Just caught up & wanted to send a hug...sorry things are so dire for you but well done for taking the bull by the horns, finding some energy & sorting! Re morphine, I can highly recommend it as you're so chilled/zonked that you dont care about anything else!! Not great for getting ANYTHING done though but might me nice for light relief!!! Being in no pain & not caring is bliss, even if just for a few hours! At the end of the day I think you have to focus on the fact that you are doing your best & really cant do more than that can you? Working from home would be great so hope that comes through for you & do take people up on their offers of help; although I can understand why you wouldnt want money will you let your friendly DFW's send you a wee food parcel? That way we feel we are helping our DFW's out, will be nice for you to get little parcels from around the country & that way you can experiment on recipes for us & post them for our meals plans!! Conniving...moi?!! Also remember Lynz that you would do the same & will no doubt have the opportunity at some point in the future, although you do already by the help & support that you give others so this is just a practical thank you back...think on it but big hugs meanwhile...good to hear that coil is out...!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Ah hello, slightly better in mood
We just have a hell of a lot of carp to get through, its the remaining positive Im struggling with, peaks & troughs I guess.
I spoke to my folks this AM they have said for a couple of months they can handle not having my money in for the cash that I owe them. What a relief
But for the rest of the day, Im off to lovebox in a minute ( about 5 mins walk from my flat) and seeing jamiroquai! :T We bought these tix as a treat for ourselves out of the lodgers money, so we intend to have a good day
How are you flower? Well I hope? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Jamiroquai ? I'm jealous. Have a wicked time. I'm good. Having periodic debt panic attacks, but gritting my teeth and getting through it. I've realised that it isn't so much the debt that causes the anxiety, as the trapped feeling it causes. That means that as long as I'm debt busting, I feel in control and not swamped. if that makes any sense?! Having a bit of a tidy today, and have found two big boxes of clothes that are too big for me (have lost over a stone of late), which made me cheery. Also have a mint cornetto waiting for me in the freezer - what more can a girl ask for?Official Debt Free Wannabe Nerd Club member 095! Debt Now:

Lynz - I am pretty sure that if you are classified as disabled that it would be against the act to terminate your employment. In fact I think they have a duty to make sure you are given the resources to be able to carry out your job effectively.
From the direct.gov website :
"Your employer, or prospective employer, has a responsibility to consider whether the employment arrangements or any physical feature of the workplace are putting you at a substantial disadvantage. If so, the employer must make 'reasonable adjustments' to enable you to do your job."
Perhaops McBurnie might have some useful ideas though about how to handle things??
Keep your chin up m'dear. You're right to stay away from the tube right now. Try and stay cool... ((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))Debt Free Nerd No. 89, LBM: April 2006, Debt at highest (Sept 05): £40,939.96

Oh bless Lynz, I just read all this. All I can do is wish you well, wish you the very best. I'm sorry to hear about all the bad stuff that has been happening. You really dont deserve it. Your employers sound very unreasonable and unfair. You havent been off sick for that long, cant believe youre on half pay already. Do they have a right to do this? I have tried to think of a solution for you but cant come up with anything right now but i will try to think of something. Things are reasonably ok for me, breaking up for 5 and a half weeks on tuesday. Daughter now in Cambodia, looking forward to her coming home. OH is taking son to work with him tomorrow, they went out and bought him work boots and a safety helmet yesterday. I hope he gets on ok, hes not used to work. The down side of it is that OH says hes going to pay him over £100 a week if he works hard:eek: I protested but he says itll be cheaper in the long run as the boss will start paying him when he sees he is useful and then he will be off my hands financially. Cheeky little monkey said to me in the car today that hell be able to have driving lessons and he expects me to help him buy his first car. He also expects help setting him up in his own house:rotfl: We have decided that we are going to start saving up for the work that needs to be done as well as paying off debt. If we aim at paying it off at £500 per month then we should be debt free in about 3 years and at that rate we can save some money towards the house as well as we dont feel that we can live in this mess forever. weve worked out that it will be at least a year before OH can start on the loft extension but thats better than getting into more debt. Anyway, love to you and wishing and hoping for you to get better. TesThe forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I have been following your thread everyday but have never posted on it. I have been amazed at your drive to be DF. I really feel for you with your latest news from the docs. My dad had to become registered disabled due to pain and it is the best thing that he could have done. He was working as a social worker, adamant that he could carry on but one day did not go back in and he is a changed person, he can manage to do so much more now he doesn't have the grind of work. He was on strong pain killers but has learnt to manage the pain more using his mind and learning to ignore it. Hope you get some good news soon from re your charges as that will bring the balances right down for you...... thanks to all - you are all treasures
The reason IM on half pay now ( well should have gone on in may) is that I have had lots of time off, be it days, weeks whatever over the last year. They total 6 months well. obviously more as apparently I should have gone on half pay in May. I really dont know to be honest, the more I think of it, the more confused I get. Maybe If Mcbirnie sees this hew could let me know, is it 6 months in the last working year, tax year or what?
So in may I shouldve gone onto half pay. In October onwards, Ill be on nil pay. When this day comes I shall literally be stuffed. However, Im hoping to be home-based by then. the union agree thatr reawsonable adjustments should be made, and thats what they are leading on.
More rubbish news in the form of, for rather good reason OH has decided that he shouldnt go back to where he has been temping, He is taking a days sick today to do a recki round the agencies to see what else is going, but this of course might mean a pay cut for him. In absoute worst case sceanrio he will go back where he is but hes being very badly treated there ( and I mean, bad- even by temping standards) but no recourse whatsoever.
SO we are going to have one big slog in front of us this week, and Im hoping we will come to the end of it without imploding:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
