  • Lynz,

Do you have a local disability forum? They often have people experienced at these appeals and can help you through the process and forms.

    Mum on a mission.
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Cheers mum on a mission, Ill look into it the sick thing is that I was working at a Older Peoples & Disabled Peoples Socil Work team up until Im off sick! Ive got years experience in filling these forms in. I suppose Ive got so used to them rejecting everyone I presumed Id filled tjhe form in right, but just nope your not getting it! Will appeal, and then see : )

Hi Lynz angel - Be ready to go all the way and as the OP said, you gotta watch out for those deadlines, which start from the day they send the letter/form back to you and NOT when you receive it. Also bear in mind that places like DIAL & CAB are always busy and can be booked heavily in advance so don't let it sit too long. When you contact them, be sure to tell them you want to appeal against a DLA decision and you have a time limit to get the items back to them. Every time you get turned down, always appeal! ;)

I hope I didn't offend you Lynz - anyone who's read your threads knows what a clever bunny you are. I apologize if you were offended. It's the same for me - I can write letters that could shrivel your socks (no, not as in stalker letters!:rotfl: ) when necessary and fill in forms for England, but they take every word literally and don't assume anything about a condition so as much info & detail as possible is what's needed. EG - just because you say you've got asthma, they don't take it as read that you have breathing problems! You have to go into detail. You can't apply the rules of form filling with them. I just don't want you or anyone else to miss out.

The support networks in DIAL, CAB & Welfare Rights Advisory Association know the questions to ask you to get the correct wording. They can actually make you aware that you are being affected in ways you hadn't thought of. And every little detail is important.

I hope you've got a supportive medical team..... hopefully, DLA will actually bother to contact your team of Drs unlike they did with me! How can you not ask for any medical reports for someone trying to claim any kind of DLA help?!

Hope this helps hun. sorry for spilling my guts about my problems earlier guys :o but I felt I just had to post.
    Hugs & stuff

I dont have a supportive medical team, In fact I dont have a medical team.

However, Im in a good mood today, so dont get me started!!!

On this subject my mum told me a bout a private health care policy that I can have. I wont be covered with this condition for 2 years, but once those 2 years are over I will :j so In 2 years I could be treated privately :T . She siad that she will pay the instalments on it as well :T until Im more financially stable :T Cheers mum :D

    Todays jobs
    Do all flylady bits
Start my 2 letters for the union - they have advised me as have acas to take a grievance :o
Start 4 letters for merc court that I need to do
call woman from HA AGAIN about the key for the meter cupbaord ( dont forget to check gang whether theres any rebates in your lecky meters ;) DONE!
    Chop up b/card DONE!
    Phone A&L about this referral
    Raise appeal re my DLA
Pop to shops to get yet more cleaning equipment
    Make dinner

Another weird thing is that I checked my smile acocunt yesterday ( which is the one our bills go out of), as I had to print out a bit of it for the trade union as Ive appealed for money out of thier cash pot for living on as im allegedly going onto nil pay on the 20th  ) anyway, checked that account and I seem to be 1200 in credit. Now 1100 covers our bills, which means, it seems that I have managed to pay off the overdraft in that account
I dont get how this has happened ( i dont seem to have had my 2 monrths off with council tax yet or anytihng like that)

Really really weird. I cant fathom how its happened.

If I still havent seen any neg change sby the end of next week its coming off my sig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another tip, check whether you are entitled to a tax rebate. OH got about 120 back yesterday from the IR, which is being overpaid to the hellish Cahoot loan!
