, is edible and is known as poor man's truffle.
